Dr. Kahwaji was very thorough, attentive, informative and kind in taking care of my teenage son who we found to have a genetic connective tissue disorder earlier this year. Dr. Kahwaji answered all of our questions patiently and didn't get offended when I brought up questions regarding other medical studies I've read about my son's condition or corrections I made regarding my son's medical records during the appointment. I appreciate that he didn't treat me like an uneducated, overbearing Mom, as I have experienced that with other physicians and have also had physicians tell me things regarding myself are "psychosomatic", only to later have a severe health episode (near death even) and be diagnosed with major health issues by another adept physician. I appreciate doctors that do not get offended when patients bring research and ask questions! I'm trying to teach my son to be his own best advocate, as his health issue will be life long. Anyway, they were so kind, not forcing me to lay flat which is physically impossible given the nature of my injuries. They did my leg vein ultrasound with my feet elevated, but I got to keep my back upright which was still nearly unbearable but tanks to an pain pill I survived. The sweet lady in there was super patient and gentle with me. I'm sad I forgot her name. Se was an Asian Lady. I'm not good with names and dates. Anna or Annie, maybe? I wanted to give her a good write up because she sure does deserve it.

The pacemaker was adjusted to the highest setting and my grandfather was given medicine to slow his heart rythm. This caused my grandfather a lot of pain, sleepless nights and fear. When we returned yet again to the ER we were told by doctor way that it was in his head. Doctor way dismissed us and said he was a heart doctor not an anxiety doctor. My mom drove my grandpa to Oregon to the doctor who placed his pace maker. They listened to the symptoms, adjusted the pacemaker, took him off the medicine and found a collapsed valve all this within 24 hours of being treated by Doctor way my grandfather is feeling better thanks to a second openion. Yes, parking can be difficult as they have been remodeling but they also offer valet services. My Health online is available as patient portal which makes it convenient to either message the staff and provider, cancel appointments, request medications and view test results. Each time I was told that I'd be called back when my turn came up in their referral sequence (not how they said it, but that was the meaning.) I've been waiting now for over a month since the last call and will drive down to Roseville or Sacramento. I've made the same decision for my personal physician, dermatologist and now cardio.
