This store is overwhelming. It is jam packed with sunglasses, clothing, shoes, suitcases, and select home decor. I would only recommend it to someone who has a lot of time on their hands, and preferably shopping alone. I imagine that I would find some great stuff here had that been the case. I did see that they have quite a bit of last season's designer goods and shoes. Prices are 50-75% off their original price. I did find it strange that the checkout lanes are filled with Neutrogena products. I don't believe that they carry this in their regular stores. read more

Nordstrom Rack is the devil. When there are such good deals, how can you help yourself from not spending and spending and spending? Seriously, if someone could assist my shopping habits, I would welcome the advice. This store has great discounts and the staff is pretty friendly. The men's selection is pretty lame (except for shoes!), so I'd probably give it three stars, but I average it out with a five star process for returns to come in at a strong four stars. I've never found anything here that I HAD to have, though they offer a nice selection of Ben Sherman dress shirts. The suit selection is pretty good, but you'll have to take it elsewhere for alterations. I've made three returns here in the past two weeks and all were seamless and quick. This is basically the place I would recommend you go to for a wallets or better quality, yet still designer, purses. In fact I bought my favorite wallet [which I use to this day] - Juicy Couture, leather. Otherwise most of the store is messy so if you feel like looking and digging it's definitely worth it since the prices are ultra low but if you're like me and like to walk into a store and impulse buy then you might have a slight problem, ha ha. The shoe section is a big mess! I've never went into another Nordstrom Rack like that. I found 2 single shoes and went to the 'Shoe pick up' and they couldn't find the match for either. Lost the sale of 2 items. Their organization should not be the reason for lack of sales. Organizing by throwing shoes on shelves for and not in boxes also ruins them quicker, another reason for lost sales. read more

This location is huge and has a ton of good finds, IF you are willing to dig for them. Service is spotty. They say you can check out with anyone with a green shirt, but people kept telling me they didn't have the mobile. Annoying. The rounders at this location are in more disarray compared to other Nordstrom Rack locations, but with the deals I find... I cannot complain! read more

Customer service here is pretty excellent. I was here shopping late one night in December, taking advantage of a Groupon for Christmas shopping. I scored on a sweeeeet cashmere cardigan for my brother. He really really liked it. The store closed but they let me finish up my shopping, even giving me some cordial input in the dressing room. The attentive, unpretentious service won me over and I opened up a credit card account. The store refund policy only allows 30 days for returns, but they let me return a few items that were a few days over this limit. There could be a bit of a crowd at the checkout line during busy hours, but the line moves quickly. They have a nice selection of designer shoes on discount, a solid petite section, and a slew of little black dresses for the right occasion. The clothes are organized by designer, so you can just cut straight to your favorite designers. The expensive handbags are a tad disorganized, but you could easily find a gem with enough patience. read more

I really enjoy this Nordstrom Rack, plus is has some other awesome stores nearby! Great selection on their clearance items...I ALWAYS end up buying something here!!! NR has started a new checkout, where they have employees in lime green shirts and they can check you out right on the spot...semi-awesome. So I waited in line, and because I was using a debit card, I got to one with one of the lime green ladies to check out! Yay...they have these neato Iphones type devices to scan and ring you up...but what annoyed me is after i signed I could either get my receipt emailed, email and print or just print...the lady asked, would you like email and print or just email. I said print only please...she looked at me like I was cray cray and said, "we are trying to go green and would prefer people to get their receipts emailed to them." Awesome...Im all about going green, trust me..but I like my hard copy of my receipt! And don't make me feel like a criminal because I want one! :) Other then that, I love me some Nordstrom Rack...always a hit or miss place, but lately this locay has been a hit! woop woop! read more

Selection is growing and becoming more diverse for a suburb location. The staff has been helpful when requested. Like any other Nordstrom Rack, it can be very "hit or miss" so if you see something you like, I highly recommend grabbing it during your visit read more

An adventure in deal hunting. Nordstrom Rack is hit or miss. What I love about them is that they carry large sizes for shoes. As I am a size 14-15, its really hard to find nice shoes. It pretty messy in the womens shoe section, and there are so many signs that appear to be a good deal, but you have to always step back and make sure it is. (ie check on your phone to do price compares if you can) The staff is just like the deals hit or miss. I have had some really nice people and really rude ones too. All in all, if you like to hunt for deals on some nice brands, I would check them out. I usually find 1 nice thing to buy every 2-3 visits. Also nice that its in walking distance to old navy and marshalls. If you are a late shopper like me sometimes, the Rack closes at 9pm Mon-Sat, and if you still have not had your fill, go to marshalls as they close at 10pm. Food for thought... read more

