During our trip we saw farming fields, wildflowers, and wildlife! A fleeting white-tail deer, a ring-neck pheasant racing us along the tracks as we trundle along to the state park. Absolutely worth the time and price. They make two stops in the park: 1) On-A-Slant Historical Mandan Earth Lodge Village 2) Fort Abraham Lincoln They leave the station in town at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm. They leave the park at 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, and 4:30. (don't miss the 4:30!) Your best bet is to take the 1pm out to the park, and get off at the stop at the fort. Then head over to the commissary building and pick up your interpretive passes (100% worth it). These passes will grant you access to the living history tours at the Custer House and the On-A-Slant Village. The Custer House tours are given every half hour. The On-A-Slant Village tours begin in the interpretive center, and are given every hour on the hour.

That's the way it was here and we heard nothing at all during our entire stay due to our choice for the background noise!
