So I went to this establishment today I ordered a Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich. One word describes this thing they have clearly falsified on their menu.....DISGUSTING! Sandwich was made very sloppy which was an automatic turn off then to make matters worse it wasn't even real Chicken!!! Some processed garbage over breaded with no taste cut into strips! Many people seem to love Nonna's. It's been quite some time since we've eaten there so we decided to get takeout from there last night. What a disappointment ... we ordered chicken parm which had some thin strip of tasteless, dry chicken. Whatever happened to a nice big piece of a juicy breaded cutlet??? I couldn't eat it. We also ordered the pasta w/sunday sauce I think it's called. The sauce on the pasta was good as was the sausage and the brachiole. The meatballs however were dense and awful, neither of us could eat them. Sadly Nonna's is off our list of places to eat. read more

I only came to this place once with my family. But once is more than enough. My wife and I have two kids, ages 3 and 5. You'd think that just about any pizza/Italian place would be kid friendly, but they are absolutely not. Yes, they have high chairs, but that's it. No crayons, no kids menu or kids portions. About the bathrooms: DISGUSTING. Not only was it not clean at all, but the choice of tile makes it look even worse. The tiles are a dark urine color, with random little splashes of red and brown that I think were intended as artful texture. But it really just looks like someone made a deficating mess all over the place. And to make things worse, the bathrooms can only accomodate one person at a time. Yet there is plenty of space to build a stall and a urinal. So if your kid is ready to pee in their pants or worse, get in line! The service was far from professional. I was server for enough years to know what it's like to be in the weeds and I know what good service is and what it's supposed to look like. It was a Saturday night at 7 and it was busy. A lot of the staff looked to be in a panic, literally running across the dining floor. I'm waiting for an accident to happen. I think we had bad luck with our server because I noticed others that had a much better demeanor. She rushed through our order, almost left without taking our kids order (I had to stop her from leaving). One time I flagged her to ask a question. She looked at me from far across the room like, what the hell could you possibly want? And she didn't approach the table to listen to my question. I wasn't gonna yell across the room to order a side of veggies for the kids. I had to raise my brow and gesture to come over here. Hello?! When a customer flags you down, you nod and put a finger in the air for "one minute sir" or you walk over there and tend to the issue. When the bus boys cleared the table, they would look at you and say "fork". I'm sorry, what? "Fork." He nodded toward the plate. Oh, the fork is on the plate and he wants me to take it. It would be great if they could speak in whole sentences. They did this twice. We were served soup, which only comes in a large bowl size portion, by the way. We had hardly had a chance to enjoy them because both our kids had to use the bathroom. (get in line!) so when we finally got back, our server almost took our soups while we were still eating. She put a hand on the plate and said "Your entrees will be out really soon." I just looked at her (chewing my food) and then she got the hint and said "Oh no rush," leaving quickly as possible as usual. So that sucked, but the food was ok. read more

Love this place. We order delivery all the time. The only negative is the extremely disinterested girls on the phone when you order. It's as if they are doing us a huge favor every single time we call to order. It has made me think twice about ordering again, but the food and speedy delivery bring me back every time. read more

