Pricing seems random, they immediately recommend "Dry cleaning" and if the tag says xl+, they say "Big-size" and add $$. The racks used to be full, with customers clothes waiting for pick-up, this maybe due to people WFH like me. But, I think its due to the service. After years of extraordinary personal service and quality attention to detail, this exceptional business is in new hands and has lost many of the traits that made it great - and it has lost this customer. Longtime customers will agree that Sue was rare and wonderful - and she earned her well-deserved retirement. Over the past few months, I've tried to overlook how my years of loyalty were suddenly unfamiliar, that I had to provide my name/number, that my preferences needed to be restated, that longstanding operating methods had changed. I overlooked the change in service - but appreciated that I could now use a credit card. But then the cleaning chemicals changed; my clothes suddenly had a foul odor. The care in handling of my garments declined, and it was clear that steps were removed from the former Norgetown way. I wasn't ready to let them tailor my clothes as Sue had until they earned my trust again, alas they won't get that chance. Today, after unpacking my recent cleaning, I discovered that my favorite pair of pants that Sue had cleaned for quite some time had suddenly shrunk in length (and nope, I'm not taller or heavier!); they look absurd now - and they simply can't be replaced. Clearly Sue had used a different method, and now my signature pants are no more. They were expensive, but now I know they were priceless. I'm heartbroken and angry. I had also recently requested an attempt be made to remove a spot on my blazer - they marked it, but missed it; I was ultimately able to remove it myself, so that left me disappointed in their service and attention to detail. Other pants were suddenly filled with static in a way that they never were after cleaning previously, and now they all cling to my leg in an unsightly way. Ugh! And my clothes still reek of this new chemical. Disgusting. With kindness I wish this new staff the best of luck as they find their way and build trust with new customers, but I'm never going back. This place is a small family-owned business and I have been very satisfied with their services. I've dropped off dresses, suits, and other business attire that requires dry cleaning. The prices are fair and the service is great. When I asked for a dress hem quote for a friend, I thought their price was very very competitive. Compared to another cleaners I have been to in the area, they do take a bit longer, but I never needed to rush to get cleaning done. Bonus: they also take dry cleaning hangers for recycling! A plain business dress in this cleaner is now considered "fancy" and the dry cleaning cost has skyrocketed and is no longer competitive. This business has lost a customer. read more

If you haven't been bringing your clothes to Norgetown Cleaners, then you've been going to the wrong cleaners. They are located in a strip mall right off of Arlington Heights Road. I admit, they are not dirt cheap prices, but I think the prices are fair for your clothes to be taken care of. My family and I have been bringing our clothing here for years. They are professional, and pay close attention to detail. A little snag or a missing button? They'll take care of it for you. I'm a shorty, therefore my choices are to let the bottoms of my pants drag along the ground and shred up, fold the bottoms up, or get them hemmed. I'd say the last option is probably the best one. Now a lot of my clothes come from Nordstrom, or Nordstrom Rack, where alterations are free! Shaaawing!! But any other purchases, where my pant leg length surpass my short legs, I only trust Sue. Your pants being hemmed will run you about $10. If you care about your clothes at all, bring them to Sue at Norgetown Cleaners. If you don't care, go ahead and bring them to one of those one price cleaners that pay no attention to your clothes, but then I don't wanna hear you complain on here later about it! read more

Sue and the staff at Norgetown are very friendly and professional. In a very short time, she remembered my name and even had my phone number memorized so the service was quick and personalized. They do great work. Only complaint is they are cash only but if you're prepared, it's not really an issue. Would recommend. read more

This reviewer could go either way with Norgetown cleaners. I had a moth problem at home which ate 2 places on a sweater that was kept immaculate after dry cleaning. I found out that moth love expensive cashmere more than average fabrics so I took it to Sue to have the holes patched. She told me "this happens to cheap clothes alot" -_- ummmmmm since when is $900 Burberry cashmere cardigan that is 4 months old "cheap"??? She then saw the label and said "this couldn't be. Huh. This is Burberry??" ......shows you how knowledgeable you are of fabric. Btw, it was worn for a month, dry-cleaned at YOUR establishment, and was kept in a cool, huge walk-in closet. I do not blame her for the problem, but was very disappointed at her remarks. By the way, do you all pay cash??? She told me the first day I went, asked me if I was Korean (bc she is), then told me they dont take credit cards. I had some curtains hemmed and they turned out wonderful. The job was done quickly and well.

