Went to this salon for the first time today and boy was I impressed! I'm a Flanders local with many salons to choose from that I mostly frequent. Be it Sunday, when most salons are respectively closed, I was determined to try and find one due to my dire need and lack of planning. My hands were annihilated by me picking the previous gel polish I had from 4 weeks ago off and my heels could scrub a good greased pan clean - so yeah , emergency. Can I tell you how first of all nice the owners are. They asked me questions about where I was from and how the summer was going. Very pleasant. Second, their sanitation practices are on point. I've been an avid nail salon customer since I was about 16 so 21 years that makes it and I know a good and quality salon when I see it. Not to mention, my hands never looked better and my feet feel so clean. I can feel that my toenails are clean, is that a thing?! Loll anyway - go here please! Affordable however products are low quality. The gel manicure was a bit painful while removing my previous gel mani. The method or removal was by filing down with the use of a machine. My nails were filed down so much it started to burn and my cuticles started to bleed. The end result was bubbled thick gel mani. Pedicure was also painful. My nails are destroyed after removing the very thick gel polish. Took several tries to remove the gel polish using a combination of methods such as filing, soaking, and scrapping. I am usually not one to write reviews but I did want to share my experience if you are looking to get acrylic nails done here. I am not saying this salon is bad in other aspects, I am only here to share to others who may be looking to get acrylic done here. I was shocked when leaving this salon, I have never seen acrylic done this way. The acrylic powder that is put on was not fully on all of my nail, I thought he was going to add more but that was not the case. The shape was not what I was looking for at all and when I pointed it out to the man he did not even fix it. There was nail polish and glue all over my skin and bubbles in the polish. Not to mention my pinky nail was pointing in some weird direction. The pictures show more than what I can even describe. Not worth my $45, will not be going back. read more

i wish i could give half a star. my friend and i went to this place right when they opened (we also called in beforehand asking if they had an opening and they said they did), granted they were slightly busy but the initial wait didn't bother us. we got treated (SLOWLY) within 15 mins of showing up until other people came in for a pedicure. they were treated BEFORE US when they came in AFTER US. our nails were left half done waiting up to 30 mins to an hour till somebody came back to continue. we were there a total of 3 AND A HALF HOURS spending MORE THAN HALF THE TIME WAITING. They rushed our nails and our nails turned out like absolute crap. my friend's nails turned out WAY TOO THICK and she had to correct the worker MORE THAN 5 times with one of the workers still not understanding the simple color she said. I had to correct and start FILING MY OWN NAILS because i did NOT HAVE TIME TO WAIT THREE HOURS. funny enough the nails i filed turned out way better than the ones the lady did. she used way too much monomer when applying the bead of acrylic on my nails and made NO shape or had ANY skill whilst applying. my hands were left with lumps in my nails from the poor wrist techniques whilst filing the shape. i had to continuously correct the worker on her skills and i don't even do nails! i just watch simple videos and understand the concept! needless to say we left disappointed. we then today went to Ocean Nails in ledgewood and they did an amazing job fixing our nails. i recommend. read more

Do not be fooled by their cheap prices. Scheduled an appointment for a gel French pedicure and gel French acrylics. Pedicure is not at all what I wanted. Asked for a rosy pink base color and it's completely clear. Lines do not connect and take up about half of my toe nails. Asked for thin lines and received thick ones. I previously had a French gel pedicure from a salon that did a great job. My toenails were grown out and still decent. Before even asking if I wanted them short she proceeded to cut them down. The lady didn't even take the time to remove the white nail polish residue from the edges of my skin. I had to scrape off the residue afterwards. Pedicure aside I was looking forward to my new set of French acrylics because I haven't had the chance in months to get them done. Never have I received a more sloppy or careless job. The lines are not crisp and don't even connect to the edges. He cut about 7 of my fingers by filing so deep. At one point he had to blot the blood off with a paper towel because of how profusely he had cut the side of one of my middle fingers. Asked for square shape and received such wide tips at the bottom it looks like someone flattened them with a press. Did not buff my nails or cut my cuticles. Basic procedure. The acrylic itself is so thick and lopsided I'm surprised they allow customers to leave with the results they give. The acrylic itself goes over the edge of my natural nails and fuses with my skin. I'm so upset with how they turned out I'm going to have to go to another salon and ask for a fix. Asked for a clearish rosy pink base color for my nails and he just about freaked out as if it was a hassle for him to find such a color as if it's not the default for French. I'm so dissatisfied I honestly didn't want to leave a tip but did anyways. Never coming back. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else. Literally holding back tears because of how ugly both my pedicure and tips came out. Paid $85 total for both services. I honestly think I should've AT LEAST received a discount for the amount of times he cut my fingers with the file and the amount of blood he had to blot. DON'T come here. read more