I must admit I was an out of towner visiting on a work trip when I needed a quick bite for the long travels home when I Yelped top rated spots close to me and up came Nonna's. The line was crazy and the place was packed so I was excited. Since it was on the company and I needed lunch and dinner for the long ride home I order a steak and cheese, calamari and two garlic balls. The guy at the counter was the opposite of greeting and dont think he ever looked at me one time while I was ordering. He did offer me to go get an open box off the trash can to help carry my food and drinks which I politely declined. Moving along... Boy oh boy when I got back into the rental the food smelled delicious! After safely getting to the highway I start to dig in...first the calamari saving the sub for later....rubbery over peppered frozen Calamari. After a few of those I decided to abort mission and go to the sub, who doesnt love a good steak and cheese?! Well after a bite I couldnt figure out what the awful taste was. At first I thought it was the Steak was extra salty or maybe I bit into a bad part but I tried again this time noticing warm liquid pouring onto my shirt! I look down and see my steak and cheese was filled with cheese wiz/yellow cheese!?!?! Where I am from we use white cheese and have never heard of such a thing. Different areas different recipes I dont fault them for this but never will I order out of state without clarifying again because this was not my cup of tea. That was 0 for 2. With several hours of driving left I said no problem, Ill have my two balls and last until I find something later on the highway until I took one bite into the first one and was greeted with a mouth full of liquid oil butter grease all of the above!! I literally gagged as this poured into my mouth. To this day I cant comprehend the how much was instead this ball of dough/bread. This review is for takeout only. Their broccoli pinwheels are still insanely good. Melty inside and caramelized on the bottom. Their pizza quality has slipped somewhat as of late. I visited Nonna's on a Saturday night around 6pm. We were seated promptly and our server immediately opened the bottle of wine we brought, since it's BYOB. Delicious bruschetta comes to every table with a basket of bread, such a treat. We ordered Penne Vodka w/ Chicken and Chicken Francese. Both meals were large portions, and absolutely delicious. I was here for a friends baby shower about a month ago. so I am judging based on the accommodations they made for a party of 25+ people and it's all food remarks. The staff that helped us were very interested in making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Upon leaving, the cooks thanked us and made sure we had a good time. So the plan for today was to work in the office and pick up dinner at Nonna's Pizzeria in Florham park. I ordered online at 5:17 and was emailed my order would be ready around 6:02. I go in around that time, and of course they are busy and there is a line. No big deal. I get to the front and they tell me it will be about 10-12 min more. Ok no worries, now the waitress is trying to keep social distancing and having people wait outside. She took names and told them to wait outside. Some people had been there for an hour already. They were still waiting. She kept them outside, I was inside. The more we waited the more we got aggravated, natural right? Well when I asked again where my food was they couldn't find the ticket, they found it and said it was ready but no one could find it. I asked to cancel my order, they would not do it. Instead I was given 2 large pies and my calzone so I would stop bitching. That SOB should have gone outside and told the 30 people, and I am not kidding to stop bitching and see if he made it out alive. NEVER NEVER NEVER WILL I RETURN THERE FOR FOOD. If you can't handle the business then you shouldn't take online, door dash, phone orders, in house orders, delivery orders and walk ins. I've dined-in at Nonna's 4-5 times this year so far and it hits a homerun every time. New Jersey has a lot of Italian restaurants and what I'm finding out is, a lot of these restaurants think they're MUCH higher end they really are. You open the menu and see $$$$ you think, "Wow, this is going to be really good Italian tonight..." and then you start eating and think to yourself "What a ripoff, I've had much better Italian at a pizzeria..." Nonna's is that pizzeria you're thinking of whether you realize it or not. And I don't use the label "pizzeria" disparagingly at all. Again, this is Jersey. But what it translates to is VALUE. I can order something at a "higher-end" Italian place then order the equivalent at Nonna's and get double the portion at double the flavor and half the price. I describe the food as what your Italian grandmother (!!!) would make for you on a Sunday afternoon if you went over to her house for dinner. Flavor everywhere, shareable portions, tasty sauces, perfectly cooked proteins... What's telling is, the only thing I haven't really eaten there that much is the pizza! I should make a note to do so. The place gets very crowded, as the locals clearly already know what I'm trying to describe here. One minor issue is it could take some time to wait for a table, and unfortunately, the "waiting area" essentially because hovering in front of the pizza counter while take-out customers are in and out in-between everyone. read more

