I just visited and am a homeless veteran, I received a beautiful prayer by a volunteer Renee about my current situation and felt heard and seen by God, she then did probably what I'd also do and tried to put me in contact with someone of more influence in the church. She took me to a staff member Margot, Margot told me who the church partners (I don't remember the name) with and told me to contact them, She didn't give me any contact information and then she gave me a lot of her thoughts about my situation and suggestions of what I could do. Most of which I've already heard and have exhausted all the suggestions she had outside of the churches partnered group. I was told I could call her if I had any questions and she's up there every day.
Overall, it was a good service and up to what felt like a shaming session with Margot, it was encouraging. What I got from the message was the way of Jesus is service, humility, and sacrifice. All of which I agree with, I also experienced God's spirit in a personal way where he convicted me while there of some anger I still held in my heart that he pointed out sometimes I'm reluctant in my service to him. I repented and asked him to make me a more joyful follower.
I believe God is here, and I'm trying to understand what God was showing me here, I think it may mean I'm not home here or important enough to the staff. I don't know if I'll go back it's going to take prayer for me to really understand but I wanted to give my review for other people to hear my about my experience and maybe try it out as long as you're in a good position in life and maybe don't tell anyone your situation. I know it's hard but up until I did, I would have definitely gone back. read more