After reading the glowing reviews, we took several work shirts to be cleaned here. Like the reviews claimed, they did a fine job cleaning the shirts. However, the wrote my name onto the shirts with a sharpie. This is unacceptable for me. These are expensive shirts and I do NOT appreciate them writing on my shirts regardless if it is in a discrete place or not. If they were going to do this, then they should have told me this upfront. I have been to other dry cleaners and they never did this to my clothes so I know this is not common practice. This is just down right ridiculous. I would have given them a four star for the cleaning, but after defacing my clothes, I cannot give them more than one star. One star is being generous considering I paid them to ruin my shirts. read more

The Korean lady who runs this place is fantastic. The prices are low and they can have your clothes ready for the next evening if you ask nicely. I have brought in shirts and pants that needed stitching (my grandmother lives too far away), and the work is always great. read more

The Seamstress there destroyed my daughters homecoming dress. I would never recommend her ever for anyone to get anything done there. The seamstress there is also extremely rude to her customers. If she couldn't do this type of job then she should've said it and I would've taken it somewhere else instead she ruined a very expensive homecoming dress. read more

I love this little gem of a cleaners! The owners are very sweet and nice and try to accommodate all our needs. The best reason to come though is their service, wow can they work some magic on our stuff. Great example: My sister brought her wedding dress here for two reasons: 1. To get it altered and to get some embellishments added, they did a fantastic job, you couldn't even tell they were add ons! 2. After a night of partying away, her poor dress was brought back to life. You ladies know what I'm talking about, it was marked with dirt, wine, and who knows what else and when she got it back, it looked brand new! And when it comes to you, they wrap it up in this pretty wedding box! They are under new management now and have drastically "modernized". They now use a computerized system to track your orders as opposed to pen and paper tickets from the dark ages. They also accept credit cards now for orders over $10. They are pretty much the only dry cleaner in the area located in an empty strip mall so you don't have to deal with parking or traffic. read more

As a loyal customer now for at least two years, the service and know-how here in unmatched. She's done my wedding dress, silk drapes that the dog peed on, my suits and just about anything else we need. My wife has alterations done here as well. Norgetown Cleaners is the best. Do not take your dry cleaning here! I took my $150 ski jacket to be dry cleaned the week of my ski trip to Galena. Went to pick up that morning of the trip and it was ruined. She shrunk the sleeves and it did not fit at all. She did not own up to this mistake and only offered $20 credit on future dry cleaning. Do you really think I will go there again? Give me a break. After speaking with someone else who took their favorite sweater to be dry cleaned; the same thing happened to her. read more

Good dry cleaners not a great seamstress. I've had suits cleaned and pressed well but just recently had pants hemmed and they are still too long. I tried to call to ask for them to be repaired but the phone was off the hook each of the three times I called. I'll be getting my pants hemmed elsewhere from now on. Norgetown Cleaners has been my go to cleaners for years now. In this past year, they did an unbelievable job with cleaning and repairing tears in the lace of my wedding dress (a few people stepped on it on the dance floor), and one month ago, they tailored a bridesmaid dress with an unbelievable turnaround time. The dress had fit me when I tried it on months in advance, but with a little weight loss over the summer, it was baggy in the chest & back area. I noticed this 3 days before the actual wedding. Sue (the main cashier) kind of scolded me for waiting until the last minute (which I deserved), but she said she would have it ready in 2 days. 2 days later, there it was and it fit perfectly. Thank you soooooo much! The ONLY reason I did not give 5 stars is because they only accept cash or checks. In this day and age, most businesses accept credit cards because of the convenience of them for customers. A few times now I have stopped by to pick up clothes and had to run to the bank because I didn't have enough cash on me. read more
