This is a new French Bakery serving light meals and pastries. I had a croissant Nord Lyon which was probably one of the most gorgeous croissants I've seen (proper French baking!) and delicious - still crisp on the outside and flaky, slightly chewy interior. I was told the inside is lemon but to be honest I didn't really taste the lemon, but it was still a damn good croissant. When covid is over they will be transforming into a buffet with swipe card system, looking forward to trying more of their food! read more

This place definitely deserves more than 3 stars. I'm very picky when it comes to sweets. I prefer to get my pastries from proper French pâtisseries in Toronto such as Thobors, Rahier, Pâtisserie la Cigogne, Jules, and others. Nord Lyon has a great selection of croissants, pastries, and other sweet goodies. My favourite is a blueberry éclair with yellow custard cream inside. It is divine. It's too bad they're so far away from my place. Otherwise, I would have claimed asylum at Nord Lyon. read more

Long story short: Lovely and delicious bakery with many selections! A bit on the pricey side, limited indoor seating. Long story long: I was pleasantly surprised to see so many lovely Middle Eastern desserts! Even my beloved su böreği (a Turkish savoury and buttery börek with layers of phyllo and a little bit of feta). It was absolutely delicious and reminded me of home. The raisin pastry was my favourite. It was well made and not too dry. Crunchy outside, with a pull-apart factor inside. The fruit tart's custard was rich and very good. The staff are friendly. 1130am on a nondescript Tuesday popped in for coffee and cake with a little savoury pastry... The lady that serve me Wass, quick and efficient and very friendly. The store had to go and sit in options, both were busy with customers seated at almost every table and a number of to go orders with the usual I want oat milk, crowd, ordering lattes to go. I wish there was a zero rating for this place. I decided to try this bakery but unfortunately you will get better service from the manager/male counter help (?) if you LOOK a certain way. I was next to be serve but the man wanted to serve the lady behind me. He couldn't when I made eye contact indicating I was clearly next in line. He seemed disappointed he couldn't start flirting with the lady behind me who he was so friendly after servicing me, asking if she spoke French and that she looked a certain nationality. I love this place but this time I went to show my family your fresh fruit tarte and maybe it was just an off day but the crust was hard, crumbly and completely different (bad) from the many times I've had it - hopefully this is a fluke time but I don't know if I'll try it again, maybe one day but sad to see my favourite dessert ever be turned into a hard and textural disappointment read more

I ordered from this food app called Too good to go. It is end of day stuff on sale. I paid $8 for 3 pastries and two baguettes cut in half. It is a surprise bag so you don't know what you are going to get. Boy, was I surprised! I don't think it was worth it. Two of the pastries were croissants stuffed with cheese and bacon. Amazing weekend brunch! Very good food and great selection. Their pastries are fantastic. A must try.

Randomly ran into this place - first time got a chocolate chip cookie, next morning got 2 sandwiches, a brioche chocolate bun, and then a loaf of brioche. The food is solid. They have different kinds of sandwiches, and one of the breads is not something I've seen before. It was my favorite. The brioche and baguette were a bit... stale. I could tell when fresh they would have been much better (mind you, I bought these just after noon). I'm giving it a 4 - I'm hoping they are just smoothing out the kinks, and we'll have more fresh bread in the future. I'll revisit soon and re-assess then. read more

I was very excited when this French Bakery opened up. I was a regular visitor since the opening. I had some amazing experiences early on with their croissants that were priced and authentically made well. Shortly after the opening, though, I started experiencing some inconsistencies with the croissants and bread and chalked it up to the growing pains. I am now disappointed because they seemed to have settled and reached a consistency but for the worse. Their croissants, especially, are now mediocre if not below par by being dry and not buttery. The croissant prices also went up by about 33%. The service has also gone downhill since the opening. Far fewer employees, actually only one the last time I came in. They also have a two-tier check-out system that only works if there are at least two employees. One poor employee had to run around the counter several times to cash out people and serve others simultaneously. I don't feel the best that I am so critical here. Still, I don't think it is ever a good thing when a new bakery like this starts taking shortcuts and compromise their product so soon after opening. The Queen West neighbourhood has a few options for good croissants, but none are as genuine as France's croissants. Nord Lyon hit the mark once or twice since they opened, but not even close in the past month. read more

When you walk by this "bakery" everyday, you'd think wow, decent looking croissants and baked goods. It's also oriented pretty well and in a great location. Looks like a good stop for tourists and for one-time visitors. So I decided to go in today to try it out, and it was quite simply the worst croissant I have ever had and had to wait around 10 minutes for an Americano. Pricey and pretty average. It feels they're definitely milking the whole "we're a French bakery" side of things but there are non French bakeries/French inspired bakeries that offer much better products, like Roselle or Le Beau. The macaron cake was good but tiny and pretty expensive. The Paris-Brest was subpar. The lunette was okay. I also bought this crescent shaped pastry that was supposedly filled with Nutella and turned out to be filled with a mix of cocoa (I assume, based on the color), nuts and raisins. LOTS of raisins. And I hate raisins. I confirmed with the person behind the counter that it was filled with Nutella before buying it and I would've never gotten it if I had known it had raisins in it. The baguette and olive roll were the only 2 good things. My first visit was disappointing but I wanted to give them another try. After a second disappointing visit, I most likely won't be back. read more

This bakery is hands down the best bakery downtown, and the best french bakery i've ever been to! Such amazing staff, the food tastes authentic, and the greatest thing is the staff are authentic. Majority from France! If you can't appreciate the good food, then don't come here. People complaining are most likely used to the crappy American style food we have here with everything being overly sweet, gross tasting, Canadian/American food we're used to. This bakery is truly authentic, and I love every aspect of it. Keep doing what you are doing, because Nord Lyon... you are PERFECT :) read more

Croissants are flaky. Strawberry croissant has strawberry jam inside and is extremely sweet. Prices are reasonable. May go back to try some of their other pastries and cakes. read more

As a Montrealer and knowing french pastries. I can say this is just another "french" bakery shop in Toronto. The shop itself is very nice and the pastries look appetizing but I was expecting a little more. I purchased a varieties of goods there and they were all disappointing. The fruit tart ratio with the crust was not equal. There was little filling and way too much crust. The mille feuille did not have that crunch and the croissant was very dry. The meringue was perfect and the raisin danish was dry as well. Overall I wish the pastries were as good as how nice the shop looks read more
