I live very very close to this place and always said that I'd stop by someday and just never did. Today I finally gave it a visit. The store is tucked away and ver unassuming from the outside. I walked in to a very small store with minimal decorations but was immediately greeted by the person at the counter. The menu is wide and various just like I was hoping for from a teriyaki place. My favorite thing other than order from teriyaki places are their bento boxes. I went with the larger one which comes with teriyaki chicken, rice, sushi, tempura shrimp, gyoza and salad (I was very hungry lol). Everything was done so fast. The ordering was done quickly, the food came quickly. Everything tasted the way I wanted it to. Very savory flavors all the way around and great portions! I'm happy I have a decent teriyaki place so close to me and will definitely be coming back!

Overall, a solid option for teriyaki. They have tofu for vegetarians and lots of meat to choose from. My partner got the spicy chicken (extra spicy) and it lived up to the heat! My tofu stir fry was good, but not a ton of veggies other than lettuce. Service was friendly and prompt.

Always fresh, hot, and consistently delicious! This is our go to for bento boxes, teriyaki, shrimp tempura (number one request from our daughter), and my favorite, beef yakisoba which includes fresh and perfectly crisp veggies and oh so tender beef. I'd be remiss to not mention the excellent customer service and super friendly staff. Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful!

    8. Tempura Udon

This place has great food and bento boxes! The price seems just right. I had the udon tempura and it came with three pieces of shrimp tempura! That's is a good amount. The udon has veggies and it made it so delicious-if you are into that. I also had the spicy tuna roll and it was seriously so flavorful and delicious. My friends and husband agreed with it be very tasty! I would definitely order the spicy tuna roll again. The food was made fairly fast for the amount that we ordered.

    Regular size chicken teriyaki

I've had Nori Presto a couple times in the past 2 months, and I love how I can come in, order a $10 regular sized chicken teriyaki which I can barely finish AND get it in 3 minutes during busy hours. But for everything else yeah I agree its pricy for what you get. I'll Come for those when I feel like splurging or treating myself but not able to go to nicer places further away. For that I'll happily give it 4/5.

The way they worded this really rubbed me the wrong way. First, I've never been give a time limit at a restaurant that was not all-you-can-eat. Second, the amount of time I spend in your restaurant heavily depends on the speed of your service (spoiler alert: it was not fast). They then sat us at the most uncomfortable table I have ever had the displeasure of dining at. The table was low and the seats were so deep that I could not rest my back on them while eating. Definitely brought the mood down further. Food was a hit or a miss, no in between. Hit: Garlic short ribs (my partner said these were tender and a good portion for happy hour), Poke sushi roll (good fish quality and taste) Misses: First Ave Roll (sauce was just walloped on top, weak flavors), veggie and shrimp tempura (heavy and soggy batter), pink lychee cooler (artificially sweet with no strong lychee flavor), green tea tiramisu (photo speaks for itself). For all the rave reviews, I was pretty let down. Thankfully, we went during happy hour so we didn't pay full price. I would not visit here again.

Moonraker was one of the rolls we got. I highly recommend it! In addition to that we got an order of the Spicy Tofu... again delicious and made an excellent side with our sushi! I got a hard alcohol I wasn't used to getting. It was fun and it was quite good! It was Shochu which is a distilled beverage and involves sweet potato. If memory serves I got the one with sweet potato and pear. Very different but very good. It had a nice dryness to it. To wrap it all up we got some deep fried mochi ice cream. It held up nicely to being a great finish to a very high quality meal. We are definitely coming back!

With every course, from salmon and tuna to white fish, mackerel, shellfish, and eel, he explained how each piece should be eaten, where the fish was sourced, and even shared personal stories from his career. It felt like he was telling a story through every piece of sushi he prepared, making the experience both captivating and unforgettable. Chef Shiro Kashiba is truly inspiring. It was also wonderful to see that everyone seated at our counter had traveled from out of state just to experience his omakase, which speaks volumes about his reputation. This was, without a doubt, the best sushi omakase experience I've ever had. The fish was exceptionally fresh, and every bite was thoughtfully prepared. The flavors were unlike any sushi I've had before and gave me a whole new appreciation for how extraordinary sushi can be when it's crafted by a chef with such deep knowledge and experience. I would absolutely love to come back again. I left feeling completely satisfied and fulfilled, yet hungry for more of this amazing sushi experience. Our food tour was very intimate, just the two of us plus the guide. One of the restaurants we visited was called Shiro. We arrived mid-afternoon, while the restaurant was closed to the public. We were each served two pieces of Nigiri and told the story about Shiro. The two pieces that we were served were phenomenal and the story fascinating. We found out when Chef Shiro would be working next and cancelled another dinner reservation so we could try more of his food. When we arrived before opening time, there was already a woman waiting at the door. After us, a Seattle software engineer and three of his Canadian co-workers arrived. We had all arrived early because sitting at the bar in front of Shiro was on a first come, first served basis, reservations were not taken for that privilege. The year after we dined, we read that Shiro had retired. We were so disappointed that we would not get to eat his food again. Then we learned that Shiro opened a new restaurant and we planned on making a trip up to Seattle. Twelve years later, we finally made it. Reservations were made through opentable.com two months in advance. We wanted the Omakase, sitting at the bar, in front of the Master. Well, when we arrived, we found that Shiro only works on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. (sigh) Still, we had a great meal prepared by an amazing chef who hailed from Laos, whose name escapes me now. We had a pretty good conversation despite the background noise from the rest of the restaurant. The presentation was beautiful as you can see from my pictures. We asked for and received a menu list that detailed what we were being served. If you take the time to look at the photo captions, you can follow along with the menu list to see what each fish looked like. And then, on our way out, there was Shiro! We greeted him, thanked him and his Sushi Chef for a great meal. We asked for a photo and he had a staff member take the picture for us. Yes, Shiro is a slight man but not quite as small as the picture makes him look. The staffer changed my camera setting from 1x to .5x and because he was standing one step behind us, we look huge! At any rate, it was a meal that will remain with us to the end of our days. Domo Arigato Gozaimasu Shiro Kashiba & Staff!

From the moment we arrived, everyone was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and eager to make sure we had a great experience. I've been fortunate to enjoy several omakase meals over the years, and while many simply let the chef choose your sushi, Sugo takes the concept to another level. Every course is thoughtfully orchestrated, with each piece expertly prepared and presented right in front of you. Watching the chefs work is part of what makes the evening so memorable. The seafood was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and every course reflected genuine craftsmanship and attention to detail. It was clear that the chefs take great pride in what they create.