My female friends have been telling me to go to this place forever to find good deals on nice clothes for guys...and they were right. A lot of the prices here have been slashed considerably from their original tags. I found an awesome hoodie for $50 (orig. $100+) and it fits perfect. I'm not a trendwhore or anything, but it beats going to the mall and paying full price for halfway decent stuff. Nordstrom Rack also has a pretty reasonable denim selection for guys, but I'm still iffy when it comes to dropping ~$100 on jeans. My only complaint about this place is that the guys section is tiny! Ok, I'm hooked on this place. I've been back every weekend for the past 3 weeks and my wallet is feeling the pain! I can't stop! Although this location is extremely out of my way, I love being able to pull up into a parking lot and not circling for an hour trying to find parking - yes, I'm crazy and drive into the Loop. As the "master bargain finder" this is my mecca. While I love a good deal, I love great deals on designer duds even better. I particularly enjoy scavening through their vast shoe department where I swear they have Via Spiga, Monolo Blanik's and the latest trends for dirt cheap! I have to say I dislike like that the shoes are not well-organized. They also only give you one shoe to try on and you have to ask for the other at a counter. Needless to say, they make you work for the savings. It is well-worth it. I can't believe the amount of clothes and accessories too. This is a great location with lots of parking and friendly staff. read more

I've alwyas been curious if I'd find anything here for me, and finally got the chance to find out. Unfortunately for myself, I wasn't extremely successful, but successful nonetheless. The place is huge, and has every aspect of clothing and accessories you could ask for. It is basically an oversized version of regular Nordstrom, but everything is at discounted prices! They have shirts, dress shirts, jackets, jeans, athletic wear, shoes, etc etc. They truly have everything. The two major problems I found with Nordstrom Rack are that they're understaffed, and lack of range in sizes. Given the massive size of the places, and the amount of product they have inside, they need to be able to accommodate the mass of customers they'll have day-in and day-out. I wasn't able to be serviced for a good 20-30 minutes I was looking for someone. I don't want to knock them for not helping me, I understand the difficulty of servicing so many people; but they're aware of their large clientele, and should be able to provide proper and sufficient service. Their sizes seem to be for either the taller, larger male, or the really short, thinner male; they don't seem to carry for anything in-between. I don't know how much more I can elaborate on that, but I'd find something I really liked, but could never find my size. I found easily over $500 in products I was willing to purchase but found less than $100 that were my size. Huge disappointment. Aside from those two negatives, the place is massive, their product is great, and the prices are even better. read more

This store is very inconsistent. For women its very hit or miss, for men its usually good, and for babies its hit or miss. I also hate stores that are a total mess when you walk into them, and if you walk into Nordstrom Rack more than 2 hours after they open that's how its going to be. Will I go back? I'm sucker for high end clothing. I'm NOT a sucker for high prices. In the land of upscale discount stores I pretty much avoid Nordstrom Rack because they usually don't have "good" labels (although once I found a Rodarte dress, OMG!) and their shoes give me a headache. A friend I was shopping with wanted to stop in here and because I'm a good friend I agreed. Ugh. And yes we walked in and it was it's usual racks of madness. Much to my surprise as I reluctantly perused a "designer" rack I found a Helmut Lang white silk jacket...fit me perfect and it was coming home with me because it was marked at an amazing price. While I won't make this a regular stop on my search for the holy grails of rags, I won't shun it like I have previously. read more

I shop the clearance sales... the prices they have at the regular reduced price is still slightly pricey in my opinion but here are some things I've noticed over the last number of times I've shopped there: OVERALL: often a hit or miss for good finds WOMEN'S TOPS: I don't particularly care for the tops that are at this location, I find them rather outdated and almost ratty looking sometimes. Many times the clothing already seems extremely worn for being brand new. Although I can't say this is for all tops, but I find this in majority of the women's clearance tops. I don't particularly care for the ones that are at the regular reduced prices either. Maybe I'm just unlucky in my finds? WOMEN'S PANTS: MY GO TO FOR PANTS! I have gotten a few dress pants for work from here and they fit perfectly and for only about $20! They have a better selection for pants than they do for tops in my opinion. WOMEN'S SHOES: I've been able to find a number of good finds here... especially in the clearance sections! I was able to find some simple, cute, classic shoes (flats, heels, and boots) that don't go out of style in the clearance sections. Definitely worth browsing through whenever you get the chance, you never know what you might find! LINGERIE: I'll be going to Victoria's Secret A LOT less now that I know I can get quality bras (Calvin Klein, Betsy Johnson, and more!) at really great prices ($10-$25)! They don't have styles that convert a million different ways like Victoria's Secret but if you need the basic bras (regular, halter, & strapless), this place has got quality bras at great prices! read more

Awesome place for your favorite attire wide selection of products for your special night out or for the most important meeting.

