In terms of Sandos, I think Niko Sando is a decent spot to visit. Their menu is pretty straightforward. Once you're inside, you order via a tablet and then wait till they make it in the kitchen and call your name for pick up. There's a few seats outside. Looks wise - the food was aesthetically pleasing inside its little to go box. My husband and I opted for their egg salad sandwich, katsu sandwich, and fried chicken. If I had room I would've tried their fried sando but that's something for next time. Both flavors were okay if you're missing the sandwiches from Japan. The katsu sandwich was more bread than katsu which was disappointing at the cost, but it still filled the hunger. I appreciate the sandwiches being made fresh and the condensed menu for quick choosing.

Little sando shop tucked away in Brentwood. Parking was difficult due to street parking being in residential area. Aesthetically, it was very neat. Seating area a little exposed to the sun though. The boxes that the sandos come out in is pretty neat. It is contactless ordering as well. Food wise, egg sando is what it is known for but was kinda bit to dry. Ordering a drink is recommended. The katsu was better but the taste still leaves room for more. Overall not too bad. But missing that 5% for the 5 star.

The tiniest little shop that packs a punch in the sando department. This hidden gem (no seriously, the name is hidden by the umbrellas out front that cover the seating area) shares a building with a coffee shop and both are great. You walk in, consult the menu and use the kiosk to order. Vegetarians rejoice (the non-ovo kind)! They have a mushroom toast that is absolutely delicious. I'd get that again for sure. The bread is thick and flavorful, mushrooms and onions cooked perfectly. A lot of great textures and flavors, served with a tiny arugula salad. Ovo-indulging vegetarians, the egg sando is delicious. For any of my jet setters that have traveled to Japan, it's comparable, even has that orange yolk. The major difference: you're paying $16 a sandwich instead of $2. Everybody loves dessert! They have some fried and non-fried sandwiches. We got the fried pistachio and Nutella sandwich and the fried banana one. If you're not in the mood for savory, at the least, try the sweet ones! There are non-fried strawberries and cream as well. I will say, the fried ones, you cannot have often. You can kinda taste the oil and it is HEAVY. I wish the Nutella and bananas wasn't just the top of the slice but actually inside the toast. Almost too much cream but still delicious. They gave us the wrong sandwich and luckily remade it (thank you!) but then we had 3 fried dessert ones total and this was just too much. Definitely great to have at least once.

I was missing these from Tokyo and decided to give these a try after getting an iced matcha! It was a nice sweet treat. The karage came out crispy and warm. I love how there was seating outside as well. The service is order at the kiosk and they'll call out the number. It's a quick and super casual pick up.

Had the egg sandwich and the pistachio chocolate fried sandwich and they were so good. Great portions, will definitely come back to try more options!

Niko Sando serves Japanese-style sandos and they're so good. We ordered the chicken katsu sando and the egg sando and loved both. The chicken katsu was crispy and satisfying, but the egg sando really exceeded expectations, super smooth, not eggy at all, and no strong egg smell. Everything was fresh and light!

Fear not, the crowds are for the coffee shop next door. You walk inside, place your order on a screen and then check out the beautiful people having coffee while you wait for your order. After a few minutes, they text you and hand over a box or two of yummy sandwiches.

I wasn't expecting this unique type of Japanese food--delicious sandwiches served warm or cold. I'd seen these dessert sandwiches in anime and recently spotted the egg version at the Japanese Food Fair in OC. Absolutely delicious Service is fast and simple, strictly takeout. The charming ambiance makes it great for a date or a family visit. It was my first time here; I only tried the chicken sandwich, but I'm looking forward to trying the egg and strawberry next time Also worth noting: the wooden silverware adds a nice touch.

Tiny little spot with the best bites! The bread is so soft. Definitely need to try their sweet sandwiches next time! You order on screen at the counter and the food is ready fast. Wish there was more seating but the coffee shop next door has lots to borrow :)

Chicken katsu sandwich was definitely the star. The egg salad one was good but wouldn't go back for it. Want to try the fish one next time :)

Order katsu curry with rice. It was very spicy and the flavor was just so so. Self service overall. Seating area is kind of small.

If you're visiting the area, I highly recommend making a stop here. My biggest piece of advice is to go early because it gets incredibly busy by lunchtime--and for good reason! Keep in mind they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. While you can order online, I'll always choose to go inside so I can browse everything they have to offer. Their selection of fresh pasta salads is fantastic, and the desserts are always tempting. Whether you're craving lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, a chicken Parmesan sandwich, or one of their many other Italian specialties, you really can't go wrong. Be sure to check out the wine section in the back left of the market. It's extensive and absolutely incredible! This is the kind of place that keeps people coming back year after year, and it's easy to see why. Being Italian American and growing up with an Italian mother who loved feeding everyone, this was one of our favorite places to visit together. Those memories make every trip here even more special. My personal favorite is the Godmother sandwich--hands down one of the best you'll ever have. It's packed with flavor, made with quality ingredients, and it's the sandwich I find myself craving every time I come back. One of the things I love most about this place is the atmosphere. It has an energy that immediately makes you think of family. Everyone is genuinely kind, welcoming, and happy to help, making you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door. It has that warm, old-school Italian family vibe that's becoming harder and harder to find, and it's a big part of what makes this place so special.

Their mozzarella sandwich is a masterpiece with Fresh Ovoline Mozzarella, Avocado, Alfalfa Sprouts, Pickled Red Onion and a delicious Za'atar Spread. What makes it stand out as one of the best sandwiches in LA is the bread. They make their own focaccia several times a day and it is divine. Probably the only other place that can dare to match their creations is La Zucca at the Beverly Hills Cheese Store. Some of our other favorites is the tuna sandwich. Service is always on point and the sandwich travels well for consuming it at home. There isn't a ton of space to sit, but there is some counter style seating. Tip: Their menu is limited by choice. Check their Daily specials (Sandwich of the Day) for inspiration. They have 3 kids sandwiches (all are meat based). Tip: The biggest challenge is parking, sometimes metered parking is available. Otherwise, park for free in neighborhood streets away from Montana. It's a pleasant walk.

We liked it so much that we made a plan to come back next week. So we went to today and I ordered a BLT with turkey added, no problem. My girlfriend asked for the veggie wrap in a sandwich form and the guy at the register said "we don't do modifications". My girlfriend responded by saying they were able to do it last time so could you check. He looked fairly new and had trouble putting in my order in the register since I modified it by adding turkey. So he went to the back and just asked, do we do modifications? To which the guy in the back said no. She's vegan and that's all she can have off the menu so she ended up not getting anything and she was bummed since she really liked the sandwich they made last time. So we won't be coming back here and this place gets one star based on the customer service. It's a sandwich shop, if it's an extra charge to put a veggie wrap into a sandwich no problem. But the hard NO when it was made last time is PRETTY LAME for a sandwich shop not being able to make a veggie sandwich.
