My wife and used to live in Pittsburgh before moving to the small town living of the Ashland-Huntington area. To say the least, we were spoiled on good Chinese food and were sad to see it go when we moved. However, the food at this place has been so amazing that we barely miss the big city Chinese places. Very good! This is one of those great chinese restaurants that offer better food than places at the mall but aren't as wallet draining as those high-end fancy places. The atmosphere is casual, the restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is good. I will eat here again. read more

The only thing worse than the food here is apparently the customer service. Honestly, I have never felt compelled [enough] to leave a negative review... and I've been to some pretty dodgy places, throughout the United States. However, I have also never dealt with anyone so rude. You can heed my warning or figure it out on your own. I will never eat from here again. I have NEVER left a review for anything before, but after the customer service I just received I feel compelled to. I placed an online order tonight for 2 orders of chicken (hot & spicy & honey) and then a quart of white rice and a quart of fried rice and an order of eggrolls. When my order arrived I only received a pint of each rice. No big deal, right? Just picked up the phone to call so they could simply refund me the few dollars extra charged for the larger sizes. Didn't even get to that suggestion before she started yelling at me on the phone telling me it isn't their fault the order was wrong it was mine. When I began to explain to her what the price was and what was ordered online she continued to tell me that she can't control what their online website says and that the chicken only comes with a pint of rice regardless of what I ordered on the website. So basically I ordered a larger size for her to tell me "sorry about your luck" & paid them extra money for absolutely no reason at all. This lady literally YELLED at me over the phone and wouldn't even let me get a word in to try to further explain their mistake. I even put my husband on the phone and he had to just set the phone down because she wouldn't stop yelling to allow him to speak. If I could give this restaurant ZERO stars, I would. Never in my life have I experienced such horrific customer service. Nor have I ever heard of food managers/owners screaming and yelling at their customers over an easy fix/simple situation that shouldn't have even been a big deal to resolve. NEVER AGAIN will I order from here. I suggest not wasting your time or money on such hatful/rude people. read more

Food is just ok for me. Nothing I have had there really stands out as excellent. The Wonton soup was horrible.

They have an outstanding lunch menu. Good value. Some items are $3.99, be sure to check the board as you walk in. Quick service. They have delivery, too. Quick delivery. I think there is a minimum order for delivery. read more

I just moved to the area and discovered this place. I am impressed with their lunch special. I had shrimp with broccoli and general tso's chicken. I thought the foods were very good. They weren't too greasy. The shrimps were quite large without a lot of extra breading on the outside. The pork fried rice that came with the lunches were also good (perfectly cooked). I had either too dry or too wet fried rice before at other restaurants. They have two locations. I ordered lunches from both. I would recommend the one on Washington Ave as the food is much better from this location. read more

Based on the after-the-meal intestinal distress and frequent trips to the bathroom, I'd call this place No. 2 Kitchen. A previous reviewer claimed it was the best in Huntington. How woefully sorry I feel for you Huntingtonians. I ordered some chicken fried rice. The chicken was so underdone and anemic that looked like it had been merely wok-adjacent. The onions, which are my least favorite ingredient, were massive and so raw that they felt nearly room temperature. The dish ordered by my dining companion was the "lunch special". I think that translated to dinky portion. I am morbidly curious about their lo-mein and will most likely try it a 2nd time. The food is really good, but the customer service is not so great. The woman that usually answers the phone during the day is really rude. I work at Amazon, and I know that people are constantly ordering food from our building. My team frequently places large group orders, sometimes as often as once a week (so, we're good customers). I've had a few so-so interactions with her, but today when I told her I needed delivery to Amazon, she said, "We had a problem there yesterday and some woman couldn't answer her phone for 20 minutes. Are you going to be able to answer your phone?" How rude! First of all, there's hundreds of people that work in this building, and we place tons of orders, so we shouldn't all be lumped together if there's an occasional problem with someone answering their phone. This evening was my first time ordering from No. 1 Kitchen in the west end. Placed an order by phone and it never arrived. Called them again about an hour and a half later, making sure to be polite as I work in customer service myself, and the same lady with a southern accent that I ordered from answers. She immediately begins insisting to me that I had told her to cancel my order because I didn't want this food anymore. "NO," she says. "You made it clear that you didn't want this order anymore." Even though I was polite from the start, she instantly blamed me for this food never showing up. She just kept saying it over and over, arguing that this was all my fault. I get it, things can be miscommunicated, but a whole room full of people observed me as I placed this order on the phone. No words even close to "cancel my order" ever took place. Just a simple order of two combo dishes to be paid with cash. Not a good first experience. I would have been fine if she would have just said "sorry about the mixup" instead choosing to instantly fight the polite customer asking about his order status. read more
