The person who came to sort out our plumbing needs was called Efren. He had to extend two copper pipes, so that we could hook up our new washer. Sounds straightforward enough, but it involved opening up the wall and soldering. Efren was courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. While I do think the job was on the expensive side, the financial pain was eased by Efren's ability and can-do attitude. A big thumbs-up to Efren! read more

I've had a leaking shower that was getting progressively worse. I left 3 messages with plumbers that we've worked with in past before calling ninja. I talked with their service that took my information and they called me back within 30 minutes. Dan was on site within the hour and diagnosed a corrosion problem that required pipe repair from behind. The supervisor Elias, came out to assess and share with me the details to complete repair. I just want to start off by saying that this is my first yelp review ever, and it is dedicated to Ninja Plumber and their services. I can truly say that they are honest and good hearted workers. I would definitely describe them as a family business where they treat their customers with good faith like a family would. Their attentiveness to their customers and their excellent service was experienced from the very beginning. When I first called, they thoroughly explained everything to me and they made sure to answer all my million and a half questions. Setting up an appointment was easy and they were very flexible to my time. They even called me 30 minutes before the tech was out here and another follow up call an hour after he left to see how I felt about their service! Even better, when the technician gave me a quote to install my shower head, I asked if he could lower the price a bit. He immediately got on the phone with his supervisor. The supervisor/owner, Mor, asked to speak with me. He explained the reason of the price and told me it was because of the material/labor and this specific kind of part is more expensive, however for being a first time customer, he was willing to meet me halfway and lowered the price down! This really shocked me because every other plumber I've had always over priced me and did a half ass job at that. This company is definitely going to be my choice for the rest of my life. I had what I thought was a minor leak in the garage of my condo, so I called these guys after finding them on Yelp and had them come out. I was given a window of 4-5pm, A gentleman named Juan showed at 5:15pm. So the leak was thought to be coming from a drain pipe in my guest bathroom wall which happens to be on the other side of the wall where my refrigerator is in the kitchen. Juan suggested that cutting the wall open behind the fridge was going to be his best place for access, so that's what he did. In doing so, they unplugged the fridge. Upon further inspection, what was understood to be one bad pipe became several after ripping open some of the drywall covering the drain pipes in my garage. My $600 quote had quickly turned into well over $3000 now that all my drain piping would need replacing. By the time this was discovered, it was probably 7:30pm at that point and the techs left to go get some more equipment from their office to snake one of the pipes. A while after they left, I noticed they had left the fridge unplugged for 2+ hours, luckily I noticed that my kitchen was a little too quiet. While I'm sure these guys had a long day and I understand people forget things, it could have been disastrous for all the food in there had it gone unnoticed. Now that the plumbing turned out to be a much bigger problem, I considered calling my insurance company. Mor offered to sort of prep me to properly describe the issues to them, but thankfully I didn't need to make a claim. I decided to call my HOA while they were gone to see if this would fall under their realm of responsibility as the issue was now clearly inside the walls. The HOA told me they'd send their plumber the next day to check it out. I tried to reach Mor (the owner) who provided me his phone number to ask the Ninja guys hold off on coming all the way back pending the HOA provided plumber outcome, but I wasn't able to reach him as his voicemail was full so I couldn't leave a message. So the two techs came back around 9pm and I had to send them back home until I had more info. I told Mor that I would keep him updated as to the outcome. On the Sunday after Ninja first came out, their receptionist called me to reschedule a missed appointment. I was confused as there wasn't an appointment that was missed. I told her I would probably need them to come back next week to possibly finish the work they started; she said she would call me right back and never did. I don't know if she was confused and thought I was a different customer or what, but she's 0 for 2 that day. Fortunately for me, the HOA-sent plumber wound up replacing almost everything that Ninja would have had to do with the exception of the first pipe that Ninja initially removed. So I did bring Ninja back out to finish the job by connecting one last sink drain pipe that the HOA-designated plumbers didn't want to touch. I tried calling Mor to schedule coming back to finish the ~45 minutes of work that was left to do, still greeted by a full voicemail box days after informing him it was full. I would usually say