There are two places in Liberdade - one just has the desserts w/ a few food items and the other has a fuller food and dessert menu. I went to the smaller location when I was on a tour where it was just me and my guide. The place is narrow and built to walk upstairs where you'll have a few different areas to sit. In one of the upper level rooms, you'll find a cozy room that has a tiny window displaying some of their sweet Hello Kitty and friends treats like slices of cake, brigadeiro, macarons, biscoitos, ice cream, and more! I of course had to get a few fun macarons and an ice cream in a sugar cone. I didn't eat the macarons until a few days after (not on purpose, but I was trying to save them for later in the day but it ended up being longer cause I typically don't crave sweets and they were so cute, it was hard to eat them right away). They still tasted good when I bit into them - still soft and tasted good - their faces kind of melted off and transferred to the caixa they were in cause I had been packing them in my bag whenever I'd get out of my Airbnb as an emergency snack. The ice cream cone was everything I could ever want, lol. I loved the presentation and it was delish! They ask you if you prefer to have it in a cup or cone. É muito fofo! (see fotos) The location and time I went which was during the early afternoon had very few people inside. It was not crowded and we were able to check out most of the rooms. There are banheiros inside. This is a fun spot to check out with anyone who loves Hello Kitty and / or the Sanrio gang.

Going there you can't help but leave with bags full of fresh produce which is beautifully displayed front and center in the store. At lunch they serve a healthy buffet which is a bit over priced, but I can overlook that, because I am the type who would rather buy one of their sushi to go plates and go eat it in the park. They have a great selection of frozen foods for celiacs and vegans in the back next to the organic foods. The bakery is pretty good, and the juices are awesome. It's the closest thing I've found to Trader Joe's in Brazil.

Pay attention to the exotic (if you're not from Brazil) fruit selection at Quitanda - I found two of the biggest passion fruits I've ever seen there (and I used one to make maracujá #infusedwater - so good!) I was also impressed with the array of soap and picked up a local honey scented one to take home. This Pinheiros grocery store is definitely worth a nosey if you're curious what healthy Paulistas feast on.
