2 stars Back in the EARLY 2000s, Noodle World was so fantastic that they expanded to many parts of LA county and, I think, the inland empire, too. San Marino was one of these additional locations and the dishes were once quite consistent. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend getting a pad thai here anymore. My dish looked like the noodles were drowning in sauce and the eggs were mush. For the time-being, Alhambra is likely the only location where the dishes are very consistent. There is free street parking only. San Marino's location is pretty quiet these days and nothing like what it used to be. read more

The first time we tried Noodle World after visiting The Huntington right around the corner. We order the House wonton soup and its tasty to my personal preference.. it is proportional to the price. It has a lot of stuff besides wontons and soup base is clear and flavorful. We also order sate and its cones with toast cut in small triangles and peanut sauce and pickles. I used to come to noodle world during my college days in 2000 and since they closed their restaurant in Pasadena, I found they have it in San Marino and decided to come here for late lunch. The menu is still similar and the pricing is definitely unbeatable. For a bowl of noodle soup with pork and veggies, you can share it with 2 people and it's only $15. The fried tofu and pad Thai are still good as well. Definitely still Noodle World that I know in 2000. I wish they would open one in Inland Empire! read more

This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. I used to go to their San Gabriel location, and I'm very glad that this one opened up closer to me. Plus, this restaurant is definitely not as crowded as the San Gabriel one, so service is always prompt and quick. The food is amazing; my favorite dishes are either the seafood pho or the charbroiled pork chop. The seafood pho comes with mussels, shrimp, and squid, which a lot of other restaurants do not offer. The charbroiled pork is always perfectly cooked and the marinade is the perfect mix of savory and sweet. There is a lot of seating available in the restaurant, especially during lunch time when they are not as busy. Parking is also pretty easy since there's a lot of spaces out front. Overall, this restaurant is both delicious and nostalgic. I will definitely continue coming here! read more

Though the plates were large, I counted 3 shrimp in the pineapple fried rice, which quickly reminded me of the price of convenience. If you like spicy and sour food, I'd highly recommend their tom yum noodle soup and try it with their boat noodle chili . It's bomb! The chili has just the right amount of heat so your lips and tongue won't end up throbbing. There's a bunch of ingredients in the bowl. The fish cake is fresh and they already removed the shells off the shrimps (not a lot of restaurants would do that for you) the chicken is standard white meat. Their Thai tea is good too; not watery or too sweet. The service is always great; food comes out real quick. The staff would always check on you here and there, making sure everything is ok. The hainam fried chicken rice is tasty, it's better than the one in Valley Blvd. The sticky rice mango is very delicious. The place is nicer too than the one in Valley. Thai service is great as usual. My only complaint is they don't have normal panang curry or normal coconut curry soup. They only have strange milk base soup, or if you want to modify the other noodle soup to make it more normal (e.g tom kha, change to beef or change to noodle), you have to pay more. read more

They are always the BEST! So this was our first time here in Pasadena location, my group was not aware of their store hours so we came 30 mins before closing (sorry!) but we got what we all wanted!!! VERY VERY VERY DELICIOUS! As always, we normally go to their Alhambra location but since we were around the area and craved for noodles - we went and tried here and YES! of course, they did not disappoint. The service was super fast! At first we were apprehensive and compared right away with their other place Alhambra fav location - in here the light was dim, not a lot of people eating... Unfortunately, this meant I was stuck with Beef Pad See Ew. Usually I am excited about this dish (from other restaurants), but the Noodle World version tasted bitter and burnt (and even smelled burnt as I opened up the box). Staff was super accommodating considering they don't take reservations and we had 9 people. They were able to put our name down and had a spot ready to go when we arrived. This is a pretty big spot, and I wouldn't call it a dive, just your usual Asian food spot with fun decor and lots of tables. Being from Seattle, we're well versed in a variety of Asian foods. This spot fell flat for me. I got the sesame beef and was expecting the type of sesame beef I normally have back home. i had been coming to noodle world for probably 15-17 years , alhambra location. they opened this san marino a while back and i always like the food, ambiance, service. i dont know what happened here but their food quality and service has taken a nose dive in the past 2-3 years. inflation? sure, lack of business? sure, but the fastest way to combat it is to ensure you have good taste food and consistency. i stopped by for lunch trying my fav pad see ew and gosh it was so salty as if the chef just poured a whole bottle of soy sauce to darken the color to make it look tastier. couldnt you please taste it first or have some consistency in the food you serve. asked for house chili, waitress gave me small plastic cup.. come on. i understand inflation is eating the profit but the food price has increased by 60% since covid, im going to give you a tip, could you please give me a bit more? i was quite disappointed w that and i didnt even bother to ask for more. honestly if im the waiter, id give the customer much more to get more tip and to make them happy and make the rest. busier. i hope the owner can read this review and improve these items especially the food quality as i sense "lack of care" from the chef. feel bad for the waiters though because theyre not going to make enough tips if the food doesnt improve. read more

Love this place! So many different things to order and choose from! The Rare Steak Pho has always been my fav and the Pad See Ew noodles. Parking is a little difficult cause you have to find it in the store front or on the side streets. There are lots of tables! There wasn't anyone to greet us right away but when the waiter came up, he was really nice and helpful. He brought us hot water with lemon on a freezing night, it was perfect! He also asked if we wanted an extra bowl when we ordered soup, so he thought ahead! We ordered the Rare Steak Pho and Green Curry. Both were good! The Pho's broth was very tasty! This Noodle World location has never changed a bit in terms of friendly staff, delicious and fresh food, and the amazing flavors I come back for! My friends, family, and I have had multiple dishes here, every dish made quickly and served HOT (or cold) depending on your dish, with every Asian flavor. My favorite go-to is the Noodle World Tom Yum Noodle Soup - its a heart-warmer with a spicy kick to it. As an appetizer, Pork Egg Rolls have a crunchy and fresh bite to them. It's always been my favorite way to eat them - with lettuce and dipped in fish sauce! Another dish that is a must-try is the Sirachagetti, which probably should be their signature dish. The beef stew had poor cuts of meat, tasted way too sweet and muddy. Very forgettable. Vietnamese spring rolls were bland, had little meat and also not memorable. I am so glad the lemongrass pork noodle is back. It was off the menu for a while and I was so happy I could order it again. When I first had this years ago at the now closed Pasadena location, I thought it was one of the tastiest things I had ever eaten, and the one in San Marino was DELICIOUS. Had lunch with some friends Monday and we a really great time. Our server Eva was the best to ever do it! She was all over the place to exceed our expectations. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the kitchen lost 1 of our orders. 1 of my friend's food literally didn't come out until we were all done eating. Pad see you was a bit too sweet for my preference, and the beef of the Hong Kong pan fried noodles was a bit tough to chew on. Let's start with the good... Service was good and servers were all pretty friendly. The food portions are pretty large even appetizers. I ordered Vietnamese hand rolls and it was three pretty large ones. Now onto the bad, I also ordered pork chow mein crispy noodles and it just tasted off. The heavy gravy is extremely salty and has a sour taste to it. This dish is usually my favorite when ordering noodles but I just can't see myself coming back here with so many other terrific options nearby.
