Finally got a chance to try Niko's Tacos! They close on Sunday and Monday so remember that before you head over! But when they are open, they open until midnight! Their store is in an unassuming building next to a 7-11 and they are cool with you grabbing a Big Gulp next door to enjoy with your meal. We ordered the shrimp and steak burrito and two street tacos (chicken and steak). At the recommended of the guy at the counter (Niko??) who walked us through the menu, we ordered it with grilled onions. Everything was super fresh, tortillas were soft and the perfect thickness, the burrito came with a slight crisp from the griddle just how I like it, and the proteins were plentiful! Their specialty is their zip taco and I accidentally forgot to order one. The server who brought out our food was kind enough to make us one and allowed us to pay later so we didn't have to wait in line. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a steady flow of people since we came in at 7:30.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can see why this place is highly rated despite the somewhat hidden location. Great service, fresh food, reasonable prices.

Tacos so good we went back the next day. And the Horchata was nice and cinnamony. Lady at the counter was nice and friendly. And the order didn't take long. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside area is a little small, but they have several tables you could eat at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We usually wait at a table and take our food to go.

IG Style Burrito [Roseville CA] I have been meaning to visit Niko's Tacos since seeing the sign go up. It was previously occupied by a takeout-only Chinese restaurant. I finally made it here on National Burrito Day! Naturally I had to order a burrito! LoL! I ordered the steak burrito "IG Style" ($0.55 extra) and dined in. First of all the burrito was huge! Presentation was pretty and quality was great! The IG Style is where they embellish your burrito with Cotija cheese and crema drizzle. Well, that burrito lasted me for lunch and dinner... delicious and flavorful. Friendly customer service too! They are open late until midnight from Tues to Sat so when you are having late night cravings don't get your tacos at Taco Bell, come here for tacos instead where the challenge you'll be asking yourself is "Street tacos or Zip tacos?" Parking is very limited. Niko's is next to 7-11 on Cirby Way. Review #4009

These are my favorite tacos in all of the Sacramento area! They put cheese inside the taco, grill the whole thing so it gets all melted, then drizzle on a cream sauce with cotija cheese. Plus you can get grilled onions, and some tasty salsas. The beef, chicken and shrimp are all good options. You can get a mixed taco with shrimp + chicken/beef and that was my fav.

The last time I was at Nikos was when they were in West sac. It was prygood but out of the way for us so we never went back, but I noticed they moved to Roseville, we are in Roseville often so we immediately decided to check out the new location. So glad we did! Their zip tacos are on another level! With food prices being high every day, a $5 taco often disappoints, nut not at Nikos they are worth every discontinued penny, crispy, cheese everywhere, and packed with meat. And now that it's a better location for us we are going to add this to our rotation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also this is a night and day location change, the one is west sac was a little rough, it added to the ambiance but seemed a little sketchy. This new spot is bright and clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], only thing I would change is to have free chips and salsa, that's a big deciding factor for a lot of people

Well I've been hearing about the taco shop in Roseville that has been getting a lot of hype on Yelp-in fact they are ranked #9 nationally for taco shops on Yelp, which is just wild to think we have a taco spot so well regarded,so was feeling tacos so my daughter and I headed straight for Nikos Taco shop in Roseville. Driving there I almost drove past it,was truly a blink and you will miss it spot, located in a shared parking lot with 7-11,my advice, once u see 7-11,pull up-u have arrived. Its a smaller parking lot but we did find a spot right away so parking was no issue for us. When we walked in,it truly was a bare bones minimalist experience, they aren't trying to knock your socks off with over the top decor or elaborate shiny objects all over the walls-this place stands on its food quality and I'm here for it-I will take my restaurants focusing 98% on food quality and 2% on decor all day everyday-it's great. This spot has a walk up counter to order food right when u walk in-they have a pretty straightforward menu display right at the counter-all pretty simple. The woman taking the orders could not have been more pleasant-asking us if this was our 1st time there and then going on to explain the menu to us,she was very nice. This place is known for their "Zip Tacos" which are basically tacos with a cheese skirt on the outside, coated in cotija cheese then draped with sour cream-sounded amazing-I had to try it. We decided to go with a few items, though I'm a sucker for any place that offers Shrimp and Steak combo for tacos and burritos ,so once I saw that I was all in.I ordered 3 Zip Tacos ($5.95/each) and a Burrito($16.00) with "IG Style" which cost an additional ($0.55) which basically gave it the cotija/sour cream treatment. I don't consider myself a hype guy,a lot of places I find are very good at making social media reels and really hyping up their spot.I also consider myself a crazy over the top taco snob, even more so a burrito snob, based on my previous life before Yelp I spent time as a Sacramento burrito reviewer,I will even admit walking in I was ready to scoff and call this place all hype-I was ready for that-but darn them if they didn't pull this off, these tacos they got here were out of this world excellent. The flavors, the seasonings, the freshness of the ingredients, straight perfection. That 1st bite threw so many flavors at me,it was overwhelmingly good-I truly love their tacos. Burrito was pretty great as well-the Shrimp Mix with Steak was so tasty and so filling I had to bring half of that home, which the wife destroyed and immediately told me I have to take her to Nikos asap-she enjoyed it that much and that was just leftovers. My daughter had the horchata, which she immediately proclaimed was the best horchata she ever had,but she may have been a victim of the moment because she declared the tacos the best she has ever had as well, she went to college in SoCal,so she knows a thing or 2 about tacos-so I took that as very high praise. In closing,I must say I'm so happy I made it out to Nikos Tacos and can honestly say they have earned every bit of their 4.8/5.0 rating on Yelp-they have found a unique taco offering in a crowded market and I'm so happy to have this place in my immediate area-I plan to go back to Nikos as soon as I can-can't wait. PS... A special thanks to "Belinda C"-a fellow Yelp Elite Squad member who left an amazing thorough review of this place before I did and mentioned the availability of grilled onions on these tacos-that was a great tip and one I recommend-added a great flavor boost to an already flavorful item-thanks Belinda C.

