Overall rating: 4.8 1 drink: $18.88 w/ tip I came here on a whim after going to a very pretentious bar & a terrible date. So happy I stumbled here because it was exactly what I needed. I came late and just came for cocktail & it was really dark. The service was friendly and I enjoyed the vibe of the place. I don't have many pictures but will definitely be putting this place on favorites if I'm in the area again. I also love how dimly lit it is! Highly recommend.

I won't lie, this place gets five stars from me for being open when they say they'll be open. I had an evening planned for checking out some pinball bars (reviewed separately), Hotel Delmano, and Night of Joy. I tried to stop my Hotel Delmano first, as they were supposed to close at 1 AM on a Sunday (on Google and their own website). But they closed over two hours early. So this is where I ended up. This is sold as a bar with grandma decor, which is sort of accurate. It has a few shabby couches and old-timey lamp fixtures. I can see this being a Miss Havisham kinda place. Service is effective and matter of fact; don't expect to be fawned upon. Again, I went late on a Sunday evening, so it wasn't crowded (I could count the number of people on one hand at any given time). So the bartender was hanging with her friends and chatting. I'm ok with this. I got my drinks in a timely manner and wasn't bothered by a crowd. Let the woman chill with her pals. And neither she nor her friends were pretentious. Total win there. Music was a little loud for how few of us were there, but a cool indie selection. The menu is small, but offers some nice, simple flavor profiles. I had the basil lime vodka, lavender grapefruit gin, and hibiscus cinnamon mezcal. They also have some drinks with jalapeño and black currant flavors, an orange blossom lemonade, a rosemary ginger bourbon, and more. Would I go out of my way to come here? No. But if you're in this part of Williamsburg and want a low key hangout without a lot of fuss (on a weeknight at least), this is a pretty good bet. Oh, and during the warmer months they have a rooftop bar. Seems to be pretty cool. I imagine this is a big crowd draw once the thermometer hits 70.

Dark lit bar with rooftop seating. The rooftop seating was all filled. We had non alcoholic drinks. Mostly younger crowd.

This bar was interesting to me because of the different vibes upstairs vs downstairs. Downstairs felt very datey and intimate. Upstairs was more chill and relaxed. It's a "rooftop" but there are really no views because it's actually covered. There are cute twinkly lights though. I got a Moscow mule, which was fine. Nothing special.

I've always heard about Night of Joy but never actually came in until yesterday (a Thursday night). There was a bouncer at the door checking IDs, who was super nice, and upon entering, the bartender immediately acknowledged us and took our order with no wait at all. We decided to try two frozen margaritas (one pomegranate and one lime - my go to for the warmer months) and headed to the roof. The roof was much more lively than the door stairs area, but both had their perks. Kinda nice to have two options all in the same bar. My margarita was perfect, exactly what you want without it being too fancy. My only complaint was the paper straw. I know this is environmentally friendly but it is not frozen marg friendly. I had to keep biting the straw to get the frozen pieces out. Still, not the bar's fault! We only stuck around for one drink since it was a school night but I definitely am looking forward to spending a bit more time here in the future. The lavender drink has my name written all over it!

The music is at a low enough volume that you can hear your conversations, it doesn't get too crowded so you can spread out, even if you're in a large group. Downstairs, it's a lot tighter, with a DJ, dance floor, lounge seating area, and a much more packed and busy atmosphere on the weekends. I like ping ponging between both vibes when I'm with friends. Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.

BEWARE: Multiple Phones Stolen in One Night, Management Showed No Concern…read more Both my friend and I had our phones stolen inside Ciao Ciao. We later learned that at least two other women also had their phones stolen that same night. When we reported it to the bouncers and management, they showed little concern and made no meaningful effort to investigate, review security footage, or help locate the stolen phones. We even pointed out an individual whose behavior seemed suspicious, but instead of investigating him, management defended him. After I questioned him myself, I watched him immediately leave, get into a car parked directly in front of the club, and drive away. Something seemed quite fishy about his relationship with the club. What makes this especially concerning is the safety aspect. If I had not been with my friends, I would have been stranded for the rest of the night without a phone to contact anyone, get directions, or access transportation. Having multiple phones stolen in one evening should be a major red flag for any venue, yet staff seemed completely uninterested in addressing it. Based on this experience, I would not return and would urge anyone visiting to keep a very close eye on their belongings.

Came here on a quiet weeknight by a total mistake!…read more We came to grab some drinks at the rooftop bar and catch the sunset and gorgeous views. When we saw "Water Tower" on the elevator we decided to press it. SO GLAD WE DID. We landed at the Water Tower and walked into a fairly empty space decorated with art all the way to the ceiling, filled with natural light coming in and the views of the skyline were out of this world. We had to try their drinks of course to enjoy with the incredible view. Though the drinks are $21 and served in a plastic cup that evening, I was NOT expecting my drink to be this insanely delicious. I ordered the inferno Paloma which they infuse themselves with- and it was true perfection. By the way, each bar has their own menu which is pretty awesome and makes it even more fun. Also, Axel is the most incredible bartender and we absolutely loved his creations. Later that night we ordered a custom mandarin margarita, with a spicy twist, and WOW. He's truly talented and absolutely made us some awesome drinks that we can't stop talking about. Sunset with a view and a spicy mezcal drink? Yes and YES. We had this place all to ourselves and can't wait to be back. Friday nights they have DJ nights and you can also book the Water Tower for your own private events which is pretty cool!

The Sweet Potato Beignets with hot honey & parmesan were definitely interesting--sweet, savory, and a bit unexpected. Not my favorite item of the night, but still worth trying if you like unique flavor combos. The BK Sliders (3 pc) were solid: thick applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, Russian dressing, and pickle on mini brioche buns. Simple, satisfying, and nicely done. The real standout though was the Calamari with shichimi pepper, jalapeño, lime zest, and herbal dipping sauce--absolutely amazing. Crispy, flavorful, and the seasoning had just the right kick. Easily the best dish we ordered. Service was friendly and the atmosphere made it easy to linger. Overall a great experience, and I'd definitely come back--especially for that calamari and another hot toddy.

Avocado toast also isn't exactly something you can box up and save for later, so a lot of it just went to waste.