it's great service when the proprietor provides customers their direct number, but what good is it if they don't pick up and you can't leave a message? Call me old fashioned, but I don't want to do business by text message. Regardless, I was able to reach him by text to schedule coming back out to finish up, and this time, Juan showed up about an hour before I was told he would. I happened to already be home, so no big deal again. Anyway, they connected the sink back up and patched up the hole in the wall that was cut for access once he was done, which I appreciate as I don't believe all plumbers do drywall - the other guys certainly didn't offer. He also put everything back in its place that was removed from under the bathroom sink. He thanked me, gave me the invoice and I purchased a yelp deal which saved $100. Both Juan and Mor were professional and easy to deal with. Perhaps thankfully, I don't have a whole lot of experience in dealing with plumbers so I don't really have anyone to compare them to. Other than the annoying phone issues and accidentally leaving my refrigerator unplugged for a few hours, they did a good job and I'd use them again. read more

Richard was friendly and professional and was more than helpful by explaining what kind of problem that I was having with my drain pipes. I've used Ninja Plumber's services several times. Most recently I had a sewer line inspection done on a property I was looking to purchase. Richard came out and did a thorough inspection of the line and explained everything in great detail so I was well aware of the issues and the possible solutions. Richard is very professional and on top of his work. In the past, on a different property Richard came out and repaired a leaking tub drain connection under the house. He was able to repair it really fast and at a very reasonable cost. I have also had the pleasure of working with Matt and Mor on a different project. Lets add another 5 star on for the bad boys of plumbing!!! Lets talk a little about Ninja Plumber! I had called a couple plumbers before Ninja Plumber that came highly rated too take care of an emergency issue in my house. I had sewage backing up into my basement through the floor drain! It was the worst thing ever! It had the whole house smelling like....well I think you get the point. The other plumbers did nothing for me and talked around in circles...while the sewage still backed up in my basement. So I needed a plumber that would truly get the Job done. I came across Ninja by checking on yelp...yes the 5 stars helped but the name also sold me! After I called in no time was Richard at my door. He looked at the situation and assessed what we must do. we setup an appointment for the next day. Richard came too the house in the morning and left by late evening. After doing a Hydro flush and then scoping the line we discovered that my main was pretty much separating in many spots and at the joints of each separation massive roots had found a home. So the sewage situation in the basement was taken care of!! Yes!! It made me very happy, but it would only be a temporary fix. I called Ninja again about two months later too have the main taken care of. It was a several day job and required much labor. Richard was out again also accompanied by Jimmy and several other hard workers. They dug two massive holes in my driveway. One hole at the front of the driveway and another towards the back....Using a hydraulic machine they broke through the old line as it was replaced by a new strong flexible abs line. they also repaired the line that that connected too the city sewage line. This whole job was not cheap!! the cost was unreal, and I mean that in a positive way. If I would have had any other Plumber do the job I would have paid thousands more, but I truly saved money with these professionals!! On Friday, September 29, 2019 around 9:30 PM I called Ninja Plumber to report that the pipe that had had the washing machine connected was leaking after the machine had been removed. Ninja Plumbing had Giovanni, one of their plumbers call me. At 10:00 PM when he called I told him that the pipe, were the washing machine had been connected was leaking and that we had put a cap on it and that it was still leaking and I had to turn off the water for the entire house and that I was panicking because the next day the move out cleaning company was coming. I knew I couldn't open the main faucet because of the leakage and asked him if there was anything he could do to help me He paused and said you know what I'm going to change into my work clothes and I will be there in about a half an hour he got to our house at about 11:15 PM. We had purchased the wrong cap and he didn't have the correct cap with him so he had to improvise. He finally got it completely sealed and the water stopped running and he stayed about a half an hour to make sure that it wasn't going to continue to leak and about close to 12 midnight he felt it Was not going to keep leaking and since My son was no longer living in that house he suggested we turn off the water and the next day when the housekeepers came that I should turn it on and check it every half hour to make sure it didn't leak. It never leaked again, The biggest blessing beside him coming out at that hour of the night was that he did not charge me, I cannot give Ninja Plumbing a high enough rating. Mor, Matt