Ahhh Normo. She's that special little station. Is she pretty? Sure. In that wouldn't kiss her, wouldn't touch her, wouldn't marry her kinda way. Normo station doesn't take herself too seriously, and neither do Sydney train drivers apparently, given the number of times they whizz by her never caring to stop in and say hello. Normo station's culture isn't the hip kind you'd find at Edgy or Bonders or Paddo. She doesn't roll like that. She's straight up and down. Business peeps in the morn, and the Uni kids a bit later. All-in-all she's a heck of a girl. If you don't mind your girl being a tad lazy and forgetful. Sometimes there's nothing wrong with that, especially if you happen to lose your ticket (or totally forget to buy one). Normo... ahhhh she'll let you get away with that. No barriers. No staff. No worries! Even if there was an influx of rail officers, a quick fence hop will see you bush bashing your way to fare evasion freedom! Just make sure to go, before you go, to Normo. If you need a pitstop to conduct your bizzo you could be disappointed cos I'm pretty sure "those" kinds of meeting rooms are never open on Normo staysh! read more

The outer suburb of Normanhurst is located about 20 km north-west of the Sydney central business district. Normanhurst station opened as Hornsby in 1895. The station and surrounding suburb was renamed Normanhurst in 1898 to avoid confusion with the adjacent Hornsby station, then known as Hornsby Junction, and previously known as Hornsby. A little confusing, yes. My Homebush Boys High School rugby team would come up here to demolish Normanhurst Boys High School. It was nice that their school was close to the station. To tell you the truth, the train ride up here on school time on Wednesdays was just as much fun as playing rugby, with less chance of injury. We got to cut short language class, which may explain why I suck at languages besides of English. read more
