I had my initial appointment with Dr. Drexinger this past week. I came with three areas of concern, and having had good experiences with neurologists in the past, the last one 5 years ago was terrible, so I did not honestly know what to expect. Overall I'm used to doctors dismissing or minimizing my concerns or at best limiting the scope of discussion. Dr, Drexinger revitalized my hope in seeing doctors who truly understand. He spent a long time with me and I found him to be personable, has a great sense of humor, and compassionate. He should be: he suffers from at least one of the conditions he treats. When my understanding was incorrect, he simply shared what research has supported, but not from a superior point of view, but as if in casual conversation. He sent me off with labs and will recommend treatment from there, but said to come back when I wanted to. I'm not very hopeful about my most troublesome complaint, which he shares, but it is what it is. As for the other two, I'm very pleased with what he recommended. read more

What an awesome visit. I saw Haley Doron for my migraines. She was extremely knowledgeable and very up-to-date on all the new medicines and procedures. We plotted a course for my upcoming treatment in as little as 2 weeks. Today's visit, I was met promptly and was called back within 3 minutes of the original appointment time. I had an apt with dr. Drexinger yesterday at 10am. I arrived at 9:30 to do new patient paper work and I was told at 11 after I had been there for an hour that it would be about 2.5 more hours! I told them I had to take off work and scheduled this a week in advance to make his appointment. I let them know they need to work on scheduling a little better so that there is ample enough time for the doctor to finish the appointments. The office manager told me well that's the way the doctor likes to schedule and she let me know like a smart ass that if I would like to wait for my appointment I could let the doctor know how I felt about his scheduling! Well de.drexinger get your shit together and learn how to space your appointments out properly! THANKS FOR MAKING ME WASTE NOT ONLY A DAY OFF WORK BUT ALSO MY WHOLE MORNING! Also you should really consider making your employees dress a little more professional because it looks a hot mess. I also saw one of the doctors mumble something loud down the hallway and then slam the exit door in the back so hard that all the papers on the door fell .... seems like a super toxic environment. My appointment with Dr. Drexinger was at 2:30pm. I arrived at 2:20pm, with my new patient paperwork already filled out. I had not been called back at 3:30pm; when I asked the front desk person if the doctor was behind, she rolled her eyes and said, "He's always behind". The MA called me back at that point. She put in an office in the back corner of the practice and hooked me up to the electrodes to do the EEG (which is what I had been referred there for). Then she walked away without a word. I sat there for 20 minutes before I asked my husband how long an EEG was supposed to take, since the MA had not told me and neither she nor the doctor had checked on me. My husband found that it was supposed to take about an hour, so I tried to be patient, but I was getting really frustrated. I had not met the doctor by that time, but from where I sat I could see him walk in a out of his office down the hall, going back and forth to the front desk. He was obviously doing paperwork for other patients, updating their charts and the like. I could tell this because we could not only see him, but hear literally everything he and the front desk staff said from where we sat. So we heard every stupid question he asked about their software, every patient name he said and the symptom code the staff gave back to him. I heard the office assistant call patients (to stress this again, I heard all their names) to cancel their appointments Monday because the doctor "had an emergency". Then I heard her talk with her manager about how the real reason they had to cancel appointments was because they were overbooked. And happily talk shit about every patient that had dared be upset at the cancellation. So that went on for about an hour and half (30 minutes longer than an EEG usually takes, if we're counting) then the MA came and unhooked me from the machine. Then we sat for another 15-20 minutes, still watching Dr. Technical Incompetent go from his office to the front desk, until the staff all left for the day. It was after 5 before he even came in the room. Then he took another half hour figuring out how to play the EEG (he hadn't even watched it yet!). My husband and I had to coach him how to use his own office's software. It was close to 7pm by the time we left. For a 2:30pm appointment. Fuck. This. Place. read more

Wish there was a negative star. He would get neg 4 stars. My second time at this practice with my Aunt. she is 80 and needs someone to help remember what is said and to explain things after she leaves. My bad for not checking better with my Aunt. Did not realize it was the same Dr until after we waited for OVER 2 hours with No explanation or even an attempt to communicate with those WAITING in the waiting room. NONE! Poor customer service and non caring for anyones time. No explanations. Had to repeatedly ask why the delay. After 2 hours and 10 mins we were finally told there was still another NEW pt ahead of us. He had been with the same pt for the entire time we had been waiting already 2 hrs. My aunt made the appt for a diff problem from the first time and asked for an appt with one of the other mds in this practice. She was told she MUST see the same md even when she requested another md. I was unaware she was told that and we were seeing Dr D again or we would not have gone. The last time with him was also a 1.5 hour plus wait for a 10 min "diagnosis" in which he never touched her wrist to check for carpal tunnel. Stay away!!!!!! read more

Was referred to this practice due to a pinched nerve. After getting the results of the MRI, was told to use a traction collar and consider an cervical epidural. The traction collar made the pain much worse and uncontrollable. I Requested that they submit the certification for the cervical epidural, yet 5 days later, The spine/pain clinic still has no paperwork. The pain is so significant that I am not sleeping and nothing seems to decrease it. I called the practice manager to see if I could expedite the epidural and she told me I needed to take the pain pills and go to the ER. There's absolutely no sense of urgency or care and concern with this practice. read more

What an absolute quack! I waited nearly an hour to be seen while suffering from a severe migraine and experiencing massive nausea and photophobia. My blood pressure was taken inaccurately, and I was taken to an office rather than a dark, cool patient room. Dr. Bernard Drexinger never formally examined me. No vitals taken, no pain score questions, and when I informed him that I was on blood thinner treatment and felt somewhat emotionally unstable during my migraine attacks, he literally attempted to prescribe me a medicine that causes suicidal thoughts, (that by the way would not have ANY effects on my migraine for 48 to 72 hours) and suggested that I couple it with BENADRYL in order to "sleep through the effects". Never suggested a follow-up visit and seemed to be more preoccupied with his Muddy Waters blues collection and anecdotal stories about his family rather than my treatment.