Horrible experience. the woman wore her mask on her chin and was sneezing all over the place. wiping her nose and then going back to touching my feet during the pedicure. It was rushed and not enjoyable. My fiancé nail person started 10 minutes earlier than the woman working on my feet and ended almost at the exact same time. I'm so disappointed and this pedicure was for my wedding. this was suppose to be a relaxing experience and I wound up leaving stressed. I suggest you find another shop. read more

I cannot believe I spent $85 dollars for this. First of all, I live very far away (40+ min) but my friend recommended this place for the good price and their friendliness. At first I walk in and say my appointment time, and instead of helping me they look at me like I have five heads. Then the the one man in the salon tells me to pick out a color. I show him the design I want and apparently for this salon it was too complicated. Now mind you, I have had much more complex designs on my nails at other places with no hesitation from the technicians. Instead I ask for a full set of acrylics with a french tip. He did not ask for the length I wanted and instead went on to cut them very short without telling me. I told him that's not what I wanted and he asked "shorter?" when the picture I showed him was LONGER than the nails I have. When applying the acrylic powder it seemed like he had no experience. He plopped it on my nail with no carefulness and left big chunks of residue on my skin. When it was time to paint the nails he did not even apply a base coat for the French. He just applied white. I have never in my life seen a nail technician paint half of my nails white and leave the other half unpolished. I had to ask them to fix it and he did not seemed pleased at this fact. Meanwhile, I AM THE CUSTOMER and I AM PAYING FOR FULL SERVICE. He did end up fixing my nails but the whole process seemed extremely unprofessional. Not to mention I was there for three hours with not even a discount. I do not want to drive customers out, however I just want to warn the people who are looking for a nail saloon that this was my experience, and I hope this doesn't happen to anybody else. read more

Have been going here since my mother-in-law treated me to a gel mani here one year ago and love this place! They are very friendly, not overwhelming with the chatter (I can't stand places that try to sell you every product or chew your ear off), are detail-oriented, and make sure you leave happy! One time I went for a regular mani and the tech was newer and knicked my cuticle. (Ouch). Kay made sure to patch me up, make sure the mani was perfect, and knocked off a few dollars for the hassle and extra time. I LOVE how they do their gel manicures too - unlike other places, they don't shave down your real nail with the electric file. I found that would always weaken my nails, and they just use a file and buffer. The gel lasts longer than other places - and looks great! I could not say enough positive things about this place. Awful. Rip off awful. I paid $69 for a pedicure and color gel manicure only to have the Polish on my toes bubble up and the "gel" Polish on my nails chip after less than 24 hours. Even the nails that aren't chipped look like a 10yr old painted them. It's not even worth going back. I'll pay someone else to redo it. I wish I could post pics. My daughter and I went to this spa Before it closed in 2018 when it was owned by two sisters? We always had a decent experience and found the staff was experienced enough. We decided to go for a pedicure under this new ownership a few weeks ago I should have realized the moment we walked in that we should have just left. By far the worst experience ever! Felt like I was on a " What would you do " hidden camera show. I didn't want to embarrass anyone so paid the $25/each but seriously wish I could have left without paying. They must have called elderly family members in to do pedicures. No lie. I asked if the tools were sterilized because they looked like were just out from maybe previous client? No sterilizer to be seen and the towel they put under my feet looked like a rag from my garage. The person who did my daughters toenails missed about 4 all together. I realize everyone today is stretched and I do like to support local business but I also believe in getting what you are paying for when you visit any establishment. Their nail color choices and brand were pretty bad as were the total lack of pedicure product/supplies. Good thing I bring my own nail polish! Do yourself a favor and pay the extra money for an established,clean and experienced nail salon! I was going to call and ask for a refund but not worth the time and effort.Stay clear of this place. I went for the first time yesterday, after years of passing it and was pleasently surprsed! The inside was very spacious and relaxing! I didn't have an appointment, and all the technicians were helping customers, but I didn't mind waiting 20 minutes. I got a gel manicure and it was lengthy, but let me tell you.. I came for shellac polish on my fingernails and regular polish on my toes. I was with a family member as I was having them done for my wedding. First off, we had an appointment and ended up being 7 minutes late. I had called in advance to let them know we would be 10-15 minutes late. The owner said if we were any later we would have to reschedule. My issue is it was a Monday morning at 10am and we were the only customers there the entire time. This place accepts walk ins anyway.. I'll admit I am unique, but I asked for a bowl of water so I could remove my cuticles myself with my own tools I had brought. The owner was rude about that and me not wanting her to use the buffer on the top of my nails. Aside from her poor attitude the nails themselves were OK. Not the beat or worst I've had. My main issues are she did not apply polish to the tips. Thats what seals them and there should be color there. Also, she used the file to go around the nails AFTER they were done which smudged one nail on the side and further breaks the seal. That should all be done prior to polish. I would not have written the review if she had not been so unfriendly and rude. read more

