Great venue for gigs. We did a show here & the staff were all very helpful and gracious. Incredible setting in a very old, converted barn that once held hops & was a whiskey storage at some point. read more

Between this room and the café there is a corridor with some pictures on the wall that show how this cellar looked like in the past. There is probably so much more I don't know about it. This place belongs to the history of Hamburg and it's opened only on special occasions i.e. if there's an exhibition going on so come by and have a look around, you won't regret it.

A friend had invited me to "see a metal concert, and American wrestling." What neither of us knew at the time was this was all going to be happening on the Rostock-based Stubnitz ship-club-boat. As it turned out, it was actually "Rock n Wrestling", not metal, but that's by-the-by. It was certainly a unique experience. First we saw a bit of music, but then we wandered off to get a good position for the wrestling. Before the wrestling-proper got underway, two random girls got into the ring for a bit of a fight. After the first few minutes they really got into it, throwing their coats to the crowd, which was loving it. Towards the end of the night, after the first 5 or so boughts, out came "Heidi Hitler" ranting angrily, with a little moustache. Needless to say, the grand finale was all the other wrestlers coming back out and beating her down... lols I can't guarentee that any other night on the Stubnitz will be anything like this, but it's a pretty cool venue for whatever type of night...

I have now visited the Stubnitz in Amsterdam and Hamburg; two totally different parties though. Underground Electro fun in Amsterdam, and Rock nWrestling in Hamburg! Both absolutely worth it, and dont worry, even if youre not a fan of the music, the fact that youre on a ship makes it entertaining enough. Check it out!

Alright she was drunk, and did forget a few words, but it was a really good show. Her voice is incredible, and she's put together (well maybe not her) an amazing band who are all evidently very talented musicians. No matter - this review is about the venue! CCH3 is a 4k approx. capacity hall with some odd roof lighting going on. The sound is pretty is good, and they have an ruthlessly efficient German wardrobe system going on. The massive downside here is the ridiculous bar. They had one (1!) beer pump between everyone. Hence the queues for the bar were outlandish. I think I waited 30 minutes! You should bear this in mind before you see a gig here...

This place actually also has a decent library in it, a nice concert hall, a cafe and other performing rooms. It's located just round the corner from Emilienstrasse U-bahn. Strangely, it also has a pretty large trophy cabinet which contains silverware (against a Tartan backdrop) won for Pipe Band competitions! Plus last night, there was a pretty fantastic photo exhibition on the foyer.
