I've been to Nomad Reserve a couple times. This most recent time was for their brunch. Their dinner menu is a bit more extensive and with better options compared to their brunch menu. For brunch I had the mimosa carafe, lobster and waffle with mac and cheese and yams as sides. The lobster was okay, I didn't really enjoy the breading flavor however the actual lobster was cooked well and buttery. The waffle was very dense because it was a jalapeño cornbread mix (which I should've read the description better). I would've preferred a traditional fluffy waffle to accompany the lobster. I did enjoy the yams + mac and cheese and had enough to take home. The service was pretty quick and our waitress was very pleasant as well. Plenty of parking available. read more

I wanted to LOVE this place. The atmosphere looked fun with lots of places to take photos and the food ( reason for coming, the food looked delicious) pictured looked very very delicious. I was so happy to share yet another great restaurant with my friends. When I arrived at the establishment I was immediately taken back by the extremely loud music and the pervasive smell of marijuana. Sigh. Do that at home before yoi leave! I HATE that smell. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We came here expecting bottle service, but when we arrived, we were told it was actually BYOB. The waitress told us it would be $15 to open our bottle, so we agreed. After we had already opened the bottle, drank it, and received the check, she suddenly said it was actually $15 per person instead of $15 total. There were three of us, so we were charged $45 just to open one bottle. If we had been told the correct price upfront, we never would have agreed. To make matters worse, the waitress couldn't even get one of our food orders right. It's hard to believe she claims she clearly explained the bottle charge when she couldn't even get a simple order correct. Instead of taking accountability for the misunderstanding, she insisted she had explained the charge correctly, but she never once said it was per person. The music was also so loud that we couldn't hear each other at our own table. We had to raise our voices just to have a normal conversation. As security walked by, he told us to quiet down. We explained that we were only talking louder because of the volume of the music, but instead of understanding, he told us to leave. On top of that, my bill was over $70 for just one pasta dish and one drink, and we also had to pay for valet parking. Between the misleading information, hidden charges, incorrect food order, lack of accountability, and being asked to leave for trying to have a conversation over the music, this was by far one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I was invited to a Galentine's event with my friends. The customer service was excellent very quick and friendly. The decor and layout of the restaurant is perfect for groups and a great date spot. My group ordered the lamb chops with grits and eggs, the biscuits and gravy with eggs, chicken and waffles, fried cauliflower, fish and grits, and a crab cake. The service was really good. Our server took great care of us. The kitchen did as well since there was a miscommunication that the crab cake came with no sauce if a la carte. The food overall was pretty good. The lamb chops were cooked reall well. We got them medium. The biscuits and gravy had good flavor. I'm assuming the chicken and waffles were good since my friend cleaned his plate. We made it to Nomad Reserve last night since it's been on our list. Off the back, I do not like the mandatory $20 to park after 5pm when it's a whole open parking lot!! But we paid it anyways. We walked in and the aesthics are gorgeous! It's just cute cute! They had the r&b music going so it was a whole vibe. We made reservations and we're sat down right away. However we sat waiting on a waitress and water for about 15 minutes. But once we got one the experience got better. We ordered "sitting sidewayz" for the drinks and it was GOOD! We ordered the wings and we're a little puzzled cause they were on the small side but it was alot of them. They were Hennessey and lemon pepper for the flavor and them thangs were soooo good. We were licking our fingers! For the entree I had catfish and etouffee and Darrell had the rib eye steak burger with fries. When I tell you this food was sooooo good and hot. Thank you to the chef! The crowd is a little on the younger side..maybe 25 and up..but they are not there twerking on tables..they are there for the hookah and pictures. So if you don't mind that... give them a try. They do seem to be birthday party central. Everyone was celebrating yesterday. They do auto add that gratuity though..no matter the size of the party. If you live here and enjoy hookah, of course you're family with the original Nomad at the corner of Fountainview and Westheimer, which is now closed to make way for this new and very much improved NOMAD RESERVE. It's absolutely beautiful inside and the outside patio area is so cute!! Beautifully decorated with a full bar, so no more BYOB. The happy hour specials were amazing! At the time of review, 1/18/25 $5 frozens, $7 lemon drops and margaritas. The food was great, just like the original Nomad. Our waitress - so sorry I forgot her name was very polite and helpful. I would like to give this place a good review but on top of paying $20 to park in a regular parking lot with other stores that they use the spots after they close to charge patrons they also will add extra tip on your card on top of the gratuity and extra tip. I went for a friend's birthday dinner on a Saturday May 16th 2026 and my bill was initially $50. With the auto gratuity it came to $64.12, which okay cool, although I feel in some places auto gratuity is a reason to give bad service but tbh the service was actually good. The girl showed me my bill on a toast swipe machine, which I should've asked for a paper bill and receipt, and it said the original price of $50 then the total price of $64. I asked if it was auto gratuity and she said yes and I tipped an extra $5 because her service was good. So thats a total of a $19 tip on a $50 bill. I check my card on Monday afternoon and the bill was at $84.13 for the final amount. So you took my $50 original bill then added gratuity of 24% then I added an extra $5 just cause for you to take a $69 bill and up it to $84. Every time I call I get a vm and I disputed it with my bank. That is thievery and ridiculous. read more

I came here for a special event and was very much disappointed. From the beginning, we received neglectful service. I tried to give them a chance & be patient, but they fell short. I wonder if they care less about the service since gratuity is automatically included. It took over 30 minutes to get a drink, and the server never came to check on us. The mashed potatoes were very good but my salmon could've used a little more flavor. My cocktail was watery but maybe it was just mine. What I liked most was the look of the restaurant, it was cute. The lighting is not good so if you want to take pictures be mindful of that. Luckily we had a ring light. Lastly, the dj does bring a good vibe to the restaurant but its also very loud. As an establishment, customer service should be a top priority and can make or break your success as a business. I was part of a large party and y server, Bre (spelling) did not appear to be well trained and equipped to handle a party of our size. There was no rhythm or flow to how she operated. She often forgot things, our order was taken in a staggered fashion (I'm almost certain she forgot to take half of the table's order) but I digress. My major concern and a reason for never wanting to return is the management, or LACK thereof. It took an additional 20-30 minutes for me to receive my food. I ordered empanadas (appetizer) and the lamb chops (main). Both came out at the same time 20-30 minutes after the last person received their food. I was literally the last person eating in my party because of this. When I received my food, it was incorrect. I brought this up to my waiters attention. She first offered to have it corrected and I refused due to it already taking so long for my food to come out. I explained the lack or urgency and other mishaps we had experienced as a group and noted that it was simply unacceptable and opted for some type of compensation; to which Bre reviewed my tab an stated the empanadas would be comped. Only to later come back and say that her "manager" (the chef) will not comp the empanadas. I requested to speak to the "manager" who refused to come speak to me, a paying customer with an issue at hand. Instead of being a manager and rectify the situation she insisted on relaying information through Bre. This "manager" insultingly offered to provide a 15% off the empanadas to which I refused. I broke down everything to Bre once again, so that it could be relayed to the "manager". The issue could have been resolved way sooner and I could have been able to enjoy my meal with less interruptions had the manager actually MANAGED the restaurant. Not to mention after finally reaching an agreement, the "manager" was seen mingling with other tables, having a laugh; but she couldn't have been bothered to actually do her job. At this point, the ambiance of the restaurant don't matter because I won't be back. DO BETTER NOMAD RESERVE. This experience is definitely something that will keep me from returning. I hope all staff receive some type of training; especially management staff. read more
