Went here for my sister's birthday for lunch time and what an experience. It felt especially elevated since we had a private room to ourselves. The cuts were rich so certainly you gotta pace yourself . I can't remember having such an amazing meal like this in a long time. I'm not too much of a fan of tartare, but this was absolutely snapped.

This place is hyped up. I have to say I was quite excited to try this place, since I've been to the sister restaurants. This one is the worst one in my opinion. The ambience is quite dark. We were seated on the first floor behind the bar. The bathrooms were disgusting. It reeked, was super hot and the floors were sticky. Not something you would have expected for this price range. The best thing about this place has to be the mid wagyu and meats. The sides were terrible. The best side was the lobster, but that needed a lot of lemon juice for flavor. All the cooked food that came from the kitchen was barely lukewarm. The server was kind enough to heat it up. The sushi/sashimi was like supermarket grade. Another turnoff was that they kept trying to sell the chubby membership. I might have considered it if the food wasn't terrible. If we tell you we will think about it, please don't ask us again and again.

I've visited the LA location before which I thoroughly enjoyed and was really excited to try their NYC location! *AMBIANCE* We came here for a special occasion and made reservations beforehand. We took an elevator up where we were seated, where they have a communal dining area as well as private rooms. Overall, the look and feel seems very similar to the LA location with its dark mood lighting. *FOOD* This is meat paradise. We tried the unlimited grand wagyu menu ($158 mon-thurs // $168 fri-sun // 100 minutes) which has a wide assortment of starters, seafood, specialty wagyu dishes, sides and desserts. Everything in the grand wagyu box was really tasty and some cuts just melt in your mouth. I also really enjoyed the lobster tail and the wagyu ribeye yakisuki. *SERVICE* Service was good and attentive. Our server also explained how the menu worked given it was our first time at this location and he also made recommendations on how many dishes and what to order. They also cooked all the meats for us in a separate area. If you are looking to indulge in a decadent meat session, this is the place to be!

Unlimited A5&seafood experience for $158-$168 or $138-$148 for chubby club members. Honestly a pretty good experience, main thing that stood out was the amazing salad and A5 ribeye. Everything else didn't stand out much. Most of the meats were either too chewy, not much flavor, or toooooo much fat - even for me and I love the fatty meat pieces! The lobster tail lacked flavor and they don't have much seafood options, thought they used to have king crab but they don't anymore and just crab coquettes. The potatoes were cold and not much depth. The A5 cuts overall was great but just alright. I may be biased comparing to another A5 AYCE restaurant as well as compared to chubby cattle which is my favorite branch of the Chubby group! Overall still solid experience, I just don't think the food I received was that worth it for the price point compared to chubby cattle or other A5 restaurants. Service was slow and not the friendliest compared to other branches either but still alright. Also the strangest happened after the meal - I felt more bloated than normal after normal AYCE meals and even threw up for first time in years, not sure if it was because of the excessive fat or undercooked meats like nigiri but it felt very off.

Finally tried NIKU X. I've been thinking about trying the LA location for a while but never had time to. I got the Unlimited Grand Tasting Menu for $168 and went in very excited, but it quickly fell short. They ran out of several items the night I went (Sunday), including caviar, king crab legs, and wagyu tallow shishito peppers, along with a few others. The waiter explained it was the end of the week so many items were out by then. Unfortunately, I was only told after ordering. Paying $168 plus tax and tip -- easily around $225 per person -- I felt a bit cheated. The meat cuts were good, but after a couple of rounds the fatty portions became too much. I understand Wagyu is meant to be rich and fatty, but for me personally it was overwhelming after a while. The ambiance is cool and gives off a speakeasy vibe. Service was good as well -- they were attentive throughout. Would I return? Maybe not. Would I recommend it? Yes, if it's your first time and you want to try Wagyu. However, I would likely recommend the regular tasting menu instead of the Unlimited Grand Tasting. At that price point, and with the possibility of missing items, it didn't feel worth it.

Lets get RIGHT into it: Niku X is the kind of place that makes you stop halfway through dinner and wonder if you somehow wandered into a luxury food fever dream. We did the unlimited Wagyu and Seafood, and it was completely absurd in the best possible way. I have not eaten a ton of wagyu in my life, but this meal absolutely changed that. Every round felt like a new flex: multiple lobster tails, rich wagyu tartare, incredible sea bass for someone who does not even usually eat fish, and cut after cut of wagyu so buttery and tender it practically vanished on my tongue. I am not exaggerating when I say I felt like I was chasing the flavor of the meat before it dissolved. That is how melt THROUGH your mouth this whole experience was. The drinks were out of this world, the meal was wildly memorable, and the service pushed everything over the top. Our server was AMAZING, and not just in the standard polite, attentive way. He genuinely guided the experience and made ordering feel effortless, which turned a huge unlimited menu into something exciting instead of overwhelming. It felt like he was helping craft the meal in real time, and that made the whole night even more special. This is the kind of place I already know I will come back to for another special occasion. Truly one of those dinners that stays with you. 11/10. Literally: steak too juicy, lobster too buttery.

