I ordered delivery from this restaurant tonight. Keep in mind my mother has ordered from them for almost 10 years. When my food came (Orange Chicken) something was off. It was hard and I was not able to chew the chicken at all. I called them to let them know and to hopefully get a new one delivered and take this one back because I really wanted my dinner. The man who answered the phone was so ROUDE! He told me that their food is always good and they don't do refunds. I was not calling for a refund but this time the food was not good and for him to talk to me the way he did was very disrespectful. He then told me that I can drive up there to get a new one or come in tomorrow morning to talk with the manager who was not in that night the hung up the phone on me. Try calling back 5 times and not answer, then my mom tried on her phone and of course answered!!!!! I jumped in the car at that point. When I drove up there 10 min later to get my money back due to the LACK of customer service guess what the manager/owner was there and she told me that was her employee and she would have a talk with him but the whole time she's saying this he continued to work like nothing happened! Do yourself a favor and DON't order/eat from this place. So many other better Chinese restaurants with a 100% better customer service. No wonder there are only 6 FB likes for this restaurant!!! I ordered shrimp lobster sauce (take out) with lo mein noodles expecting the traditional dark lobster sauce. Instead I received a thick white clumpy sauce with peas, carrots and wait for it.....wait for it.....canned corn nibblets!!!! I immediately called them and the owner refused to return my $ or offer an exchange. She actually argued with me over the phone. No respect for the customer is always right. No concession to benefit me as the customer even after I told her I would make known what's happened to me on FB & Yelp. I actually have a picture of the food I received and posted it on FB. I think this is the best Chinese take out I've had in the Chicagoland area. I realize that's a big claim, but I've had some pretty poor Chinese food in the area. The combos are great; food is hot, fresh and well-prepared. The potstickers are GREAT. Egg rolls are crispy and delicious - really good flavor. Fried rice in the combos is heavy on onions which I like, but if you aren't an onion fan, you might have to pick around them. I have no gripes about the food from No. 1 China - it is highly recommended! read more

the garlic chicken here is my favorite. I was obsessed with it when I lived in Oswego. I tried the lemon chicken here too which I liked a lot too but something about the garlic chicken was to die for. My family other than myself didn't like it and ordered at Mason Wok instead. Not impressed. Chicken fried rice had no egg, was bland, and the chicken had a gray pallor to it. Beef and broccoli was more like 20 huge pieces of broccoli with scraps of beef. My son said the orange chicken was good. Definitely not worth $22, will not go back. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places to order Chinese food. The food was tasty and they delivered. We ordered the other day and instead of their tasty fried rice they used to have, it tasted like bland frozen rice this time. I ordered the empress chicken which was one of my favorite meals here and I don't know if they changed the recipe or if they accidentally dumped a load of black pepper into my meal. Called there earlier tonight a little bit after 9. Had a slight situation come up that caused me to run a little behind. Needless to say I was somewhere not too far from the restaurant, so I just turned on the gps since I was turned around from where I normally drive from..... I was told I'd be 7 minutes from the place. Okay, cool. While on my way there, I get a call from the place as a pull up and a women was started going off on me asking where I was and why haven't I been there to pick up the food and she emphasize the fact that it had been 40 minutes. I told her I'm down the street and that I will be there shorty I gotten lost. (I wasn't at home) she then said I ordered from there now three times and I should know how to get around. I then asked her if she still wanted me to show up... The lady said I don't care. I was shocked about how she was talking to me so I just said fine just cancel my order. She said fine and hung up in my face. I called back and asked to speak to a manager. Lady who I spoke to earlier said she was one. So I told her how I didn't appreciate the way she spoke on the phone to me and I never picked up the orders from them, I just placed them. She disregarded everything I said and repeated that I've been there before and she could see it in the computer when she typed in my phone number that I've been there 3 times. At this point I was going off on how rude she was since she kept interrupting me and said F*** your food! She gasp when I said that and wanted to play victim. I used to order from this place all the time, but then one day had a horrible time trying to place my order. The girl kept saying she couldn't hear me, but clearly she could, as she took down my phone number and called me back ... finally I got someone else who took my order just fine. I used to go here every Friday afternoon when I worked just a half day and the food and service were always awesome! My company moved, my hours changed and I didn't visit for awhile. After a few years I decided to get a fix and boy, has that been a mistake. Whoever is taking the order on 3 different occasions has screwed it up! The first 2 times, I let it go, but the 3rd was too much. I stated my order to her 3 times, slowly and clearly, 3 times she repeated it back, yet I get home and it's completely wrong! I called and the employee repeated my order correctly to me, yet when I heard her talking to the manager, stated the incorrect order. Seconds before she said the right one to me, but then clearly stated it incorrectly to the manager, who then gets on the phone to tell me that she knows her employee and that she would not have made a mistake and was right! I ordered a pick up and when I got home the rice was quite hard, where it sticks in and between your teeth. I called she said she would replace the order, when I got there she screamed at me and said that the rice is good and I should have ate it. I have tried almost every Chinese restaurant in Aurora and around, so I know when the rice is hard and not good. So far East china in North Aurora wins!!!!! read more

