My room was small but functional, and you get some limited free wifi time but it is really cheap for a 24 hour extension. The beds have been recently replaced and are really good - I had one of the best night sleeps I've ever had when away for work. The breakfast was a bit so-so. It was fine, but not exciting. All in all, I'd return - and it has improved my view of the chain -I'd easily put this on par with a Premier Inn.

However the staff were not as nice as other premier inns I have stayed in recently, the lady checking me in wasnt bothered in my opinion. The £8.00 breakfast wasnt good and we were the first ones down so it should have been cooked to order really. The pub next door is handy but be warned its rough - Basildon as a whole is a "lively" town and you do need to keep your wits about you. The Pub is called the watermill and consists of a small bar area and a small eating area - i dont recomend either. I was with a couple of local lads so felt OK - I can see some more timid out of towners being intimidated by the edgy atmosphere. There is another Premier Inn in Basildon at the festival lesure park - its much better than this one at East Mayne. If I am stuck then I would stay here again but I know what to expect in the pub.

Our children love this location for its space and the animals on the site (horses, pigs, lambs). When the sun is shining the location of this site means its extremely peaceful and relaxing. The facilities include running water and a CDP but thats about it, but thats pretty much all you need at this site. In the surrounding areas there are some lovely walks, rides and pubs with plenty of stores a short drive away. Its proximity to Canterbury, Ashford and more means you've got plenty to visit as well. Drawbacks for me was that they only had black tea in our room (no green or decaf and I can't really drink black tea in the evenings due to high caffeine). The breakfast itself was nice, however, in my opinion, the device was way too slow, and we had to be somewhere else, so I was constantly on the edge, plus they messed up our order a bit (not a big deal, but if you are doing everything slow at least get it right)

The have free wifi and a super fast connection which there is an extra charge. They have a standard buffet breakfast for £8.99. The breakfast was okay, it's not five star dining but it definitely fills the gap. The staff are just so lovely. They accommodated all of our requests made us feel comfortable whilst traveling with many children. Because it was the new year, we were treated to complimentary bottle of Prosecco and the children got treats and books. April is the manager at this location and she was brilliant. She was very warm and kind. To be honest, she made our stay feel as close to home as it could. I'm very appreciative of April and her staff's hard work! Excellent!

Located next to High Street we were able to walk to all the restaurants, bars and pubs. Which is always a plus!!! When booking online there are options to add a breakfast but I choose not to. We did try the breakfast twice during our stay and it was ok. There were the traditional British breakfast choices. Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, baked Beans, toast, mushrooms and tomato (which I'm a huge fan of). There was also yogurt, cereal and fruit which was a good addition. From all the breakfast choices, unlimited juices (orange, cranberry, grapefruit and apple) I was most excited about the automatic self serve coffee maker! This coffee maker was impressive and made espressos, americanos, cappuccinos, white coffees and lattes in one touch! This American definitely was not searching around town for a Starbucks because of this machine!
