This is my 5th time visiting Nido cafe in the 2 short months since my first visit with a friend. It's truly lovely, coffee is absolutely sublime, great accommodations for gluten and dairy sensitive people like my self! Absolutely fantastic cafe! I was a little hesitant to set up shop with my computer to do some work for the day, since I felt like a ragamuffin walking in to an upscale restaurant, but everyone was super friendly and said it was encouraged! I really felt welcome, and I noticed that they serve Counter Culture Coffee, so I was definitely in. I found a table near the back patio on a gorgeous day, and all the natural lighting inside the cafe makes it really stand out. I seeked this place out initially because I looked up their menu online, and saw that they offered all of my favorite things in the world on one sandwich: Strawberry Basil Brie Honey Egg Croissant. And, I was right, it was UNBELIEVABLE! I came in just around noon, and I was both thrilled that they still made the breakfast sandwiches, and disappointed . . . but only because that meant I couldn't try any of the other phenomenal-looking lunch menu items . . . or could, but then would be too stuffed to leave. First time dining at Nido. None of the employees were wearing masks. Service was very, very slow. Luke warm water carafe brought to the table and server placed 3 drinking glasses stacked together on the table for us to separate and glasses were still hot from the dishwasher! We had to ask for ice which was slow to be brought to the table. The honey goat cheese stuffed beignet were tasteless and inedible. The restaurant is very noisy and it was difficult to carry on a conversation at our table due to this. Server was inattentive and also never brought a requested refill of my coffee..she realized it when she brought me the bill. Doubt I'll go back there. read more

Terrible restaurant: - We had the chicken empanadas and stuffed goat cheese beignets. They had no taste which when advertised as "honey," I should taste the honey. They also have a bad texture. - You sit in uncomfortable grooved chairs. Your legs will be pressed together the whole time. - Add 15 minutes to whatever the wait time is - The coffee was way too strong and bitter - The table water was warm like bath water. We had to ask for ice, first time I've ever had to do that. - The way the restaurant is designed, the noise carries to where it's a struggle to have a conversation at your table - The one thing I can say is it's decorated nice and they were polite. This place is amazing! Nido has been opened for awhile now but just started serving dinner this week. The food was so good and the staff super friendly and helpful. We had Santa Julia Pinto Grigio , warm spinach and pine nut salad, crab cakes, (these are made with JUMBO crab meat and a few diced vegetables.) They're my favorite! Enfuego Chicken ( a beautiful combo of sweet, spicy then add the creamy caper sauce...WOW!) We ended our dinner with a beautiful nutella crepe, chocolate fondue and a cup of Americano coffees. We were lucky enough to meet two of the owners, Kevin and Bill super-duper nice guys and our waiter Ian. We will be back! I enjoyed my experience here. The latte was absolutely perfect. I drink coffee daily and I would love to have a few more of these. I had the avocado toast which had a good flavor but loaded with onions. Be aware that your breath will be wrecked. I would like to see more chunks of avacado.This place has been several places before this cafe opened but this time I'm hopeful it will last. It has a lot going for it. Give it a try. read more

Cafe was cute and decorated well however there isn't much seating inside for a party of more than 2. I had a party of 3 and sat outside. It was alright, just wish they had more seating options. Service is super slow. We waited like 15 minutes in between everything from her bringing the menu, then water, then food, the checks and then our cards. We almost left without paying, simply cause it took so long to bring the check we had forgotten we hadn't paid yet! I'd understand if it was busy but it wasn't super busy. Food was okay. Breakfast tacos I ordered were good but on the oily side. My friend got a basil, strawberry croissant, which looked delicious but my other friend's simple bacon, egg croissant was crushed flat? Didn't understand why that happened... Seems like they're known more for dessert? But brunch items seemed basic. Nido is worth coming once? A cute cafe but definitely could use improvement. read more

Solid three star place. I liked the ambiance, and the enclosed patio area. Service was reasonable, and the food came out as it was ready, which was perfect for a tapas/appetizer focused restaurant. I give this three stars because the food quality and taste was rather uneven from dish to dish. Best for deserts, chocolate items (there is a whole menu section for this) and a relaxing atmosphere. Tapas, breakfast and other food items range from quite good to meh. We came with a small group and were able to try many things from the menu. I would have given a higher review, but some items were hit and miss. Coffee - Latte review was positive. Strangely, the waitress advised us that the drip coffee was not as good as espresso, indicating they use the same beans. I found the drip coffee to be above average myself. The single origin coffee - on the menu - is apparently "not available for purchase now." Very good - Brussel sprouts. Super crispy and delicious. Classic cookies - amazing chocolate chip cookies, came out in a plate of 4. The shot of ice milk that was listed on the menu as an accompaniment never arrived. Chocolate croissant was light, fluffy and contained a perfect balance of chocolate without being overwhelmed. Good - crab cake Benedict. This was good, not amazing, but a solid breakfast item. Crab cake was done nicely. Avocado toast - This was a basic version, but the consensus was that this tasted good. Not much you can do with avocado on a piece of toast. Ok - Spanish Cheese Fondue. I love fondue. This was some random white cheese. I've also been to Spain many times. This was still some random white cheese. Too bad. Serrano Wrapped Figs - I get excited about these when I see them on the menu. Some permutation of figs or dates, wrapped in Serrano, bacon or the like. Usually a really good option. These were just a little off the mark. The honey is a common theme at many restaurants... that or maple syrup. Still, the table agreed these were not as good as hoped. I'd pass on these. Not so good - Hummus and pita. This was meant to be a bridge for the kids in the group. There was a scoop of basil (green) and pequillo (red) on the plate. The colors are useful because there was little in the way of flavor. Sorta meh all the way around. Added salt and a few folks would eat it. We had the waitress take this away. Tried to call ahead and make a reservation and it went straight to voicemail then tried to make one online and couldn't unless our party was 20+. Showed up was told it'd be a 15 minute wait and that the reason I couldn't get someone to pick up the phone was because they don't have a phone number. After 15 minutes was told it'd be another 30 minutes due to reservations that had already been made. Not sure how said reservations were made without a working phone number and not being able to online. Heard someone complain they had been sitting for an hour and a half with no server. Also watched as food sat for 10+ minutes at the window with the heat lamp off. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

