We have been to Nix many times for breakfast. It is a great meeting in the middle place for our families. Also, we love the food. The omelettes are excellent. My favorite is the diet one. It is covered in hamburger, onions, and cheese. My husband likes their French toast. We always see the lunch menu posted. The variety and prices have intrigued us. Today was just the two of us so we decided to stop in. I got the hamburger steak and my husband got the seafood trio. We both got potaoes and the fried okra. Wow! Everything was fantastic! Sadly our first experience with Nix's was most unsatisfactory. The restaurant was busy which we allowed for, but after just over an hour after ordering, no food was delivered to the table. Do not go here unless you have plenty of time. When we arrived they had more wait staff than customers and one came up to us and said someone will be with you soon! 10 minutes later three other tables had filled and were getting drinks and we were still waiting. With nice big portions and you can tell the chefs really put their heart into their work! food is scrumptious! And I'm really funny about bathrooms and their bathroom is nice and clean very important to me! As for parking it is limited! I own LMS medical supplies so I pay attention to places where people can get in if they are in wheelchairs and are limited on how they're going to get to the table! Or an event! It is not handicap friendly but it is possible! I would probably call ahead of time so that they could save a table up front for you! It is for the waitresses there! This is our go out to breakfast spot. Service is quick and breakfast prices are cheap. husband loves the grits. The staff is great and you get to know the regulars as they do. Lunch and dinner choices are great. Be sure to ask for the homemade dessert menu. The owner bakes great cakes. The food is not complicated which makes my husband happy. He likes the BBQ sub. I have only visited for breakfast. The restaurant is not fancy but the food is great and the prices are almost unbelievably inexpensive. Portions are large and everything is perfectly cooked. I ordered the Manhattan skillet with the eggs over easy. Bacon was crisp, potatoes cooked right, and the eggs were cooked right. The servers are friendly and efficient. One unusual thing is that although the restaurant is not really small it is just a seat yourself place, no hostess to seat you.