I love to go to this store for handbags and shoes. You need to go often though, because the shoes can be picked through, but you can find great prices for higher end brands. They also carry smaller sizes and larger sizes in shoes for both men and women. There is a lot of merchandise squeezed into this store so it can be difficult navigating if you have a cart. The staff in the dressing room is very nice and will generally allow you to take in as many items that you have, unlike other stores. They have a nice selection of gift items like makeup bags, toiletries, pajamas, etc. They carry Neutrogena products. For men they carry Lucky, Ben Sherman brands and usually have a good selection of jeans for young men. I also visit the Oakbrook store on 22nd and the Schaumburg store seems more organized and a better selections of items. read more

First off I love Nordstrom Rack for one simple reason, I wear size 13 or 14 shoes. The rack is one of the few places I can go looking for shoes and actually walk out with a new pair. That being said this is not the best rack I've been to. It was very disorganized and hard to navigate through foot traffic in obstructed walkways. Perhaps it was just a really busy day (Saturday) and things got away from them. I will be back because there was nice merchandise but I'll try in the middle of the week. Plus added bonus, the shopping center has saks, marshals, home goods and Bloomingdales. read more

Store is a good size. They need to keep up with the cleanliness as so much stuff ends up on the floor or damaged. They need to figure out a bette system for the shoes as it takes a while to get the other pair. But I do find some good deals at times and leave happy. read more

I went to the store and spent an hour picking out some things. When I got to front after 20 minutes of waiting I finally got to my turn. I then realized my kids had taken our wallet for something. The store was about to close. I asked the cashier who turned out to be the manager if she could put items in back just for the night and I would be in first thing in the morning. She refused. As you know there are many one of a kind items and it is not always easy to re find like in other stores. She was very rude. I don't think anyone would have shown up right as store opened to get those exact things. This was really ridiculous and they lost money bc I won't return. read more

If you really want to reap the benefits of this cacophony of clearance, you need to come prepared. It's going to require time, patience, a friend, (to keep you from overdoing it and for an honest 3rd party opinion) an open mind, and more patience. The rack isn't necessarily packed, but the racks themselves are often overflowing, and incorrectly sized (not only due to the staff, but in large part due to the patrons.) But among those hideous patters, and impossible to actually try on (I'm not sure somethings on the hangers were articles of clothing- some appeared to be strings attached to fabric with not sense of rhyme or reason) there are some gems, and the deals are beyond reasonable. I limited my time here to 30 minutes, which was my first mistake, as I failed to make it out before hitting that cap. I also came solo- which meant my rushed time in the fitting room was also ridiculed with many awkward attempts at self zippering designer dresses....12 of which I tried on, and one of them almost cost me my life... Or at least that's how it felt as I contorted my way mostly in before realizing there may be no way out. These fitting rooms are tiny- and there's a load of them. The staff running this section of the store could be heard sending customers to get their own resizes, claiming to be too busy to help. This isn't Nordstrom's, I get it, but if it's got Nordstrom's name on it, some level of service is expected. The prices are reasonable-but they're not cheep. I made it out if the fitting room alive (miracles do happen) and decided to keep the 6 dresses I managed my way in and out of. These were worth the clearance price tag to me, and that's my definition of a good value. There's no chance in hell you'd find me adorning any of them at their originally marked price. Except one- the blue sparkly lacy short dress. That one was on the clearance rack, but wasn't a clearance item, it was $34.99, which wasn't terrible, except I was actually charged twice for it. So, I'll get to re-visit to have that corrected. So you've made it out of the fitting rooms alive, what next? A line. A long line. While it moves quickly, it's clear that the staff are exhausted by the constant flow of people and the registers are small, there are only a few of them, and they are maxed out. The girl who rang me up was nice- but did accidentally overcharge me. I'm blaming it on the 2ft x 2ft counter she had to call home for the day. Easy enough to re-ring a dress while removing the security tag. I'd give them 4 stars if I hadn't be double charged, but no one likes to have to go back to a store to sort things like that out. Overall, successful trip! According to their receipt- I saved $341.00, and I'll get my extra $34.99 back today. I'll let you all know if that doesn't go smoothly. In short- come with a friend, come without any set idea of what you're looking for, and enough time to explore the many options on the cramped clearance racks. You'll find good deals, and if you're lucky, (like I was) wow your friends in a $24.98 designer dress that you picked up earlier that day. read more