We go there for pick up or eat in. Seating small and cramped, not always cleaned the best. Food is great! Love the sauces, sons love the spicy dishes. I go during off-peak and am in and out in ten minutes. read more

If there was an option to give zero stars I definitely would have! We ordered here from work one day and the food was gross no flavor what so ever and I am not even over exaggerating! My co worker ordered the orange chicken I tried hers and the meat was hard to chew and didn't taste like real chicken. None of my coworkers liked it as well I made sure to throw away all of the menus from the break room and told others to stay away from this place! The worst customer service experience I ever had. I make an order for close to $40 dollars requesting a 2 liter of coke waiting 45 minutes for deliver service. The driver comes back with Diet Coke. So I sent the whole order back, call them back up and the manager tells me....it's just a soda yelling at me saying y I sent my order back. The poor driver had to go to a gas station and buy a 2 liter of coke making us wait even more. She also threatens saying she wasn't going to service my address anymore! i ordered a delivery lunch special. I ordered sweet and sour shrimp. However, when i received my order it was wrong. so when i called to tell them i was told that that is what i ordered. this went on for a while. i was very upset to be told that i was lying and that i ordered something that i didn't instead of just fixing the problem. Very pleased. I picked up my order. There's a nice small eating area with a flat screen t.v. on that was not intrusive (the volume wasn't on). A couple local police officers were having their dinner there. And you can see the kitchen where a number of employees were busy with their tasks. Everything looked orderly and very clean. I ordered by phone using the online menu. I got steamed shrimp with broccoli under their lower calories items, shrimp egg rolls, wantons, and almond cookies (the order came with a couple fortune cookies as well). They got the order right and the food was delicious. I appreciate the packets of sauce they had available. The order comes with sauce but I like taking extra packs because I like so much sweet and sour sauce and soy sauce with my dishes. I'm glad they accept the Discover card there. I called in to place a delivery order and was told to hold. Then a man got on the phone and proceeded to take my order however he was very rude, was rushing me, inpatient and when my food was delivered low and behold my order was wrong. When I called in about it I was not helped graciously I spoke to 3 woman who did nothing but play hot potato with the phone. I finally ended up back speaking to the man who did nothing but blame me for his mistake and when I said I want a refund because I was unhappy with my food he said bring the food back then you will get your refund then hung up. I have never experienced such disrespect from a business in my life and will never return as a customer. Here in America in customer service the customer is always right and they should have given me my refund without me needing to be unconvinced by bring food back that they will through out any how. read more

was much better when it was China Chef by White Hen on Montgomery Rd. Just finished eating and well over half of everything is getting tossed. The broccoli chicken smelled so bad no one would eat it. Sweet and sour sauce for the sweet and sour chicken came with no pineapple or pepper in it, the chicken in the chicken lo mein was nothing but fat pieces. Egg rolls had no taste. Only good thing was the crab rangoon. 49.00 down the drain. It was the worst meal Ive ever had and will most certainly not be returning to Number 1 China. read more

My first time here was it good the older lady had an attitude when I advise her that my order was wrong and it should be a veggie egg roll. Decided to try this place again months later instead of going to east China inn and that was a bad mistake . The young girl messed up on my order and all she could say was I repeated back to you....I advised that I know and I answer no ! That is not what I want and instead of her apologizing she finished taking her phone order . I had the worst experience with this place. I called at 9:30 to place a to go order and when the lady answered the phone, she assumed I was calling for delivery and said "no delivery" and hung up on me. I call back again and told her that I wanted to place a take out order and she hung up on me again. I called a third time and asked to speak to the manager the lady told me she was the manager. She showed no interest in my complain. I told her that the service was very poor and all she could say was "ok thank you" and hung up on me a third time. I have ordered from this restaurant before and the food was just ok but after this experience I will NEVER return to this restaurant again. A restaurant that doesn't show respect or care to there customer say a lot about the owners and managers which is why ill never order from there again. I ended up calling Mason Wok and they had great service and not to mention there food was amazing.