and the guys are great. I had a major issue with my sewer line between the house and the street and they spent 3 days fixing it. The price was more than fair and the new line is under full warranty. Then, I had an issue with my dishwasher not draining so I texted Mor on a Friday night and Matt was at my place first thing in the morning. I had an incredible plumber from Ninja Plumbing by the name of Arthur. Don't let his youth fool you; he was smart, methodical, respectful and thoughtful every step of the way. I picked this company because of the yelp reviews and I have to tell you they deserve 10 stars for the type of service I received from Arthur. This is my first review of any kind and this young man earned it. He replaced my cracked sewer line by diagnosing the problem patiently and not just tearing up the side of my house and digging; at each step keeping me in the loop. Any other plumber would have digged further and charged more trying to figure it out; this wasn't an easy find since it was under the elbow coming out of the house and not the straight away. I had an issue with my sewer line and a neighbor recommended Ninja. I gave them a call and they came out pretty quickly and gave me a price of over $1000 to perform the service that I needed. When I told him I was shocked at the price and wasn't going to be using his service he responded with, "I don't think you're going to get anybody else out here as quickly in an emergency situation." I told him that this was not an "emergency" as everything was still functioning and I could wait until I got someone else out here. He left and I called another plumber and two days later that plumber came out and did the service that I needed for half the price that ninja had quoted me on the spot. Called on Saturday because I kept getting the run-a-round from SoCal Gas and Leslie (sp?) was extremely nice to me. At first she was unable to assist me, but she told me she'd call me back if she had anyone open up who come and repair the water heater -- no hot water for more than a week. 1 hour later she called and was able to get someone out within 30 minutes! I was helped by not one but two plumbers, who thoroughly inspected my condo's plumbing system and explained the possible causes and remedies. So my house saga continues.. (This review is a little late) 2 weeks after moving in, water starts backing up into my shower. I haven't even cooked in the house to I'm completely taken by surprise that this is happening. (Word of advice: If you are looking at buying a house, never ever EVER buy a renovation from CEM & Ramit Investments LLC. Their work is shoddy, cheap and never done correctly. See my other reviews for things I've had to fix in a 'new' house. They will demand a lot of money from you for the pretty house and run away leaving you to fix all the issues with the infrastructure) I call out NP again and ask for Oscar since he's familiar with the place. He comes out the day before Thanksgiving on 1 day notice, since I specifically ask for him. Turns out that the connection between the main pipe from the house and the connection to the plumbing is misaligned. So much so that we can't even get the camera past the joint. (This makes me furious at the initial inspectors (Sewerline) who did not catch this) Here is a list of issues: 1) Developer used a 3" pipe which is very narrow for 3 bathrooms. 2) The connections come in from both sides of the house at 90 degrees which is prone to blockages 3) Connection is misaligned reducing the 3" to about 1" or so. Oscar proposed: 1) Cutting 3-4' of the cast iron main pipe to set up 45 degree connections to reduce the chance of blockage. 2) Set up a proper aligned connection. So I agree to the quote and the start date of the day after Thanksgiving. Day1: Works starts and the guys dismantle the connection to start work. Oscar decides to camera it to double-check the issues.This is what we find: 1) Cast iron pipe is the original that came with the house. It's so old that most of it is corroded and there is a visible hole in the pipe. 2) Clay pipe section leading to the sewer has gaps in the connections and I can even see a root intruding at the first joint. So my options are now: 1) Line the cast iron pipe as a temporary fix 2) Replace the pipe with ABS Since the guys are already there I decide to opt for the ABS replacement because it actually works out as cheaper AND I can increase the width of the pipe to 4" to allow for better flow and less chance of blockage. I'm a new homeowner and I've been doing a lot of research into maintenance. One thing that has come up is a recommendation to inspect your clay pipe every 2-3 years for intrusions/cracking. One solution is lining it to future-proof issues. Based on the fact that everything is already dug up and I don't want to deal with plumbing issues again, I asked for the following and whether they can give me a deal: 1) Replace corroded cast iron pipe with ABS and increase width from 3" to 4" 2) Install a water overflow outlet in front, incase it overflows again. 3) Line clay pipe from house to main sewer line. 4) Change connections from 90 degrees to 45 degrees. Oscar was great and gave me a good deal. Please note that lining 30' of pipe is NOT cheap, but the deal was fair. The work took 2 days after which the guys cleaned up, Oscar and Chewy (spelling?) were awesome and clean up well afterwards. I now have a lined clay pipe, replaced house main pipe and a lifetime warranty if any of the stuff goes wrong with either of the two. I don't anticipate any kind of backup in my system (unless I do something stupid) and hopefully a nice peaceful remaining stay in my 'new' house. Thanks again Oscar, Chewy and Ninja P! read more