This past Sunday afternoon wasn't Nido Cafe's day at all. Cold coffee and cappuccinos, the driest Nutella crêpe ever, and the staff just couldn't pull it together for anything. It took FOREVER to get our food (about 25-30 mins) which came out one order at a time. In our party of 3, 1 finished before other's food even arrived and 1 just gave up and scrapped their order all together because it was taking so long! So 2 of 3 got to eat and the food was Meh and we didn't finish ): All employees seemed to be Juniors and Seniors in High School with no experienced management to be found! Employees just didn't have a focus. It's a shame really! Cute place with a lot of promise. Our first time to Nido and it'll be hard to give it a 2nd chance. read more

It's been three years and unfortunately Nido's has taken a tur for the worse. It used to be an amazing place with great staff, portions, and food. However over the past two years it's gone downhill fast. They've changed their menu multiple times. Staff isn't consistent and it feels like they are going cheap in the ingredients as well. My mother had a chicken salad and it was very watery. My kids had a Nutella crepe and it was chocolate sauce and nothing like we had in the past. I really love this place and the owners however I can't recommend this place in its current state. The good news is they are closed most of the time and their hours make no sense so you'll probably arrive at time when they are closed anyways. I went from 5 stars to two. Nidos don't let me down and let's start working on that cause we miss how good you used to be. read more

We found this place on yelp. The food is tasty and the lattes are very good. The price is reasonable and atmosphere cool and trendy. Our server was friendly. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is because the service was a tad bit slow. Although our server was very friendly she didn't really check back with us until we were done eating and we had to remind her to bring water. Went to this place for the first time for brunch since I just moved to Vickery. The good is that the brunch food was decent. The bad is the service is very slow! They only had one server outside for all tables. Also, the menu items list one price, but then when you get your bill, the price is over 20% higher on some items. I was charged more for every item I ordered. To add more disappointment, the server told me they don't offer refills on ice tea, I will have to pay full price again! Really??What a rip off. My overall experience was very disappointing! I will be going out of the neighborhood for breakfast and brunch now. read more

I love Nido Cafe! Located in the super cute Vickery area, Nido has loads of charm and quality food and coffee. I've been getting coffee to-go from here for months but I recently was able to stop in for breakfast and was not disappointed. The ambiance and decor is super cute, but our experience otherwise was lackluster. We had to wait a while to be seated and once we were, the service was unbelievably slow. We chose Nido Cafe because it was open earlier on a Sunday than our first pick, but by the time we got our food, we could've gone to our first pick restaurant. The food was delicious, but as other have mentioned are smaller portions. However, I did feel the price was very fair given the portion size. What a missed opportunity for the owners. This place is SO cute and cozy but appears to be run by apathetic teenagers. My eggs benedict and potatoes took 30 minutes, arrived cold, and I had to flag down my server for silverware. I also heard a table ask him what his favorite thing on the menu was and he said "uh, I don't really have one." Lol yikes. Also don't love that they don't bring an actual check. This place has lots of potential to be awesome but falls just short. Decor: they did an awesome job in making this place feel homie and new. Service: awesome service with great attitude. Everyone is very friendly. Parking: plenty of parking in Winter but seems like it could get packed in summer. Food: cool menu with lots of items that you want to eat. But this is where it falls short. Steak Tostadas had a terrible presentation and there was nothing special about the steak. It lacked some love. Spanish Butter Chicken took me more back to india than anything Spanish. The rice was cooked with a little too much water and the grilled pita bread was anything but grilled. Chicken was overcooked and smothered in sauce to cover it up. Felt more slightly toasted. Kids Grilled Cheese was yummy but wow $6 bucks for normal slices of bread and two slices of cheese is over priced. Worsted of all the bottom was burnt and they served it on the non-burnt part side up. This is a no no from my side as a place that doesnt show care to kids food is not worth my time even if my food would have been great. Kids tenders had flavor but didnt come with any side. Price: the entire menu is over priced for the lack of flavor and attention they show the food. Attention to detail and a little more flavor on the food and this place will be rocking. read more

Avocado Toast - should be called salsa toast with avocado garnish. It's good but very little avocado, and for $9 I would expect a whole avocado. Scrambled eggs aren't that great. I make silkier, fluffier eggs at home. Breakfast items come out at different times which drives me bonkers when there are several of us. I'm often told they come out when they are done... Chef/cook should be able to time dishes to come out together. Some of the best espresso and coffee drinks. I like the vibe and the guys on staff are always nice and provide good service.
