I tried in 8th grade to get her tested for dyslexia but was pushed off until school ended. Then tried at Liberty high to get her tested where again was pushed off until school ended. Now at only 2 weeks of the start of school year, Frontier high school has already been working on getting her tested. They have welcomed my child with opened arms & truly made us feel at ease. They made us feel heard & are moving quickly to get her the tools she needs to succeed. Everyone gave us a warm welcome. They are not mask Nazi's either for those who cant wear a mask. They dont hound you about, make you feel bad or treat you like a 2nd class citizen.

I feel like they take a genuine interest in each child. My daughter always felt safe and loved here and that's what is most important to me. I like that she also gets reinforced Christian values and at the same time this school is very accepting without judgment. It's so hard to entrust people with your children in today's world. Not just to teach them but to protect them. I definitely feel confident in recommending Olive Knolls as a place you can trust to send your child.

When she moved to middle…read moreschool, we would either need to a) have to move to a different area so she could walk or even take a bus to school since our location is not a bus route or b) me quitting work so I can take her to school 5 days a week which is not an option for a solo parent. Anyway, through research from a Facebook group for Bakersfield moms, I found out about Project:Learn (PL) which has a twice a week face-to-face option for students to meet up in a campus and together, do activities for Math, Science, History, and my favorite, PBL which is short for Project Based Learning. In PBL, they had a Kindness Project last year and also basic accounting and budget-planning. On days that they are not in school, they have school work that they do at home, all linked to an online guide (and answer keys!), which us parents get to check and grade. I thought it was going to be a difficult transition for us but Kate, the founder of PL, answered all my questions and has been a very good resource especially when I was still deciding on a program. Class size is small, which I personally liked, and my daughter has established genuine friendships in her class and looks forward seeing her classmates/friends every week!

My God daughter's participation in the choir has allowed me to see the school from a unique perspective, and I am excited to share my thoughts. Every year I'm excited to see what themed productions they will do because they never let me down. The productions are always so well done, with great attention to detail and a clear passion for the arts. You can definitely see all the hard work that is being put into it, and it's wonderful to see the students' talents being showcased. Kudos to the choir teacher for keeping the arts alive and for providing students with opportunities to develop their skills and build their confidence.

Not enough!…read moreWendy besides helping our daughter learn,she also supported us with her potty training and was always helpful with giving us advice on child behavior and how to not fall for their tricks! Lol My daughter was part of Wendys program for over two years and we never once had a complain. What Makes Wendys program different is that its very small. Usually just 10-12 kids max. I loved that she plans trips for the kids (with parents help of-course), the kids have outside play on nice days and they are always learning with filled day activities. She has a weekly program that changes from week to week explaining what your child will be learning and doing each day. My favorite was seeing the photos she posts on the schools social page because I would get to see what my daughter was doing while I was at work. Even after I stopped working in Albany I would still make the drive to keep taking my daughter to Wendy,but eventually with another little one it just became hard so we had to switch to something closer to home. I wish Wendy nothing but the best in both business and personal life. She took great care and loved our daughter and that means everything as a parent. Thank you Wendy!

Jen's Family Daycare  really feels like family (as the name implies).  We had a terrible experience…read moreat a previous facility, where my son really struggled (he was a late bloomer with his speech), he cried everyday, and I just felt like he wasn't getting the attention he needed and there was not great visibility to ease me.  We were lucky enough to get into Jen's shortly after, and have never looked back--the difference is night and day!  Separation is hard, but somehow, Jen was able to make him comfortable. Furthermore, his speech has flourished and he has since moved into the public school system, completely over prepared thanks to his 2 years with Jen! To this day, he loves to go with me to drop off/pick up my other two kids so he can say hi to Mrs. Jenny.  Some of the things I love about Mrs. Jen's: 1. The pictures. Mrs. Jenny posts pictures of the kids throughout the day so we can see all of the fun things they are doing. 2. Mrs. Jenny keeps things fresh! I've seen the kids harvesting grapes, collecting eggs, bouncing in a bounce house, swimming in the pool, playing on the play structure, having special water play with water toys, reading books, practicing writing, playing games on the smart board, arts and crafts activities, yoga, AND SO MUCH MORE.  It seems like every time I talk to her she has something new in the works for the kids! 3. The food!  Every so often, Mrs. Jenny will post a picture of food she made for lunch or breakfast and a comment about how well the kids ate.  And since my kids are picky eaters, I find myself asking for those recipes! "Mrs. Jenny's pasta" is on our regular rotation at home.  4. Mrs. Jenny goes above and beyond! For example--this last year she hosted a Halloween movie night on a giant inflatable screen in her backyard to celebrate the holiday with the daycare family! We all brought food and lawn chairs and it was a great time!  5. Mrs. Jenny cares about us all outside of daycare! I constantly find myself chit chatting with Mrs. Jenny at pickup and drop off about everything we're doing! 6. My kids love going to daycare! It's never a battle! And sometimes, they don't want to come home! Lol! I could go on and on! We love Mrs. Jenny's and highly recommend to anyone looking for childcare.

My first daughter did go to a preschool facility for a short amount of time; it was a good place, but it lacked comfort and felt like a place to just drop off the kids and pass time. We found JFDC and it was everything we were praying for and MORE. We can confidently say JFDC is a 2nd home to our kids; they love it there, they are loved there, and they love Mrs. Jenny and her assistant Mrs. Ana. Mrs. Jenny has an amazing semi structed preschool that provides the perfect balance for the kids to learn & play. She works with each kid on their personal development and growth, and provides such a wonderful and nurturing environment through interactive learning technologies, play activities, and outdoor play.
