We went to Manitou Springs just to try this restaurant. The place is clean and the restrooms are clean. The facade is deceptive in the sense that it gives you an impression that the place is really small but when you get inside, it's quite spacious. The decor is nice with framed pictures and multicolored flags. They also have baby high chairs available. Service was excellent. You are greeted right away at the entrance. Our order was prepared in a timely manner. Food came out hot and in pretty receptacles. Food was amazing. We got vegetable samosas which came in crispy and hot. It was one of the best samosas we've had. The lamb biryani, chicken tikka masala and lamb saag were superb. We weren't able to finish everything so they gave us paper boxes and plastic bins for the ones with sauces. I would recommend this restaurant even if you are not in the area. Just call first to make sure they are open for the day. Also if you are a party of 7 or more, you have to call first for a reservation. read more

The food is a 4, the manning/ management is a 3. That's a harsh way to start this review off but it needs to be noted the restaurant could easily be a 5. The flavors are good, the menu is well thought out, but the restaurant needs to hire more people both in the kitchen and out in the dining room. We came in fairly early in the night and were offered a 20 minute wait. We watched as the hostess struggled to manage a continuously growing table list as well as bussing the tables that were occupied. After 20 minutes we were finally seated... in a table that had sat vacant the entire time we waited; however a group of five had finally departed. It became clear at that point, there was also a kitchen flow issue as they could only support turning around far less meals than the restaurant could seat. It's clear this is a popular restaurant and the food clearly supports it; however, it's in desperate need of personnel especially as it moves into busier summer months. read more

Love this place. Glad for the food that was so good. From the outside it doesn't look so spacious but inside it's very cozy, smell of food permeates as soon as you enter. There is another dining area in the back. The server was quick to greet a welcoming ask of how many people The ambiance is so eclectic with touches of things hung from the ceiling like ivy, lights; and on the walls. Place looks clean even on a dark cold Sunday night outside, almost an hour until closing time. Seems to be unkept throughout a busy day. Ordered chicken pakora, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, lamb saag and chicken tandoori. The chicken pakora was fried crispy and served with green chutney and tamarind sauce. Lamb saag was delicious with lamb cooked tender and not gamey. Garlic naan came out hot and super buttery, garlicky pillowy soft. Tikka masala had the right creamy texture and color. Only small nice to have would be a little bit more tomato flavor would make it perfect. The chicken tandoori size was very generous. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the sauce with sauted with green peppers elevated the taste. The chicken tandoori was definitely my favorite!!! I took my Dad two nights ago during a visit to Manitou Springs. The food was incredible - I got chicken tikka masala and Dad got Lamb Tikka Masala. This place truly exceeded my expectations. The chana saag and the chicken tikka masala were fantastic. Hell, they even looked great in contrast to each other on the plate! The samosa was nice and flakey/crispy. Service was prompt and professional if not saccharine sweet. (So, sweet enough to hit the sweet spot, I guess.) Got a place on the balcony to watch people go by, and it was a good spot for a summer lunch. Even on a busy weekend, we were able to be seated without much. Solid Indian style cuisine on Main Street in Manitou Springs. Parking will need to be paid parking pretty much. Their service/table turnaround is pretty bad and it'll take a while to get seated and ready to order. There is inside and outside seating. Their food is solid and priced decently reasonable considering the location. We got the chicken Makani, chicken tikki masala, and butter naan. Everything was well seasoned and we ate everything. Excellent Indian and Tibetan food, especially for a tourist area. Good vegetarian selection. Everything was on point. Nice friendly service.

The food was excellent and just what we needed after a full day of hiking. The veggie samosas were crispy, and the rice was pillowy. The creamy butter chicken is one of the best we've ever had. The aloo gobi hit the spot. The garlic naan was heavenly. The only critique I have is the consistency of the cilantro and tamarind chutney, which were watery, and I'm used to a thicker consistency. But they were still delicious. The service was quick, attentive, and friendly. We were seated right away, and we enjoyed the chill ambiance of the place. From start to finish, we were very happy with the taste and food portions, service, ambiance, and price point ($17 per dish and $8 for the samosas). Street parking is a bit hard to find during prime dinner time, but we eventually found one a block or so from here. Definitely will be coming back here when in the area! read more

Visiting from California and found this place. It's so good we ate here 2 nights in a row. The shahi paneer is amazing, best we've ever had. The butter chicken is great. My only complaint is that the chicken was overcooked. So, I ordered butter shrimp on day 2. I'm still giving it 5 stars, though. The naan is crispy and delicious. We did only have three things on the menu 1) Lamb Saag which we ordered 3/5 for spiciness 2) veggie Samosa (2 per order) and 3) a Mango Lassi. All was top flight. Wow! This place was excellent - so excellent I am writing this still sitting in the restaurant. I had Saag with Lamb and medium spice and my wife had daal and Lamb Saag with no spice. They happily made it with coconut cream and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite of each of our dishes except a tiny bit that my wife is taking home. Medium spice was probably a bit closer to mild, but that was just right. Our server was attentive and friendly and did a good job of answering all of our questions. We happened to stumble into this restaurant and couldn't be happier to add another place to re visit. Not only was the food amazing, it was reasonably priced and we were too stuffed to even finish. With that being said, THE SERVICE WAS AMAZING!! I had never had Himalayan food, and the young lady was soo patient with me while I asked a bunch of questions to make sure it was something my kids would even try. Very nice atmosphere and polite wait staff. Food just average. We had veg pakora to start and those were quite enjoyable, I will say. For main dish I had chicken curry that was supposedly "Nepalese style" but it tasted like every other curry I've had at an Indian restaurant only not as good. I felt like they phoned it in. My husband had Aloo Gobi and he was not terribly impressed. Naan and rice were good. I hate that this sounds negative but it definitely wasn't the best Indian food I've had in my life; neither was it the worst. Also, the chai was the worst chai I've ever had in my entire life - I'm not sure, but maybe it was instant?