Nikos Tacos is known for its Zip Tacos. Zip is the name of the kind restaurant owner who let Niko use his grill to set up a pop-up kitchen. Meat Choices: * Chicken * Steak * Shrimp * Shrimp Mix (with Chicken or Steak) Street Tacos use 4" tortillas. Zip Tacos use 6" tortillas. Monterey Jack cheese is fried up on the inside edge of each taco, like a cheese skirt. IG Style means the outside top of the tortilla is sprinkled with Cotija cheese and drizzled with sour cream. All menu items, except the burrito and breakfast jack burrito, come IG Style already. Because burritos are handheld items, the default is not to put stuff on the outside, so there is an upgrade fee for IG Style. Toppings include: * Cilantro * Onions (default is raw, but you can request grilled) * Salsa, Green or Red * Monterey Jack shredded cheese * Cotija cheese * Sour Cream I heard Niko confirming several orders for 4 to 6 tacos, likely street tacos, but if you have a big appetite, maybe zip tacos. I probably would order 3 zip tacos or 5 street tacos. Shrimp is my favorite, but Steak and Chicken are more popular. The first time I visited late at night, Chicken was sold out. I preferred tacos with a single meat over the Shrimp Mix with Steak, which had more steak than shrimp. Two types of salsa: * Mild green salsa (tomatillo, cilantro) * Spicy red salsa (serrano peppers) I prefer the milder salsa. I heard one longtime customer wishing for mango salsa to return, but Niko needs to develop his own recipe. I recently watched Season 36, Episode 7 of "Beat Bobby Flay" where the Food Network chef made a mango salsa. It had similar ingredients to Chef Rick Bayless' recipe: https://www.rickbayless.com/recipe/mango-avocado-salsa/ Niko is a friendly, personable, and motivated guy. He originally drove a food truck out to Atlanta, Georgia to start a new life, but the pandemic put a damper on his plans. To show he understood or anticipated what the customer wanted, I kept hearing him say, "I got you." Small restaurant with a few tables. It can be a bit chilly and windy by the front door. One handicap accessible restroom. Niko's opens early at 9 am and closes late at midnight Tue to Sat. Closed Sun and Mon. It's located on Cirby Way in the same plaza with 7-11. Small shared parking lot. I think there is street parking on the nearest cross street.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Well, at first you taco stand right next to 7-Eleven, which is a bad sign.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Secondly, the lady taking the order was kind of mean. Third, this is gotta be by far the best tacos I and my wife have ever had. Not gonna lie, it was so good we had seconds to go. I had street tacos and my wife had regular tacos. bomb.com we will be going back for sure!

Mighty flavor for the small tacos...they really did a good job packing in all the meat and other goodies they could without it overwhelming the tortilla. On a Saturday night after 10PM, it was a good meal and more filling than one would imagine for street tacos not sold by a street vendor. Very flavorful for a brick and mortar shop! I have to thank whoever brotha was working that night (had tattoos). The 7-Eleven next door is very rude in terms of who can park near their shop and oddly have been "allowed" by whoever to designate one singular parking spot as their own (with barely visible, small printed white paint on the ground saying "7-11 Only"). As me and my friends had planned to dine-in, the brotha at Nikos came out and asked, seemingly quite flustered, if I could move my car. He was clear it was not him asking, but due to 7-Eleven and also offered a free soda to apologize for any inconvenience as me and my party had then decided to just order take out instead (there was no other parking). As I was about to move my car, one of the workers from 7-Eleven had came outside which, once again, the brotha working at Nikos told him that I was "okay" and was moving my car. Whoever is instructing their 7-Eleven employees to be bouncers of their storefront parking needs to do better...especially when people were parked outside your store eating in their cars saying, "These are the best quesadillas I've ever had." Needless to say, Nikos Tacos=5 Stars 7-Eleven Next Door=1 Star. I'll plan to go back to Nikos if able to in the near future. Especially since it seemed like such great energy on the inside.

The wife and I stopped by today for lunch off of a friend's recommendation. My friend suggested the Zip tacos. Great recommendation. These were so delicious. I ordered 3 but I seriously could have eaten 3 more. The wife got the state tacos. She said these were really good as well. Well seasoned. She also got a side of Mexican rice. Very delicious. Prices are very affordable. We will definitely be back.

My husband wanted to show me this place because he went here without me before and swore it was incredible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super small place but good vibes![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I feel like those are usually the places that are super bomb lol. I was extremely impressed. Everything was absolutely delicious. We will 100% be back. We ordered ahead of time and it was ready for us when we got there! Great service everyone was friendly and welcoming. New fave burrito/taco place!

We stopped to place a to-go order, to enjoy a nice dinner before sunset! We ordered the following, Chips & Salsa, Horchata, Zip Tacos with Steak & Chicken, Zip Tacos Shrimp Mix and Street Tacos Shrimp Mix. Cheese dusted tacos are bae and these were flavorful! Our family of 4 enjoyed the horchatas and tacos, nice dinner at the park! My favorite were their Street Tacos, perfect size and I really love the corn tortillas!! This popular Mexican restaurant was rated #9 on Yelp, so you should definitely check it out! Busy, but great service! This small business sells the local Cookies by Uriah here too! I'd recommend the Strawberry and Vanilla Salted Caramel! SYOY! :-) *Song Credit: La Decisión by Federico y Los Pájaros