I placed an order for several dresses online. Unfortunately I was only able to keep one this time and I felt terrible walking in to Nordstrom rack to return eight dresses that were ordered online. I was greeted by the district manager, Brian Townsend as soon as I walked in he asked if I needed help juggling the boxes I was carryy. He was super nice about the fact that these were bought online and took me directly to the cashier carrying the boxes for me. I told him I used to work in retail and we always hated when returns were made from another store or an online order because it counted against us as a store and worked against our numbers for the day. He said it doesn't work that way anymore - he was sweet as can be about it and assured me that they want their customers to shop in whatever way makes them most comfortable. It was just so nice an experience to have somebody value your business like that! Also it was such a refreshing change of pace, Having someone in a retail store hold a conversation... A real conversation... about the shopping experience rather than being put off by the fact that you are making a return or the fact that they even just have to be there...working, LOL. In the end Brian gave me his card and said if I needed anything in the future whether it be Nordstrom main store or the rack, to get in touch with him. I am literally writing this review from my car in the parking lot! I can't express enough what a little kindness did to make a great way to start my day. read more

I got a gift from my husband a pair of very cute shoes. When I tried them on, they seemed to be ok, but when the time came to wear them, I found them to be too small, and I decided to return them. I knew I'm late for the return and I didn't even had the receipt for them, but I hoped that Nordstrom Rack (Woodfield) would understand and give me at least a store credit. When I went at the store, at around 7pm, I found out that their policy is that you can't return anything (not even for a store credit) after 45 days, and that's written on the back of the receipt. I explained the lady that I didn't know that, this was a gift from my husband and I never saw the receipt, I didn't know what's written in the back. I told her this wont happen again, and I asked her if she can she make an exception now, because I can't be stuck with a $90 pair of shoes that I'll never wear. I'm not even asking for the money back, just give me a store credit! She kept saying that this it's their policy and she won't accept them. After going back and forth with this I asked to speak with a manager. She said she's the manager and she won't take them back. After another round of 'take them - no I won't' she finally tells me that she will take them, but she will give me the sale price on them which was $30. I said I'm not taking it and I want to speak with somebody else, maybe over the phone, if nobody else is at the store. She refused to give me a phone number where I can call, saying that nobody will answer because it's 7pm. I insisted to talk with somebody, she kept saying no, at one point she said they can't give the number to the customers (what????) until one of the customers passed by and said I can probably call the #800 number. She finally agrees to give me the phone number and I call the Nordstrom Rack online, in front of her. I explained the lady over the phone that I'm late more that 45 days, and I asked if it was possible to return the shoes. She said that she can't help me since this was a in store order, but as a one time favor, it was possible to return the shoes, it only depends on the store manager if she wants to do it. I explained her that the store manager refuses to take the shoes back (here the store manager in front of me tried to back up by saying that she didn't refuse to take the shoes back, she offered to take them back, but for a sale price of $30). After a hung up the phone I asked her one more time to take back the shoes, because like she heard me talking with the person over the phone, it is possible, but it's at the managers discretion if she wants to do it or not. She kept saying no, that's the store policy and she won't do it, unless I'm taking the discount price. I told her if that would have been the case, the person over the phone would have mention this. How come one person is telling me one thing, and another person from the same company is telling me a different thing? Before I left I told her that I'm going to write a very bad review online and she didn't seem to care AT ALL!! Nordstrom Rack, is it worth to lose a customer for $90 store credit that I would've spent at your store anyway?? Don't get me wrong, I know I'm late and I know that that is only my fault, but can't you make a one time exception and make one customer happy? Especially after I insisted so much?? After I called the customer service over the phone and they said I CAN return the shoes?? After all these, she still won't do it? SHAME!! And one more thing, a manager who doesn't care at all when you tell her you will write bad review online, is not a good manager. I worked in the retail too and I know managers can make a customer happy if they want to. I am very disappointed. This has been a terrible experience and will make sure I won't go to this store ever again! Update: my reply for Nordstrom Rack Because I can't reply to your comment, I'll edit my original message. I'm not disappointed because of your policy, I'm disappointed because when I spoke over the phone with one of your employee, she said that I can return the shoes for a full credit. Oh Nordstrom Rack how I love thee. I have found several pairs of beautiful designer shoes here for super cheap. Michael Kors in particular! They also carry a ton of designer jeans and cute tops. The dress selection is lacking and the accessories section could be better too. They carry a lot of outerwear and also have perfume, shampoos, etc. The only downfall is that I have never been lucky enough to visit this store when the line to check out is less than 15 mins long!! This place is the spawn of satan! Make sure to check your bank account before you step inside. It doesn't always have a good selection of Men's clothes, but if you time it right...JACKPOT!!!
