The reason I and leaving a one star review is because many animals were mistreated and had nasty cages with little space. There was a cockatoo in a horrid cage it had poop caked all over it, little water, wrong food, and was missing feathers from its neck. The feathers missing from its neck means something is wrong with it or it's extremely stressed! The bird was owned by a worker in the shop. This bird was extremely malnourished and unhealthy in every way possible. When me and my family first walked in there were tiny parrots in a way too small cage fighting because there is not enough space. The bearded dragons had way too small of a tank and two were crammed in the same tank that is not enough for one! The fish were the best taken care of out of any animals in the store. The bettas can see each other and that can cause them to try and fight the other which then causes stress! Overall this store smelled horrible, all animals were not properly taken care of' and lastly the cockatoo needs immediate help it is suffering and extremely unhealthy as mentioned earlier. Do not recommend supporting this store or coming to it I was extremely sad looking at all the suffering animals. read more

recently I've been getting ready to purchase a crested gecko and the employes have been a big help, and my eastern box turtle had some troubles with her eyes and asked molly about it and she recommended everything I would need to help, aswell as pointed out what was wrong with my setup/ bin that I was holding it in. I hate that I'm giving one star because the experience started out so great. I was talking with one of the ladies that worked there about getting a rat and she was so nice and helpful, but then another lady came out and she completely ruined the experience. Not one smile from her the whole time I was speaking with her and she was rude. I asked to hold a rat before buying and she said she doesn't allow that and was just rude with her responses. There is no reason to be that rude to a customer. I was going to buy some supplies there too, but ended up leaving instead. I wish I had gotten names because the one lady was so sweet and I want to credit her. However, just be aware that not everyone there is nice. read more

I have bought fish from Noah's Ark several times and had no issues. I had a cichlid tank for 15 yrs (210 gallon) and converted it to a community tank about 6 months ago and bout several varieties of Tetras that you can't get at a chain store. read more

I purchased a rat there, as well as a hermit crab shell. They have better varieties of shells for land hermit crabs than many other places. I did notice they sell painted shells as well, which is not good for the crabs, but I simply just purchased a different shell. Usually I have to order them online, which is more expensive and hit or miss as far as quality goes. The rat I purchased is adorable. He's a little more timid than I believe a rat from a smaller breeder would be, but that's to be expected, as pet stores can't interact with all of their animals one on one as often as a breeder would. He's a very sweet rat and appears to be healthy. The lady who got him out for me was very kind. She checked each individual rat in three different enclosures to tell me their genders. She treated the animals with respect and was glad to answer any questions I had. We were greeted when we walked in and I didn't notice any enclosures being dirtier than expected. All the animals appear to be well cared for. I like the wide selection of items for multiple pets. As someone who owns dogs, cats, fish, a frog, hermit crabs, geckos, and rats, it's nice to see a wide variety of items for a wide variety of animals all in one place. read more

I like this place! Employees and owner have always been helpful and have gone the extra mile to get what I wanted. If you don't see what you like they are happy to see if they can get it for you. I haven't noticed any issues with cleanliness or smells outside of the pet Shop norm. I highly recommend the crew for their friendliness and willingness to cater to your needs. Good Job! read more

This is an awesome pet store. We live an hour away and it is worth the drive. We have gotten many pets from here and when they are in season some beautiful koi. It smells like a pet store, and i can understand some people don't like that smell but to say it stinks is rude. The owner is very knowledgeable and cares for the animals he sells like they were his own pet, he try to make sure people have an understanding of the pet they are taking home. Many people see the cute bunny and want to take it home expecting it to be a cuddly ball of love only to find the extra things they need besides pellets for food, and that they live to chew wires if left unsupervised as well as they can have an attitude at times. The owner does an awesome job of making sure you have the supplies and know what you are getting yourself into. I have had various pets through my life from toads and turtles i have caught when i was a kid to pacman frogs, rats, hamsters, hedgeehogs and birds to name a few, and i always learn more when talking to the owner. Don't bother going! When I walked in, the store reeked of urine and feces. They had two baby ferrets in a cage that was filthy, littered with old food, feces, and soggy newspaper. When I asked the owner a question, he rambled for over an hour and I still managed to walk out without my questions answered. He treated me as if my questions were idiotic but yet could not answer them himself. I have tried to go in there a few times, and each time I am disgusted more by the environment. Go to Charleston. They have a clean pet store with knowledgeable staff. read more

To be honest I had know idea this place existed until a few days before Christmas. My oldest son wanted another hermit crab. I googled it and called all the pet stores near me that supposedly had some. Not one pet store had what I was looking for but Noah's ark. When I called they were very friendly and answered all my questions. I took one of my two youngest son's with to the pet store. Yes like a previous lady said it smells in there and yes not all of the cages are clean, but people need to realize it's a PET store it's going to smell and cages are going to be messy. There are only so many employees and they can only clean one cage at a time and animals/ reptiles don't care if someone just cleaned it or not they will make a mess. So unless you have been in there countless times and seen animals being mistreated then please think before you post something awful. The employees were very helpful to me and even showed my son some of their other animals and reptiles and told him about them. I plan on going back soon. I would definitely suggest this pet store to my friends. read more
