After an issue (near miss) with my sister's visit to the ED, I called to make a complaint. Never…read moreonce did I ask for information. I was attempting to give information. The Risk Manager, Rhonda Horton, just kept talking over me and hung up on me when I tried to verify her contact information, I had mistakenly written Norton because she was speaking fast. She got offended, yelled at me, "It's HORTON," and hung up on me. When I contacted her supervisor, Bruce Poppins, he also was very rude and spoke over me. He was trying to argue with me over my sister's care; however, I was merely calling to complain about Rhonda's behavior. Bruce told me I was rambling and not saying anything. When I asked for his supervisor's name, Bruce tried to refuse. He then asked why I was complaining about him. When I advised I was not going to complain about him to him, Bruce asked for my place of employment so he could call and get me fired. My phone call had nothing to do with my place of employment. This hospital is threatening to fire people who make complaints. They performed several illegal activities while my sister was there, including but not limited to: cath'ing her without permission, giving her medical information out over the phone without permission (including CT results that had not even been read by the radiologist), they discharged her with morphine onboard before the half-life was over with no ride and altered mental status. The only reason my sister knew she spent over an hour in the waiting room waiting for a ride was by looking at her text messages. She had no concept of time or where she was. Now the hospital is refusing to call and talk to her about her care because she has altered mental status, still a week later after her car accident. The hospital has decided she is too altered to talk to today but she was okay to be discharged alone a week ago. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEATH TRAP!!
