We received a couple quotes around north county, all comparable but we felt the most comfortable with Ronnie! He was thorough in the original visit, gave a clear plan of action and was up-front about time estimates for both when the project could get started and how soon it would be complete. Within one week the team arrived on time and worked fast but done with quality. Our project was small, about 500 sq feet, and they completed it in 5 business days. It would have been 5.5 but they stayed until it was done on the last day - Love the dedication from the team! The end result is amazing - they paid close attention to detail, gave us plenty of options when the plan was slightly interrupted (by no fault of their own - there was allegedly gas lining and turns out here wasn't!). Recent paver review for North County Pavers. As I always do, I started this paver job by talking to other people that have completed similar paver jobs. As you can imagine, I had feedback from several people that used three different companies in San Diego County. Some of the customers were not pleased with the job, and most were not happy with how long it took to complete. As I continued to talk to more people (knocking on front doors), one pattern emerged, "North County Pavers (Ronnie) is the best." Well, that started the estimate process with three companies, two that had Okay reviews and North County Pavers (with great reviews). Well, all three estimates ranged from high, medium, and low in the price category. North County Pavers was right in the middle. Needless to say, I chose North County Pavers, and not once did I regret my decision. North County Pavers took out all of the backyard concrete and driveway and replaced it with pavers. Ronnie met my wife and me at two different paver companies so that we could see all our options. After we chose our pavers, they started and finished quickly. Ronnie and his team of 6-8 employees began the job and never stopped (except for several rain delays). From day one, the team worked very hard and cleaned up after themselves, covered any exposed areas every night (rain or shine). The foreman, Pompeyo, was on the job every day all day. Not one of the employees was standing around; they all worked so well together. Pompeyo would touch base with me at least two to three times each day to see if I had any questions or concerns and would tell me when they were going to leave (no earlier than five every day) and when they were going to start the next day (usually at 0730). Pompeyo would make recommendations when he thought something would look better than what we initially discussed (he was right every time). It was refreshing to have a contractor that was proactively interested in having the job be PERFECT. During the entire job, I would see something that looked odd and would wait to tell Pompeyo only to find it was already addressed (I have never had a contractor that attentive). During the final walkthrough with Pompeyo, then Ronnie, several days later, I only had three items, and each one was taken care of correctly. My neighbors are very impressed with the final outcome and how hard and quick the team worked every day. I wanted to do some landscape changes on a house I have owned for over forty years. My first project was to replace old cement walkways and expand the hardscape area. I contacted several contractors, and got bids from three. Of the three I was most impressed with Ronnie's (North County Pavers): it was detailed; specific; and, easy to understand. When Ronnie reviewed the project with me, he pointed out details for me to considered which I had not thought about, and which the other contractors had not mentioned. Ronnie said he could get the job done in two days where the others said about a week or so. It was clear to me that Ronnie had a wealth of experience in this type of work. I did the contractor's license check with the Contractors' State License Board, and a review of his yelp ratings. Everything was positive so I went with Ronnie. Most important: after meeting him and talking with him I trusted him. On the day the work began Ronnie and his crew arrived at the designated time and immediately began work. They worked hard and had everything, except the sealing, done in one day. The next day one man came back and finished the sealing work in less than two hours. Ronnie and his crew were excellent. Completely professional. I interviewed 8 different paver companies and Ronnie's design was by far the most beautiful. Pricing was fair and he met the other bids price during negotiation. They demo'd 2500+ sq ft old asphalt driveway and front lawn andi ialled beautiful interlocking paver driveway and Synturf as well as Synturf putting green in our backyard and paver mow strips. The installation had a minor hiccup with some irrigation issues due to shallow irrigation lines that were in our property but these were remedied well, and the installation was otherwise fast, clean (as can be with paver dust), and done with excellent attention to detail. We can not say enough about what a GREAT !! job that NCP did on our renovation on our front and back yard. They re-did all of our drains so that all of the water would go to the street and not puddle by the house. Ronnie has a wonderful sense for color and patterns of pavers that matched our home. The planter walls and steps that they installed are exactly what we wanted for our home. Not to mention that Ronnie also suggested a 12 inch custom designer stone cut into the planter wall, that turned out awsomely. Our back yard hardscape was aging and in disrepair. We needed additional hard surface area for patio furniture and ornamental applications. Ronnie Hemphill designed a beautiful and functional extension of our existing patio surface, and cleaned up our old hardscape so it looks new. I recently trusted North County Pavers to do a patio and drive way extension for me. Ronnie came out and explained my options and gave me a pretty decent deal. He showed me some local examples in my neighborhood of work he's done so I checked it out, and the next week NCP got to work at my house. It was a very quick turn around. One cool thing they did for me, is while my project was initially on budget, the workers decided the slope on my patio was not great and that I should install drains. Ronnie did warn me that was a possibility on the initial meeting, but it was still a pretty good hit to the budget. I got a call a few hours after the drains were put in saying that the team had re-analyzed my slope and that the drains weren't actually completely necessary, so they included that for free. And I'll say I'm actually really glad they're installed because they came in handy with all the recent rain. My biggest regrets are that I didn't do some of the other projects I wanted them to do. I've hired Ronnie twice. The first project was in 2015 to instal a 3 foot retaining wall, remove rock and add turf with a paver boarder. The end result was exactly what we expected. This was the first extensive renovation that took longer than a week to complete at our house and I didn't quite know what to expect. We were not told there would be a porta potty placed out front. We didn't know the dirt would be delivered when it was (blocking our car in the garage). But other than a few small issues, the project was well managed. A year later (3/16), we needed the side yard completed with pavers. Ronnie made it happen! They actually started the next day! They were done in 5. Amazing crew the 2nd time around. Super respectful, clean, great communication. I was very impressed. The end result was once again beautiful. We had North County Paver instal a ~750 sqft patio and gas fireplace. If I could review just on workmanship and the end product I would give 5 stars, it's beautiful! There were a few negatives though. Ronnie (the owner) came to give us the quote, he was great and definitely helped us with the design, but he was not onsite during the construction. I felt like he was not really in the loop about what was happening on our project. The guys working at the house were very nice, but after the job was completed we found lots of cigarette butts and some trash in our yard left from them. They also cut a couple of our drip system lines and either didn't realize or just did not want to tell us. We water at night so it took a couple of weeks before my husband and I saw the hole that was being made under the pavers from the leak. The other cuts were just spraying water all over the place. They came out to rip up some of the pavers fix the line and replace them. It looked awful this first time and they didn't even fix all the breaks. They said they would return because they had to get new parts... two weeks later I had to call to find out why they hadn't returned. A new guy came out and apologized, he and his crew redid the poor job the first guys did and it looks much better, you can't even tell they had to rip it up twice. There is still one broken line that we found after this visit but we just gave up and fixed it ourselves. On a positive note Ronnie threw in a personalized stone with engraving for my son (this was even before we had all the issues). I would definitely recommend them I feel like maybe we had some fluke issues but definitely keep an eye on things and do a thorough walk through with Ronnie ( I think this could have saved us some trouble, we were just so excited we didn't really do a good inspection). Price was not on the cheap end but I also don't think it was exorbitant. read more

I highly recommend North County Pavers. When we contracted their service, we were told it might be a few weeks out to get the work done due to their busy schedule. We were fine with that. When Ronny called a couple weeks later to say he would fit us in right away due to a cancellation, we jumped at it. We figured the work would take at least a week. There was cement to break up and haul out-dirt and large roots to dig out and haul out before they could even start.