The only Italian restaurant/pizzeria in the area I go to while at work. Around here it's very hard to find a good place to eat & this is one of the best places in the area. The pizza is to die for, delicious! Just a little heads up, order ahead of time and just come pick it up. Place is very popular and gets crowed fast, especially around lunch time. Parking in the place sucks, so be prepared to drive around to find a spot. The pasta just ensure to let them know how you want it cooked because sometimes it may be over cooked. The food is very good, but they loose star because you feel like you are being rushed out. Usually, this doesn't bother me, but it happens EVERY time I go there. They must have a "bums rush" policy in place. You pick up your buttered bread and take a bite, but when you go to put it back on the bread plate, it's gone along with your knife and fork. Things are constantly swept off the table. You have to keep a sharp eye. If you see a waiter or bus boy coming near...surround your food and utensils. Very family friendly atmosphere. Our waitress was wonderful- when you first enter you see what looks like primarily a pizza take out restaurant. But when you enter the restaurant the menu offers so much more. We had pasta with meatballs and delicious sauce, eggplant Parmesan and Chicken Parmesan. Our grandson had a slice of pizza. I have been working in the area for months. I eat dinner at an area restaurant 4 nights per week. My travel pattern is to have a regular stop on Monday and Tuesday and try new places on Wednesday and Thursday. Nonna's makes a great pizza, delicious soups and great salads. The service staff needs a little work, i went in with my family on a night that wasnt busy and it took a while just for someone to get a drink order from us then took 20min after getting our drinks to take our food order, the food came out properly but there was alot,of lag time. I used to live in Madison but moved northwest to Mt. Arlington right around the time this restaurant opened so never ate here before. A friend asked me to join him for dinner, his treat, so it was a no brainer! He suggested we share an entree of baked ziti. I was starving as I had missed lunch and was doubtful it would be enough to eat. He assured me it was. OMG, our "shared" portion was the size of a regular portion elsewhere! And the sauce (okay, for you Italians out there, the "gravy") was amazing. The hot, bubbly, oozy, cheesy deliciousness was by far the BEST baked ziti EVER! Love the appetizer portion of bruschetta which precedes meals and our server was kind enough to warm our bread for us, making it crispy on the outside but soft and yummy on the inside to melt the oodles of butter which came with it. While we were there, the people at the next table ordered a full portion of ziti. When it came I realized why my friend had suggested we share...it was literally a platter of pasta! We were seated immediately by the mother of the one of the owners, our server was attentive and other staff stopped by periodically to see if they could do anything to make our meal more enjoyable. Been here a couple of times. The first time my wife and I had soup, Caesar salad, penne pasta, and zuppa de claims over linguine. The salad was dry and tasteless. The rest of the meal was good but nothing special. However the service was terrific and atmosphere welcoming so it was worth a second visit. On the second visit we just went with pizza and OMG it was amazing! We had the grandpas pie with the sauce over the cheese and the Nonnas pie. I liked the Nonnas pie better. The sauce had a sweet unique taste that I have never had before. I am a huge fan and will definitely be going back. Plus it is right next door to the very yummy Red Mango for dessert! read more

Modonna mia! This place is the crowned jewel of Florham Park - and my personal favorite Italian restaurant in NJ. Where shall I begin? I always consistantly order the sausage with broccoli rabe and pasta, which is absolutely divine! I am sure that is ridiculously bad for you but it is fine for a once in awhile treat! My family always shares whatever they get with everyone else so I have pretty much sampled every entree as well as app on their menu and I am in love with them all!! The only thing that could occasionally use some work would be the calamari. Sometimes it is delicious and "melty" soft...other times it is a bit rubbery. This is pretty much anywhere you go, though. The atmosphere of this place is also awesome - for such a small place, there's a lot of energy flowing through by both the staff and sometimes the diners. I will never forget the one time we went here with my parents and 2 other couples that are friends with my parents...so there was 8 or ten of us altogether and we took up the whole back table and we were just having such a great time back there!! The waitress brought out a meal for the one woman in our group who didn't want vegetables with her meal, so the waitress told her she brought her extra potatoes instead. I don't know why we all thought this was the best thing ever, but we all literally started clapping and yelling, "Yay, more potatoes!! Woo-Woo!!" and then it was just a theme for the night - every time the waitress came back out to hand us something, we began the chant again - and the entire restaurant was chanting and clapping with us! Pretty funny and there was no alcohol involved so I'm not sure why we were all so kooky! But it was a great memory that I have from that place. read more
