Broad St in Mooresville,…read more I arrived at the NC vehicle registration office in Mooresville about 10 am on 12/04/2025 and expected to be there for a while. I was immediately greeted by a nice lady behind the counter and called to the counter. She processed my paperwork for the title and registration quickly and efficiently and in a friendly manner. I hope everyone that goes here can find the same pleasant serice as I did.

This location is extremely small but it's ran like a well oiled machine. The lady at the check in desk had the right amount of professionalism mixed with a little "I don't take no, mess so don't try me," and I can respect that! On the outside, this location has the appearance of a small dress shop but once you get inside there's a small seating area to the right and a checkin station straight ahead. Things seem to move quickly, we waited about 20 minutes before they called my son to the back to take his test. I would definitely return to this location in the future.

Together, this makes for a great experience for the animals and the people who work and volunteer there...and of course, the ICAS guests! Please consider visiting to adopt rather than going to a breeder. These babies are awesome. And that's because of the care and attention they get. You can walk by someone's office on staff and you will see a dog getting some enrichment time. You can stop by the grounds and see volunteers and staff walking the dogs. This is a great place!

Children learn quickly how not to behave in this library, just like the ee's. Like others, I found it difficult to find a place to read or study, which is a big part of what a library is for--or used to be. Also, whoever keeps up the 'historian's' office, needs some organization skills. What a plush, seemingly do-nothing job. The next time you are there take a peek....

With the advances in technology speaking with a human being is an option. If I understand correctly the actual office has recently become a resource primarily for veterans but some assistance is available for the general public. Though there are several work stations in the office I am not sure exactly for whom or what they are intended. I had the opportunity to speak with one staff member who provided an information packet and a brief overview of how to access the system for filing an initial claim, how to file weekly reports, and so on... included in there is a number to call if you really need human intervention but it kinda mostly makes sense after a bit.

Fort Dobbs Historic site is undoubtedly one of the best sites in the NC historic site system! Fort Dobbs provides tons of history concerning the French and Indian War, as it is the only NC historic site concerning that period. There are several points of interest for you to explore, a .5 mile nature trail, a new visitor center with an exhibit opening soon, and a fort for you to explore! If you want to see the inside of the fort, you HAVE to take the guided tour. There are 4 tour times, with cheap prices! Our tour lasted about an hour and 45 minutes, and was extremely detailed! Our tour guide (the site manager) has studied history in college for nearly 12 years!! He constantly had more information and detailed history to tell us about, never ending for 105 minutes! Everyone in our group was impressed, and were thankful to have such a great tour guide. The guided tour is worth it! If you're in the area, you should stop by! It's a great way to get some fresh air and expand your knowledge concerning the 7 Years War (French and Indian War).

Fort Dobbs is such a cool, low-key stop if you're into history. It's a reconstruction of the…read moreoriginal 1756 fort (finished in 2019), and you can only go inside with a guided tour every 45 minutes--totally worth it. Our tour was about 45 minutes, super educational, and took us through different rooms while explaining what happened here. It's also really affordable ($5 adults, $1 kids). There's an older visitor center with a small gift shop (new one coming soon), plus a picnic shelter, restrooms, and a short walking trail. Great quick visit for families.
