But the scallops itself, super fresh and delicious tasting. The falafel with veggies were extremely delicious. Veggies cooked to perfection. Didn't think I would like eating an entire turnip/onion like I did. And the perfectly baked and tasting potatoes! Oh man! To top it off, hands down THE BEST creme brulee in my life. And I'm not even a fan of the ones back home in the US. But Norwegians with their fresh ingredients and how they do food and dessert, make me appreciate and love other food I typically don't like back home or have a hard time finding decent ones. Usually creme brulee tastes too milky or creamy, or sweet for me. This one--none of that. Just absolute perfect! Paired with the raspberry sorbet and the fresh berries from their garden--woo wee! It was tastefully and appropriately decorated to match the age of the place. I particularly liked the upright wooden bathtub and was pleased that there was enough hot water to fill it up (which took some time). While I thought the restaurant was a little pricey (for my budget) I ended up eating there 2 of the 5 nights I was there. On the other hand I thought the rooms were very reasonably priced and they had 4 different priced rooms to offer. As I mention below, the rooms may have been cheaper since I was there in September. The Restaurant: The food I had at Røsheim was the best I had in Norway on my three week trip! Truly exceptional food with service to match. There is a set menu and you can get all four courses for 600 NOK (around $72) or just 3 courses for 500 NOK (around $60). Keep in mind that this doesn't include any drinks. Add some wine and your dinner bill could easily be more than your room bill. Keep in mind that I was there towards the end of the high season so prices might have been less.

This is one campground near Rondane National Park. It was 460 NOK for the cheapest cabin for four…read morepeople for one night. There were two small rooms with two bunk beds in each room. The couch can also be used as a sleeping space (which I did use; it was super comfy). Check out time is 12 pm. We came in the first week of June which apparently isn't peak season (peak season is July) and there were only a few other people at the campsite. It was perfect. At night or when the breeze blows the wrong way, you may get the smell of manure from the farms nearby. We didn't smell it for long luckily, maybe 15 minutes at most. The campground also has a small gate toward the back that leads to a shallow river. The water is cold even in the summer, but it is very soothing. There is also a large bonfire area and some picnic tables and benches near the back of the camping area. I really liked the swingset and seesaw available here because the swingset seats actually fit me. Of course, the view can't be beat either.
