We decided to stay in this hotel, due to its close proximity to Cavill Avenue. We found the hotel room and bathroom to be very modern, the bed was comfortable to sleep on, the room had a small fridge (not stocked) and a TV with a few Foxtel channels. The bathroom was stocked with clean towels and the usual soaps / shampoos. We ordered from room service a couple of times, and never had to wait too long for the food. We also had the buffet breakfast at the buildings Deja View restaurant, with all of the food tasting pretty nice. We enjoyed using the buildings outdoor pool and spa, and there was also a small gym and tennis court available for use. The beach and all of the shops on Cavill Avenue are all within walking distance, and there is a tram station near the front of the hotel. Parking at the hotel costs $8 per day. All of the staff were pleasant to deal with, and were kind enough to provide me with a refund for an ordered box office movie, which I was unable to watch due to poor hearing / a lack of subtitles. I would definitely consider staying with Mantra on View again, and would have no issues recommending the hotel to anyone else.

Room 327 is an Airconditioned Fully Self Contained 1 Bedroom Corner Apartment including a quality kitchen complete with dishwasher. All Fisher and Paykel appliances except the older microwave. A Balcony with outdoor furniture and views from 3 vantage points. The grounds and recreation area's which include a Pool, Spa, BBQ with several modern outdoor settings, are very clean & outstandingly maintained. We found this complex is in a quiet, friendly area and within a comfortable walking distance (for us 2 who are unfit, overweight nearly 50 year old's) to Surfer's Paradise and all it has to offer. The staff and manager's were all very friendly and welcoming. To top it off, it also has a small friendly convenience store within a short walking distance on the same street. The bed wasn't as comfortable as we're used to with our super soft mattress but we would never expect to find one like our's and never have in all our travels. People may think you'd pay a high premium for high standards but not at Sunset Island Resort, we found them to be very reasonable especially considering the location and quality we found.

The rooms and entire suite was spacious and clean. They provide everything for you if you want to cook. We decided to have breakfast in every day but maybe a lunch or dinner over the other days. We would be very busy visiting sights and exploring the area. Our first few nights were great. We came back to a clean suite where our beds had been made and toiletries replenished. Unfortunately, on our final night, we were in a major rush and nothing had been cleaned! We were very annoyed because we had been out all day and had to get ready quickly for our dinner reservations. Nothing feels worse than coming back to a hotel room not tidied! I called reception and they brought up towels and toiletries but asked them to clean our room after we left for dinner. They told me that the cleaning staff usually leaves at 5pm but would try to address our situation. Thankfully, they had a staff member come up with fresh towels and toiletries. This was the only drama we had and our beds were made when we returned after dinner. The pools were great! We all went for an evening swim. The location was great being right next to the beach. We went for sunrise one morning. I liked the location and the rooms were good. Since we paid for the cleaning services, I expected it and to make my host family's stay much more pleasant. If this had gone without a glitch, they would have gotten 5 stars but I couldn't. The rating is more of a low 4 star.