Not bad. We did the unlimited experience. My husband liked the meat - I thought it was only ok and most of it was too fatty (just a personal thing ). I did really enjoy the hand rolls - and the sea bass wasn't bad. The Norwegian king crab was pretty poor quality so I didn't have much but it is king crab so my husband got a refill. The second batch was admittedly better than the first. I loved the free kimchi to start so much so I kept getting refills and then they ran out - it was helpful to cut against the fat of the meat. Agedashi tofu and shisito peppers weren't bad - would pass on the asparagus. Yuzu and matcha cheesecake were also both decent. Service was ok. My water was constantly empty but they did stop a decent amount of times asking if we wanted to order more. They must have improved from other older reviews bc we didn't find an issue with timing for asking for more food. Also the inside was unbearably hot, even for me and I always run cold. Overall, glad we tried it but not sure I'd return.

I was really looking forward to dining at Niku X. While there were many things that I enjoyed, the overall experience left me disappointed. We went for a weekday dinner, which made it a little less pricey. The food itself was excellent. I enjoyed the A5 Wagyu Nigiri, Wagyu Box, A5 Ribeye Thick Cut, Grilled Lobster Tail, Toro with Ikura, and the sashimi. It was high quality and nicely presented. The location is also a plus since it was right in Herald Square. However, my experience would have been much better if I hadn't felt so rushed. When I made the reservation, it wasn't stated that our dining time would be limited due to the kitchen closing at a certain hour. Had I known in advance, I would have planned accordingly. Instead I felt pressured to eat quickly so I wouldn't miss out. At one point, I was eating so fast that I felt like I was in one of those Coney Island Contests where you have to stuff your face before the time runs out. I didn't get to fully relax and enjoy everything. On top of that, they knew it was my partner's birthday, and there wasn't even a small acknowledgement- no candle on a dessert, no complimentary treat, not even a simple happy birthday from the waitstaff. For a restaurant of this standard, I was very disappointed. Overall, clearer communication about time constraints and a little more attention to special occasions would have made a big difference. Any small gesture would've gone a long way in creating a better experience.

It was my 2nd time here. Food was good, and service was friendly. The menu changed and is smaller. They removed the fried rice, yaki udon, and other items. On Saturday, AYCE is $168 for 100 minutes, which was worth it for the variety and quality. This time they showed us the ingredients and took them away to cook rather than in front of us where the meat smell would permeate. Everything was tasty, fresh, and rich from the wagyu to the seafood. They have yakiniku sauce, ponzu, and seasoned salt. They cut the crab leg shells so it's easier to take the meat out. The wagyu box and lobster tail were the most memorable. Cocktails were strong and good at $20 and up. There's a coat check. The servers forgot some items but to be fair a lot was ordered and they fixed it if we asked them to check on it.

We had a wonderful evening overall, highlighted by an exceptional dinner. The beef tartare was outstanding, the cod was incredibly flavorful, and the other cut of beef was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. Service was largely attentive, save for a brief moment of confusion when a staff member tried to clear our uni plate before we were finished. My only real critiques are that the 100-minute dining window felt a bit rushed, and the yuzu cheesecake was, unfortunately, one of the worst I've ever tasted. Still, the superb quality of the savory dishes made it a lovely experience.

Went to NIKU X at the beginning of this month for boyfriend's mom birthday. I must say this dinner was incredible and the customer service was beyond impressive. Alex was our server the night that we had dinner, he literally answered all of our questions ( there were a lot of questions too) and served us the entire night legit never left our side. Alex was the best server I have ever had in my life at a restaurant! The food was incredibly fast to come to our table and insanely fresh. We loved everything that was served to us that night. Oh gosh I forgot to mention, they served incredible drink!!!! No need for me to say this but this restaurant is beautiful but you may already know that from social media. Legit a 10/10 when it comes to service, ambience and food. I definitely will go again when I'm in NYC!

Had an amazing experience at Niku X. From the moment we sat down, everything felt elevated and well thought out. The food was incredible--high quality, perfectly prepared, and worth every bite. Big shoutout to Server Kay and Server Mikey. Both of them were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made the experience even better. They struck that perfect balance of being present without hovering, and their recommendations were spot on. If you're coming here, definitely ask for Kay or Mikey you'll be in great hands. I'll definitely be back.

