Comes to the table with a hot plate...candies underneath to keep the food warm! The menu has English translation which made it easy for us to order. Comfortable pleasing restaurant to the eye. Had the best meal here! Will definitely go back.

Gilbert, an employee quickly introduced himself and said that the restaurant is only one month old. That explains the lack of reviews. The atmosphere is calm and luxurious. The chairs are lush and it feels like a high class restaurant which, luckily, the prices do not reflect. I ordered a caiprihana, a traditional Brazilian drink to start off. I know, weird for an Indian restaurant but it is my favorite drink and they made it perfectly! I ordered two entrees so I could try their tandoori speciality and my favorite chicken tikka Masala. The lamb was out of this world. Perfectly cooked. So tender. This was the meal I was waiting for. For lunch I had gone to a touristy German place and got lamb that was just so disappointing. The lamb here melted in my mouth and had just the right seasoning that you look for in Indian cuisine. The chicken tikka masala was everything I wanted it to be. On top of the amazing food, service was on point. Gilbert took great care of me and even gave me a free schnapps to wrap up my meal! I will be back for sure. If you are in Heidelberg, skip the expensive tourist restaurants and head over here.

I seated myself at a table, and someone brought me a menu promptly. It was quite hefty, showing that this place had more options than what you could see at the grab and go counter in the front. It is all in German, so English speakers be prepared, but other than that it was easy to navigate and had many options for all palates. I ordered the falafel teller (plate) and a water, and while I was waiting and small basket of pita bread (very thin) was brought to my table. When my meal arrived, the falafel was very hot, obviously fried fresh, and the sesame dip was splendid with it. My simple side salad was also very refreshing, as I was still hot from exploring the castle ruins that morning. I highly recommend this place to anyone in Heidelberg. Whether you want a quick snack or a sit down meal, this place will have you covered. It is also very reasonably priced compared to everything around as well!

I love visiting Heidelberg when I'm in Germany and walking through the streets imagining I am a college student at a gorgeous European campus of the oldest university in Germany. We saw this highly rated spot while walking along the cobblestone streets and decided to stop for food. We ordered the mixed plate which featured babaganoush, hummus, falafel (donut shaped), potatoes, eggplant, roasted cauliflower, salad, spinach pastry, and cheese pastry. When I tell you were could not stop raving about each and every aspect of this dish, I am not exaggerating. I legitimately think the people at the table next to us got annoyed at these overly animated Americans. I will dream about these donut-shaped falafels as there is nothing like them where I live (so so far away). We also opted for a glass of Lebanese dry white wine, which was super crisp and pleasant. Overall, a must-try when in Heidelberg. I wish I had been able to take some more to-go- especially since we saw that that they have convenient lunch-box style offerings for the college students.

The weather was beautiful for sitting outside. I wish I had gotten our server's name because he was outstanding. Friendly, witty, and willing to help navigate the menu - he made our dining experience even better. We started with a couple of local wines that were amazing - a red and a rosé. Some bread and butter came to our table with our escargot starter and side salad. The bread and starter were delicious. Our snails were hot and garlicky with plenty of juice to sop up. The side salad was also very tasty and fresh. For our mains I went with the Schnitzelbank Platter and my lady went with the Pepper Schnitzel. My platter came with a local delicacy called saumagen, as well as roasted pork, sausage, roasted potatoes, and sauerkraut. The saumagen was the highlight for me. Our server was also excited we got it. It is a local offering consisting of various meats and other items wrapped up in a stomach and served as a loaf-style meat. The pepper schnitzel was also outstanding - the sauce was indeed peppery, but it didn't smother the schnitzel, which was breaded nicely and not dry, as some schnitzels can be. And after all that food, still, an apple strudel. This was so worth it. I don't even like sweets in the USA, but in Europe, they are something else. This was something else. We had a lot of great meals on our trip, but this was probably the best. Not just for the food, but for the overall experience, it's easy to see why this is the shining star in Heidelberg.