I went to Nirvana after making an appt .for the first time.. this will be my LAST time ! I was not greeting at the door AT ALL ( like most places make a point to do to make you feel welcome ).. I also had to wait for a pedicure for a long time; sitting in a "dry. empty " bath vessel for over 20 minutes ( obviously short staffed) before anyone decided to come over to start filling the bath water for me to finally (try my best) to relax and enjoy ! I also had an attendant with a very cranky look on her face ; and they actually switched attendants on me mid-stream; because the person sitting next to me needed to move on to her mani from the pedi chair ...( they obviously cater solely to regulars over brand new clients.. kissing the a7%$$! of someone else that evidently has been there before )... I think that they act like they do not care for any new more business than they have ; so if you want a "Mrs/ Frosty" attitude; just come and visit here.. you will leave thinking ... I moved to Budd Lake in '07 so I've had the opportunity to visit a variety of nail spas. I recently visited Nirvana about a month ago to inquire about getting a gel manicure. When I first walked in, I was stared at like I had 2 heads! First off, I'm African American so it was kind of obvious that they were not used to people of my race as customers. The owner wasn't friendly at all, I attempted to ask her a few questions and her answers were short. I mean, why not be friendly and welcoming to a potential patron. I wasn't feeling good at all about the cold reception but I proceeded to make an appointment because I needed my nails done on a Sunday and they appeared to be the cleanest place on route 46. I got an OPI gel manicure which the owner did. Towards the end of my manicure after drying, there's a solution used. When she put it on my nails, the gel have messed up. It was obvious that it hadn't drive properly. It was almost closing time and I could tell she was beginning to rush. She said "Oh this OPI gel is thick, if you have any problems come back." She then proceeded to charge my the regular amount, no discount or anything. She should have told me that when I picked out the color or used a thinner coat when applying gel since she knew the consistency. I just didn't feel like that was good business practice on top of their already suspect behavior. I had to go back twice for them to fix two different nails that same week! One night I stopped by the salon around 6:30 and 2 of the works tried to hem me up as if I was coming to rob the place. I had to step into the light and explain several times that I needed my nail fixed, can you imagine! I am glad to say I have never really experienced racism or prejudice in this area but there is always some issue with nail salons. Is this the way Asian culture is??? I visited them a second time and this was only to see of she'd take some sort of discount from my total because of the prior inconvenience. She would not, she stated she had already done 2 nails for free. My response was if the job had been done correctly, it wouldn't have been an issue. I wanted a design but was told she didn't Have time to do it because she was behind on her appointments. They have horrible service and I would NEVER want a customer to feel the way they made me feel. Decided to give this place a try after driving by many times. I don't live in the area but my boyfriend does so I thought it'd be nice if I found a place near him where I could have occasionally gotten my nails and eyebrows done. The woman who did my eyebrows today made me look confused and lopsided. I explained that I'd been growing my eyebrows out for over a month as I'd been told they were too thin. She told me one of my eyebrows was too close to the bridge of my nose and took a chunk of hair off of my left eyebrow- which is now much further from the bridge of my nose than the other one- AND IT IS VERY NOTICABLE. I knew they looked a little off when I got up and looked in the mirror but I decided I didn't want her to continue to do anything to them. I got up, thanked the woman and left and I will never go back. I'm going to have to draw parts of my brow in. It looks really bad. Really upset I just didn't wait til I was home. The only thing I'll give them is that they were nice and the place looked clean. read more