I wish we would have found Ninja a long time ago! We have wasted so much time and money trying to figure out why our upstairs bathroom shower had hardly any water pressure and the didn't get hot. We had replaced our shower head, had the shower snaked, got quoted on a new tank less water heater, offered up solutions like opening up a wall to get to the water lines upstairs. So glad we didn't do anything drastic because Ninja fixed us up!! Ninja came out twice-once to do a major service on our tank less water heater and the other time to figure out why the pressure was not good. In an hour, Chris, the service technician, figured out why we had no pressure-which was pretty much because the water in LA is hard and we needed some deep cleaning on everything! I was overwhelmed because my tub was clogged. It was so frustrating that my daughters and I couldn't take a nice shower without the tub going half way through our legs. I had an amazing experience with Ninja Plumber. Our hot water heater was not working and I called Ninja Plumber 2 nights ago. Leslie, the receptionist was so nice and easy to communicate with and Richard, the plumber showed up within an our at our house. He quickly saw the problem and had it fixed in less than 10 minutes. On top of that, he went above and beyond and removed all of the excess water around the tank so it doesn't corrode the heater. They were awesome to work with and I highly recommend using them. Good Plumbers are like Unicorns...I'd heard about 'em, but I'd never met one. A week ago, I noticed small pieces of toilet paper in our hillside street near our clean-out pipe. I'd just heard a radio ad for Mike Diamond Plumber, so I called them for their $99 all inclusive special. Big Mistake. They ran their camera, then told me I needed a NEW cleanout in order to Hydro-Jet our sewer to clear out blockages. They were professional but charged me $3800!!!! This for about 10 man-hours of work. $380/hr - when most of that time was spent by a day laborer digging holes? Ouch! Then they showed me video of the inside of my sewer - the original 1940's clay pipe was cracked, and even missing in some areas. The entire 150 foot clay sewer line was about to collapse. It had to be replaced or relined. The cost to shoot a new liner inside? $25,000!!!! I told them I'd have to think it over. After getting burned on the clean out, I decided to do now what I should have done then: I turned to my trusty YELP and called a bunch of plumbers. The fastest responder was Ninja. Mor came over, ran his camera and confirmed the diagnosis. Just for fun, I asked him what he would have charged to add the new cleanup - he said $1300 tops. Ok, my fault for letting Mike Diamond do the first job without getting other estimates. Can't blame Mike for gauging me in the internet age: Buyer Beware! If I wasn't lazy I could have avoided that boning. But it wasn't going to happen twice. In the following days, I got several more bids on my replacement, but the most expensive estimate was still less than HALF of what Mike Diamond charged me. But at least now I know why they're called "Diamond" plumbers. Moral of Part One of this Story: If cost matters to you even a little, don't hire Mike Diamond until you've gotten other bids. Turns out, he's notorious for charging exorbitant fees - somebody's gotta pay for all those cheesy radio ads - turns out it was me. You're welcome, Los Angeles. Now the good part. Mor from Ninja, and his partner, Matthew the Polish Prince, were FANTASTIC! They quoted me $12,000 (Diamond said $25k) But instead of just running a new liner inside the old pipe (warrantied for 10 years) Ninja also would run ALL NEW PIPE (LIFETIME warranty), not just the liner. And they'd do it all in 2 days. Sounded too good to be true, but how do you not hire a smiling, hassidic bearded sprite in a Ninja suit who hands you a logo-ized roll of toilet paper that reads, "The S#!T is about to go down!" instead of a business card? They showed up Day #1 and dug up the access points they needed - since we're in the hills, our sewer is 150 feet long, not just from the house to the middle of our street. They ran their camera, they found the pipe the whole way. It ran under my neighbors deck - which could not be touched - and then SIXTEEN FEET STRAIGHT DOWN to join the City sewer. They had 6-10 guys working 12 hour days to pull 150 feet of SEAMLESS, TRENCHLESS PIPE down our hillside. Like threading a needle through crappy mud, they ran that pipe UNDER my neighbors yard - through the old pipe - without leaving so much as a fingerprint on his property. Amazing to watch. The even encountered a few surprises along the way, but never changed the price or the deadline. When all the mud settled, the job was done by noon on New Year's Eve for far less than half what Diamond wanted to charge for inferior technology. Nobody wants to pay for a new sewer line, but if you need one, these are the guys to call. They are funny, smart, resourceful, hard-working and HONEST. They should have their own reality show!!!
