Had a tattoo done on or about July 12 on my forearm, next day infection had set in, needles were new, gloves new in package so was not an "unclean" situation. The artist spoke of nothing but sex, I laughed cuz what else are you supposed to do when someone has a needle in your arm, didn't know what else TO DO. Four to five extra people in the room visiting with the artist for part of the appointment, so his focus was on them. I told him I was happy with it because I just wanted out of there. No instruction for after care was given, I waited in chair for about 5 min for him to instruct but he was too busy with his "friends" that had stopped in to visit. Tat was cleaned but not wrapped. Friday night I attended another shop as I would have rather paid someone else to complete and fix it than go back to that shop. When the "new" artist looked at it, they said, man he went in "hard" there that's why the infection and I can't do anything with it because of the infection or it will just blow the entire thing out. So I paid 250.00 for a half finished mess. I contacted the shop's owner and he told me it would be looked after. The artist then called me and told me he was fired but after asking around, that was not the case, he is still employed at this shop. If you would like pics shoot me an email. That being said I did have a tattoo done last year at North Alabama Ink but a young guy named Russ, who was awesome, did such a good job and that is why I returned to this shop. Went in October for a nose piercing and tattoo and let me say Izzy done a great job on my tattoo and Matt done a great job on my nose piercing , then took my niece last Saturday to get her septum done and had hers and mine done by Skylar and Izzy and they done such a wonderful job on both of ours, and Skylar and Chelsea who is a very nice person also , helped me pick out a new nose ring since I was getting it changed ! Have to say I definitely recommend North Alabama Ink for all your tattoo and piercings, because they have a fun , friendly , comfortable and very professional atmosphere , and have become my favorite shop and every one of their artists and piercers are very nice and makes you feel completely welcomed! read more

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews for North Alabama Ink but my experience was perfect. Everyone is very nice. I went to Shawn for my first tattoo that he completely customized. He did an amazing job with his work and I couldn't be happier with it. He talks you through the entire process and he asks for your opinion throughout getting tattooed. He takes a lot of pride in his artwork and he does everything in his power to make sure you walk away happy. I highly recommend Shawn! read more

My little girl had been wanting her ears pierced for awhile now. I wanted to take her to a professional shop to get them done. I called North Alabama ink and Malachi was so helpful answering all the questions I had about bringing my daughter in. We set up an appointment with Kandice. She was so wonderful and gentle when piercing my little girl's ears. She set her completely at ease, which set me at ease, as well. 15/10 would recommend North Alabama Ink! read more

Best experience ever getting a tattoo. Dan-o and his wife were so friendly and awesome. The most detailed and gorgeous tattoo I have! He donated a gift certificate to the rally at the river to help the kids at st jude I won it in the auction. How awesome is that for a tattoo artist to donate his time to help those Kids. I would recommend going to Chelsea, she has done all of my work on my leg and arms. She is so nice to talk to during the session, asks if you need a break in between times. The atmosphere there is welcoming, the whole crew is awesome. They make you feel like family when you're there. read more
