I've been to Niro's many times over the past several years and loved their Gyros. I was in the area, so I stopped by and ordered a gyro. It was the worst I've ever had. The meat was like curled, dry leather. The tzidziki sauce tasted like plain yogurt. There was one small piece of tomato and one small piece of onion. I couldn't even eat it. This place has been here for years and when I get the itch for a Gyro... and if I'm near, this is where I come. The portion sizes are great (more is better right) and you never feel like you got shortchanged on the meat which is perfect. In the past, it was always a Gyro sandwich, fries and drink all reasonably priced. Now I'm more of a salad person who goes for the Greet salad with Gyro meat and on a few occasions doubled up only to find myself wanting more than I could really handle. For those who are living la vida "Keto", that have a protein style plate that you also can get double the meat with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and tzatziki sauce to give you all of the flavors of a Gyro minus the pita!! Tzatziki sauce thru me off and we both thought it was more like sour cream, so maybe just a The decor is a bit outdated but that's ok as I'm not really hung up on that stuff but I can see a remodel boosting everything about this place. 3.44 stars. read more

First time to try Niro's. Food was good! The gyros had plenty of meat and it was good! Can't go wrong with this place! Service was fast!

After an interesting day of shopping with my hubby, I had Mediterranean food on my mind and soon after his 1st bite, hubby thought the same. We seen Niro's on several occasions as we explored AZ and this area. It would have easily been a 5-star rating by the food, freshness, and deliciousness and most of all the pleasant customer service. But I have to make one more trip to bring it all full circle. I ordered the Gyro platter and my hubby got the Spartan gyro. I also had the most moist and delicious not too sweet Baklava I ever had! This is my first time here. I will definitely return again. The food was really good. My friend got lamb and it was delicious. I'm usually not a fan of lamb, but the flavors were amazing. I had a bowl with chicken. I forget which selection of chicken I had but I believe it was the grilled. I hear they are all good. With everything still being spaced out inside for seating, there was still enough to accommodate. It is somewhat simple inside, could maybe use a little more decor, but it was clean. Had been here once about 4 years ago and kind of forgot about it until last night while driving through Phoenix on our way home to Tucson from a weekend getaway. We were hungry and wanted something delicious that wouldn't take too long and wasn't typical fast food fare. Niro's is really, really good! Great, easy location off I-10 and the place is really clean and inviting. Excellent customer service and our food was ready in no time at all. Ordered the triple Gyro plate for my husband I to split and still allow him PLENTY to take home and eat the next day. The meat is so tender and tasty - seasoned perfectly. There's nothing quite like a hot pile of meat, fresh tomatoes and onions and soft, hot pitas! Their tzatziki sauce is good and thick and perfect to make some filling Gyros. Great food! I order the two meat plate and get chicken shawarma for both. It comes with rice, hummus, a pita, taziki sauce, and salad. They package the meal great for to-go orders. The fries are also a good choice - nice and thick. read more

Not typically one to leave a one star review... but I came in 35 minutes before closing and ordered a $20 to-go meal. The guy wouldn't let me use the restroom to go pee because he had already cleaned. Dude, i get you wanna go home but this is what happens when you clean 40 minutes before closing! I had to leave the restaurant to go use the bathroom at the grocery store next door while they cooked my food. And to top it all off, the food was bland and he didn't include my baklava in my bag so I wasted $5 read more

This place is open for take out and on 4/11/2020 was supposed to open for dine in during COVID19. Their website does not have the prices of the food so check my photos for 2020 prices. The greek burger (gyro meat, not hamburger) was good. I think if there was some hummus in the greek burger it would have been better. Falafel wrap was good size but ok. Lots of parking. Trying to communicate with the insurance company that a State Farm however the owner Omar will not give the name of his agent or make it easy. My family and myself require medical treatment for the failure that they have had in providing our food with a bloody Band-Aid. Absolutely terrible. Also the owners are not Greek and misleading all of the people that they are. They are Syrian. I say this because many people do not realize the difference in cultures. As a business owner and patron, I truly appreciated this sincere gesture. Tonight I re-ordered my original order. DELICIOUS! EveryTHING was awesome. I will be back. When I got home to enjoy my order, to say I was disappointed would be a misrepresentation of my total and utmost dismay of what they placed in my dinner container. After burning myself out on Chipotle, MOD, and other local Ahwatukee chains, I finally decided to give Niro's a try and immediately I regretted waiting so long! I've been getting take out from here once a week for the past two months and have become a big fan of their gyro's, chicken shawarma, and falafel plates. In addition, they have great mozzarella sticks, not something I was expecting from a Greek place! We stopped in for a quick bite to eat and I'm glad we did. $6 Gyro sandwiches are difficult to be beat especially when they are this tasty and packed with meat. Niro's Gyros: From Heroes to Zeroes... This place used to be a consistent 5-star experience. Literally EVERYTHING I ever ordered from there was awesome. Chicago Dogs were fresh, plump, and juicy; their burgers were nice and juicy, and their Gyro meat was moist and tender. Fries and onion rings were crisp and fresh, and the falafels were outstanding. Fast-forward to November, 2020. I am not sure what changed, aside from the renovation (new ownership, from what I'm discovering - ugh). Today I ordered for 4 people, and we went at it family style. The burger and hot dog buns were dry and bordering on stale; the burger patty was clearly aged and dry, the hotdog was shriveled and scrawny, and the falafels were clearly not fresh. The gyro meat was not moist and fresh like it has been in the past. Onion rings were lackluster. It's like everything was hanging out under heat lamps or something. At least the salad seemed fresh, but that's little consolation in the grand scheme of today's experience. Niro's, take notice: Up your game and get back to providing quality food, or you WILL go under. Ahwatukee has very little tolerance for restaurants that start cutting corners and you will be no exception. Ask Los Dos Molinos on Warner what happened when they started cutting corners after the move - oh wait, you can't, they're gone. read more

This place is open for carry out during this pandemic! My friend who grew up in Ahwatukee raves about how delicious the food is, so naturally we had to check it out. We were really happy to see they were still open and abiding all the social distance regulations. I ordered a gyro wrap and my friend ordered a gyro bowl, yes bowl! They have quite the variety on their menu. The worker took our order, checked us out, and made our food fresh within minutes!! THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! I come from the Chicagoland area and can be quite picky about gyros. The flavors were amazing. This restaurant will definitely be a recurring thing for me. Side note - Absolutely leave a tip if you visit. I strong believe in supporting small businesses and this is one I will vouch for! 3 weeks ago I ordered the falafel gyro and fries to be delivered. I had read the reviews on Postmates and was pretty excited about trying it. Maybe the dine-in is better, I hope so anyway. What I received was fries that were raw and cold the middle and a falling apart burrito made with falafel that was mushy and tasteless. We've been going to Niro's for about 10 years and always looked forward to our next visits. We didn't know they'd changed ownership so were shocked to see the decor changes. After placing our order for a double gyro plate w fries, we were hopeful. Sadly, the meat was quite overcooked, the onions were too mild and the sauce had no flavor. The fries, which I've always loved, were overcooked, mealy or hard. No flavor/salt. Now that it's been an hour since we ate, my stomach hurts. I'm sorry but these loyal patrons will go elsewhere.
