The staff super friendly and attentive. The place is cozy and family oriented. Its located right at the busy street of Huntington Drive. The first time we tried Noodle World after visiting The Huntington right around the corner. We order the House wonton soup and its tasty to my personal preference.. it is proportional to the price. It has a lot of stuff besides wontons and soup base is clear and flavorful. We also order sate and its cones with toast cut in small triangles and peanut sauce and pickles. Sate is very good very tasty and delicious. You can taste the spices in the sate. So you can eat the sate without sauce and pickles. Overall the wonton soup and sate are great dishes.

I used to come to noodle world during my college days in 2000 and since they closed their restaurant in Pasadena, I found they have it in San Marino and decided to come here for late lunch. The menu is still similar and the pricing is definitely unbeatable. For a bowl of noodle soup with pork and veggies, you can share it with 2 people and it's only $15. The fried tofu and pad Thai are still good as well. Definitely still Noodle World that I know in 2000. I wish they would open one in Inland Empire!

This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. I used to go to their San Gabriel location, and I'm very glad that this one opened up closer to me. Plus, this restaurant is definitely not as crowded as the San Gabriel one, so service is always prompt and quick. The food is amazing; my favorite dishes are either the seafood pho or the charbroiled pork chop. The seafood pho comes with mussels, shrimp, and squid, which a lot of other restaurants do not offer. The charbroiled pork is always perfectly cooked and the marinade is the perfect mix of savory and sweet. There is a lot of seating available in the restaurant, especially during lunch time when they are not as busy. Parking is also pretty easy since there's a lot of spaces out front. Overall, this restaurant is both delicious and nostalgic. I will definitely continue coming here!

The place is clean and right off Huntington drive in San Marino. The service is as quick as the meal you order- ramen is quicker than chicken or fried rice, etc. The fried rice was good but it needed more flavor as did the chow mein. The fried chicken and rice was a perfect dish, a definite must order.

So so good would recommend it if you are sick our new to go soup restaurant Amazing!

    mango sticky rice

The hainam fried chicken rice is tasty, it's better than the one in Valley Blvd. The sticky rice mango is very delicious. The place is nicer too than the one in Valley. Thai service is great as usual. My only complaint is they don't have normal panang curry or normal coconut curry soup. They only have strange milk base soup, or if you want to modify the other noodle soup to make it more normal (e.g tom kha, change to beef or change to noodle), you have to pay more.

Food was super tasty! Service super quick and friendly. Pretty simple interior. I miss the booth seating! Regardless, sitting by the window is always a pleasure :)

They are always the BEST! So this was our first time here in Pasadena location, my group was not aware of their store hours so we came 30 mins before closing (sorry!) but we got what we all wanted!!! VERY VERY VERY DELICIOUS! As always, we normally go to their Alhambra location but since we were around the area and craved for noodles - we went and tried here and YES! of course, they did not disappoint. The service was super fast! At first we were apprehensive and compared right away with their other place Alhambra fav location - in here the light was dim, not a lot of people eating... (later we found out it is because they are closing lol!) - so yeah, all your apprehensions will go away as soon as you received their flash service, good food and great staff! Try their pork barbeque its the most delicious for me and I think all their food are good for 2! Enjoy my shared pics!

As we were walking towards the…read morerestaurant, I noticed their big glass windows, warm lights, and occupied tables with happy faces making it inviting. We joined their waitlist on their tablet near their counter and we were seated within 5 minutes. Just like the other location in Rowland Heights, it's very busy on a Friday night! The restaurant overall is very clean except near the entrance due to high foot traffic. It's decorated with Chinese lanterns, cherry blossom, and bamboo trees placed in the middle of the restaurant. It almost felt like I was dining at a high end restaurant. It's significantly smaller than the other location, but the high ceilings give it a spacious atmosphere. There are plenty tables and booths. Be aware the booths do move easily when you get out of your seat. We were sat in the booth closest to their entrance which I didn't mind at first, but after a while the high foot traffic was distracting (maybe they could place a divider between the waiting area and the booth). Onto the food, pricing, and service: portion is generous and they are more affordable than the Rowland Height's location. I ordered the Bbq Chicken Fried Rice. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. It was easy to take off the bone. The fried rice was light, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I couldn't finish my plate (even though I wanted to) so I boxed the rest to take home. My husband got the Continental Fried Rice. A dish Banana Bay is well-known for. The chicken skin was crispy, the fried egg was yolky in the center, the sausages were soft, and the fried rice was consistent with my plate's. Service was great and the staff was attentive even during their peak hours. I gained a sense of relief when more than one waitress checked in on us periodically. Overall, my husband and I had a great first impression. We're already talking about coming back in the near future. We ordered the Rad Na with beef for $13.99, Crying Tiger for $14.49, Banana Bay Special Pad Thai for $13.59, Pad See Ew with beef for $13.59, and cup of Steamed Rice for $1.99. Felt the portions were small and the dishes tasted burnt and too sweet. Found little burnt specks in our food making us wonder if they clean or use really old pans. We also found a tiny winged insect in our Rad Na. None of us were fond of the food. Felt the serve was really good, probably because of where we sat.

