I received 2 emails regarding the response from the firm about my negative review of the firm and in particular Leslie Finnegan. I have changed my perspective and now declare Leslie Finnegan to be a fine attorney and having done a wonderful job. I attribute my previous negative review to my naivete as to how the legal world works. As she said, she was unable to respond to my email for 3 days, I mistakenly interpreted this to be unresponsive. I have since discovered that that turnaround time in the legal world is quite a speedy response. Also, as she stated , she estimated that the cost of my trust would be $3,000 , which I paid upfront without any work being done at inception, and since the cost to estimate was not itemized in the invoice, I assumed the cost to estimate any changes, and I stated in my review I would have been happy to pay for any changes, would follow the same pattern as the original estimate, such as when I hire a plumber, electrician, mechanic etc, I get a quote for work to be done and either accept the quote or find someone else. I was mistaken in that assumption, I have since become aware that attorneys charge for every call, email , apostrophe, comma, anything that would hint at the nuance of advice, I was naive. In her response Finnegan seems to imply that I did not want to pay for any additional work to be done , which is a false statement, which depicts me as somewhat of a deadbeat, borderline libelous , which I take seriously, just for the record my current FICO score is 815. as I stated previously, I did not even get an idea of how much it would cost because no quote was provided, I did not expect to be dropped as a client just for asking about it, but that's fine. So in that sense Finnegan did everything she was supposed to do, hold the bottom line , I'm sure she is on her way to making partner, and given my new, more aware perspective, which is to quote the old adage, " why won't sharks bite lawyers?" answer " professional courtesy" , so in that paradigm, Leslie Finnegan is indeed the quintessential attorney, worthy of 5 stars read more

This is the second time that I have used this firm in order to get non paying customers to pay up for the hard work that we have done for them. This time around I was assigned to Lindsey Berg James, Jeff Tuttle and Ann Secker. Talk about a dream team. From start to finish they were fantastic. My experience was based on a service that we provided for a client that did not want to pay and I was left with no choice but to take legal action so my experience was much different than that of the other reviewers that posted a review. In my case we reached a settlement that everyone was happy with and we move on. These attorneys that I mentioned were great to work with. They listened to me, and advised on what would be the easiest resolution so for it was an easy decision to make. I will use them for as long as I need to if I ever have any issues. I also recommend that if you are a business owner to have them look over your contracts as it never hurts to have an extra set of eyes looking over them to ensure that your contracts are ironclad. This will save you time, and headaches in the long run I assure you of it. If you find yourself in a position where you need to sue someone for nonpayment I suggest that you have all of your information prepared so that you give the attorneys a clear picture to work with. Have all correspondence ready such as texts, emails, voicemails, contracts etc this will ensure that you give them the facts to work with. We always have to remember that when suing someone the other party will only want to share what is convenient for them of course and by having everything in hand you give yourself the best opportunity to achieve the results that you desire. This is most likely the worst firm one could hire. My family had a delicate situation to deal with....unfortunately one of those was whether a family member had a legitimate child. This firm spent over $15,000.00 to school themselves on our dime to discuss the "slayer law" without even confirming it was a legitimate child. This firm told our family that they could not legally make the so called child take a dna test. First of all that would be the first thing ANYONE would ask for prior to researching the "slayer law". Thank goodness a family member had the so called child in question contacted by ourselves....not through nheh but by family. Dna was proof the child did not have any relationship to the family member involved. We have since hired another attorney to help closing a trust. Nheh has continually contacted us by email asking what is going on. Every email, text, phone call is charged by the attorneys to us when we have continually asked them not to contact us until we contact them. It is non stop with this firm and I would never recommend this firm to my worst enemy read more

I contacted this firm for a real estate litigation matter based on a recommendation from another attorney. It took them a week to do a conflict check and after repeated calls they could not be bothered to return a call to confirm whether their litigation team had the bandwidth to take on my case. As an attorney myself (licensed in NY), I was surprised at the lack of follow through and basic professionalism. If you are a company with a large book of business, you might get the attention you need but if you are an individual private client, take your business (and $550/hour) elsewhere. read more

My mother and I hired Charles Des Roches in the fall of 2019 to create a trust for my mom. He did a fantastic job with the trust. We both liked him very much. He would comment on the wonderful relationship my mom and I had. Sadly when things became complicated he failed miserably. I tried to explain the complexities of abusive nature of my family but he did not get it. When my brother insisted on becoming a co-trustee in 2022 with my mother and I, he blocked that. I thought he would protect me from this crazy family member instead, he delivered my mother right into the abusers hands. Not only did I get removed as a co-trustee (brother accused me of abuse without providing evidence) my brother moved her back to Texas. Des Roches sided with my brother whom he had no interactions with. He ignored the pages and pages of vile abusive emails he sent to me and my mother. And it gets better, he convinced my mother that I did abuse her which added to her confused state of mind. THEN expected me to continue my caregiving of her!! My mother is 85 years old with a history of dementia and trauma!!! My brother has brainwashed my mother to the point that she no longer talks to me. Had this spineless lawyer stood up to my brother to protect my mother, she would still be under my care. I had cared for her for 6 years here in Salinas and it was the happiest I had ever seen her in my life. Now she has a paid fiduciary AND care giver!!! I did all that for her and was happy to do it for 6 YEARS. My brother has now isolated my mother from everyone including her brothers who live in Texas. Please, whatever you do, do not use this law firm. It has taken me over a year to put my life back together and it is trauma is still not over. The abuser will likely fire Chuck and the fiduciary and do what he wants with her estate. Thank you for nothing Chuck. read more