I think this place is good value if you're interested in tasting a lot of different things at a set price. But our experience wasn't so good, and after the meal we did not feel so well for 2 days. The place was pretty quiet when we went there. However, we waited 10 mins to be seated as our server was not ready. Then when we ordered, we were told the unlimited options do not include sides, which contradicts with the menu itself, but I didn't press coz it's not important to me, but it's strange. The meat box was supposed to be the highlight but the cuts were not so good. The skirt steak was very chewy, and the short ribs super fatty. The beef tongue was super thin even though it's described as "premium thick cut" on the menu. The dessert choices were matcha and yuzu cheesecakes, but only matcha cheesecake was available. We were given a crepe cake choice and we accepted it. We waited a long time for the desserts, and when they finally arrived, the crepe cake was still FROZEN. I understand that these restaurants get their desserts delivered frozen, but that's not how you're supposed to serve it. We commented on it and the server nonchalantly said "Yeah, coz it was in the fridge". Oh thanks, I didn't know that. Like I said both of us did not feel well for 2 days after the meal. It wasn't exactly food poisoning but I know I won't be rushing back.

We showed up and the place was buzzing with a line out the door. I checked in at the podium and hostess said table will be ready in 5 minutes. 2 minutes later, we the hostess to our table. Looking around everything was the old classic/stereotypical ideas of a what a great steakhouse should be and it did not disappoint. Sal was our waiter, he was friendly, professional and one look we could tell we were in the more than capable hands and nothing would be amiss. He told us about the specials, lunch or dinner menu options. The other wait staff worked like a team that has been together for years, checking on everyone in our section, delivering our orders, refilling our glasses, answering questions, bussing our table everyone with smooth and practiced motions. 2 Caesar salads, 1 8 oz filet w/baked potato, 1 surf and turf w/broccoli everything cooked and presented to perfection. The service stood out right away--attentive, knowledgeable, and well-paced throughout the evening. We never felt rushed, and everything came out at the right time, which made the night feel relaxed and enjoyable. The steaks were cooked exactly how we ordered them--tender, flavorful, and high quality. All of the food had great flavor, and the sides were just as good and easy to share. The only reason this isn't a full 5 stars is that a few small details could have been just a bit tighter. But nothing that took away from the overall experience. Overall, it was a memorable anniversary dinner, and when in Times Square I would definitely visit again.

I sat at the bar, since it was only me, but tho the bar wasn't busy and service was friendly, it was very slow. The food was wonderful! I'm glad I made the choices I did, tho of course nothing I wanted was included in the happy hour specials. The fried calamari was some of the best I've had tho it was observed with a little bit of cocktail sauce and a huge thing of tartar sauce. I'm sure I could have gotten more cocktail sauce, since I don't like tartar sauce, but it wasn't necessary. The calamari was so good. The lobster bisque was delicious and the picture can't show you that it was full of lobster. There was a LOT more lobster than a lobster bisque normally contains and the price was about normal for a lobster bisque with one tiny piece of lobster. The iced tea was a bit out of control. If I'm going to be charged $5 per glass of iced tea, that glass should be larger than the ones they use AND not 90% ice. That much for a glass of ice with a splash of iced tea is extreme. I'd still return, since the food was wonderful and hopefully I just got unlucky with the service.

Better than all the others. Not quite good as in Paris. It was a joy to eat here. And I feel like I've finally found a place that compares to Paris. I made a reservation to be safe, as many restaurants now ask if you did so. This place is quite packed every night so it was the way to go. I came here for dinner post showtime and my son and I over ordered but happily enjoyed everything. I think our eyes are way bigger than our stomachs. Starters: - French onion soup, au gratin, was perfect. Great onion profile and lots of it. Not overly salty so that was good. - Beef tartare, classic French bistro staple, must order this. The portion was quite generous and it was delicious. We couldn't stop eating it. The petite toasts were a nice accompaniment as well as the raddiccio salad - cheese board, IYKYK, I never met a cheese I didn't like. This board was matched with nice pairings. Think grapes, fig jam, and marcona almonds. The cheese were a classic French variety - bleu, comte and brie. For our entrees, my son opted for a sandwich and I got the steak. His croque Madame was really delicious. The bread, the ham, the baked cheese and the fried egg was so savory. Yummy. My steak was a sizeable portion but I purposely ordered the bigger ounces since I know we'd share. Fries are nice and skinny, perfectly seasoned. Our waiter was attentive and I asked for the table next to us given all the food I know we were getting. He was not sure if he could accommodate but I insisted he check with management. They came over and put it together for me. I appreciated that given a table for two, for how much we ordered, it'd never fit. Totally would return. If you like French food, this is a solid spot to try.