Overall, the food was enjoyable and I would be back for a quick lunch spot that serves solid chicken rice. Half fried/half grilled high on chicken rice, 8.5/10: both the grilled and fried chicken were hot and crispy. The chicken was cooked well and nicely seasoned. I thought the chicken could use a tad bit of salt though. The soup it came with was piping hot and accompanied the rice and chicken well. The rice itself could have used a bit more seasoning and chicken fat in my opinion. The sauce it came with were great especially the ginger sauce that added the fresh complexity that the dish desperately needed. Adding onto that, I think I could use some vegetables on the side. The tamarind and sweet chili sauce were great. I could also use some chilli. The perfect generous portion of food.

The first taste was good, but the more you have the saltier/sweeter it gets. The lime juice didn't lighten things up either. Don't really recommend it. Crab fried rice: there's a good amount of crab and egg in this dish. The rice is on the softer side, it's not dry and hard like most fried rice. We still enjoy it, the texture of the rice didn't kill the flavor of it. The flavor is very balanced, but quite oily. Tom yum seafood soup: There's a good amount of seafood in this soup. The flavor (sweet and sour) is well balanced. Sweet rice with mango: A great dessert option to finish the meal. It is not overly sweet. I'm not a fan of coconut, but the coconut is not distinctly sweet and overwhelming (so I was able to have some). The sweet rice is chewy and warm when served. I moved to the SGV a little over a year ago and I have been sorely disappointed by offerings this nook of LA county has to offer *ahem banana bay*. I found myself driving to the SFV or Thai Town whenever I was too lazy to cook Thai food on my own. I decided to take a gamble with this restaurant and I am so very glad that I did. It's so good and authentic that I have come out of yelp retirement (Yelp Elite 2016-2020) to leave this review. I ordered four things as take out: Issan Sausage, Pad Kra Pow Minced Chicken, Spicy Fried Crispy Cat Fish, and Drunken Noodles. I was told that they were out of the Kra Pow Century Egg and stewed pork leg over rice. Hopefully, I'll get to try it next time! Issan Sausage: Good portions. Flavor is very good, a little sour, a little salty, and a hint of sweetness. I think the flavors could be a bit more bold with the sour but overall the flavors profile is as it should be. Frying it also added a nice crispiness to it. Spicy Fried crispy Catfish: Flavors were really good. Sweet foods is typically not usually in my flavor profile, but this is one of the few sweet entrees I actually like. Catfish can be a bit more fried but that is moreso a preference on my part. Drunken Noodle Beef: Good char on the noodles. Flavor was really good as well. Not that much beef but the star of the show are the noodles. I was a tad confused on the egg in my drunken noodle but to each their own. I would probably order it without the egg next time because it does change the texture a bit. Pad Kra Pow Minced Chicken: Now here's where it gets interesting! Tantawan actually uses holy basil (Kra Pow). It's harder to find but it has a very distinct flavor that Thai-American cuisine has for the most part substituted due to scarcity with Thai Basil (Horapha). I don't think you can get more authentic than actually using the right herb. Funnily enough, I think it can throw off people that have never had authentic Kra Pow as my partner said it tasted herbally. Thai food can be very hit and miss even among the Thai community as we all have different preferences when it comes to the holy trinity of sweet, salty, and sour. I am personally on the spectrum of sweet should be hinted at and never the forward flavor. Tantawan with the dishes I ordered definitely held to my flavor profile. Very well cooked and good flavor profile. I didn't have to add any seasoning as everything was cooked just right. I called my take out in and they said it would be ready in 20 and it was when I arrived. Even as the food sat in my passenger seat as I drove home I could tell from the smell emanating from the take-out bag that the food was going to be good. Quick and courteous service!

I stopped by here around 7PM on a Sunday and thankfully was able to find street parking quickly (bonus--parking was free on Sundays). The menu is pretty simple but has all of the Thai standards like noodles, curry, and rice dishes. I opted for the Pad Thai, which was delicious. It came with chicken as well as two pieces of shrimp, and the portion was very generous. The food also came out in around 10 minutes, which I was very grateful for as I was pretty hungry when I ordered. The cafe is fairly casual and there were several people picking up takeout orders. Most dishes were under $20 which I think is very fair in this day and age. Definitely looking to return and trying some of their other dishes (fried rice looked good, maybe I'll try that next).

Their daily lunch special (11am -3pm) is one of the best deals around for only $14. It comes with your preferred protein entree, a side salad, white rice and your choice of 2 egg rolls or chicken potstickers. My favorite is their cashew nut chicken, extra spicy. The beef and broccoli is great too. The food is always flavorful, fresh and the portions are generous. They have a great menu with a lot of appetizers, soups, noodles and your favorite Thai dishes. They have a nice list of dessert options including mango sticky rice and homemade coconut Ice cream. Online ordering is available too but service is always fast and friendly. Street parking is no longer free in Pasadena as of 2026. Lots of paid parking in nearby lots. This is a must try spot for authentic and affordable Thai food in Pasadena's playhouse district.
