I originally discovered Animal Wellness Center when my regular vet couldn't get my sick pup in…read more That was three years ago, and since then it seemed to happened pretty often that my regular vet just couldn't find time to treat my dog (these weren't small things- once was bordetella and another time my dog had been vomiting and pooping a lot of blood), but every single time Animal Wellness would make the time. Eventually I came to my senses and chose the longer drive so that my dog could get the care he needs consistently and I could have peace of mind knowing there was a group of really good vets that are willing to listen to me and help me take the best care I can of him. Zero regrets for changing to them more than a year ago. I'd give more stars if I could, the whole staff is great, they have excellent hours, it's always very clean, and I always feel like my boy has gotten the very best treatment. Oh, and the pricing has always been very reasonable and transparent- from dental cleaning to same day visits for ear infections to vaccines, I always have a good idea of the price range before services. My daughter called DAILY multiple times to get these papers. They didn't return a single phone call. Not ONE. They FINALLY sent her the INCORRECT papers the day before she left the country. They literally sent her a FORM letter. They NEVER submitted the paperwork. This kind of incompetence and unprofessionalism is DISGRACEFUL. My daughter is traumatized. He is an absolute gem of a human being and an outstandingly knowledgeable animal health provider. He takes his time, offers explanations, and will do his best to keep your visit cost at a minimum. What I specifically appreciate is his willingness to see your animal as soon as possible, but take his time to go over options and preventative care. He really considers the whole animal. When my childhood dog passed after 16 years - we rescued her from Oxford so she only ever saw Dr. Glidden - he was very comforting and sympathetic for us and our girl. After working with us and our yellow lab, Lacey, for so long, it was emotional for everyone involved. Since Lacey passed, I now have two poodle mix that go to Lakeville - one being a puppy. The staff has been so accommodating in helping us get the puppy, George, used to the vet experience. When our older dog got his annual vaccines, they gave the shots right in the room with us, which helped our Louis stay comfortable. Dr. Glidden and his team were quick, gentle, and respectfully aware of his body language. It kept our pup's stress to a minimum. The building interior was recently redone and looks wonderful. Not to mention, the front desk staff are kind and helpful. You can tell they really love the animals. I now live 40 minutes from Oxford, but I will continue to trust my pups only to Dr. Glidden and his team. He is the best and I genuinely mean that!!

However, Dr Ura-Barton and her staff took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions and concerns in addition to educating me on their treatment plan recommendations along with what I could expect next. Although we had to make a difficult decision in the end, their sincerity and compassion they had meant more to me than I could ever express. In addition, they also offer a "free vaccine for life" program that we enrolled our other dog in for a low one-time enrollment fee that only requires an annual well exam visit. They understand that our pets are our family and stress the importance of preventive care. Thank you for being our "other family doctor"!

They provided methods to resolve it, not just giving her medicine/pills but more natural ways to hopefully help the issue. She was worlds better after their recommendations. They also ask you before doing any tests to make sure you approve. Any prescriptions such as a probiotic you can get right there. Pricing is reasonable, I didn't feel it was overly expensive for either visits. I also appreciate the appointment availability - they have a lot of options. Spacious facility with a lot of rooms and friendly staff. Glad I found a new vet office I align well with my dog is happy going to!

They were great at responding to emails as well! Service was quick/on time and even earlier than the scheduled appointments! The only real hesitation I had is that they have an office cat that roams the lobby. My first dog didn't bat an eye but I was nervous about my second dog who had never seen a cat before, and luckily behaved / was only curious. We decided to go to a local vet instead of our own that is over an hour away. What a great decision! The ladies at Advanced pet care, Dr Sheldon, MW, and AC were way more then we could of hoped for. They took our Miley's passing very personal, were incredibly patient, and kind and had so much compassion for what we were going through. Not once did we feel rushed or pushed. They have this amazing living room setup. With a private entrance and exit. Couch, fire place, dog bed with blankets. The ladies brought us tissue boxes and bottled water. These ladies made a horrible day as beautiful as possible. We will be switching all of our animals to this veterinary office. From the bottom of my heart I cannot thank these ladies enough. I've read through other reviews out of curiosity - here are some of the comments that I can give my take on. Is the care here cheap? No! Is the care here thorough, trustworthy, and high quality? Yes! I do not mind the pricing at all given the care my pets receive. It is clean, they are thorough and knowledgeable, pricing is transparent and they ask consent while providing an estimate before doing anything. I'm not guilted if I refuse a service - just educated on the consequences/changes in outcomes/reasons for their recommendations, which is IMPORTANT, whether or not you are ready to hear it. Let's have more respect for our vets who want to do right by our pets, but can't do that on their own dime. Yes, even though Covid is over, you can still wait in the car with your pet. This has really been helpful for my dog who gets more and more anxious the longer he sits in the waiting room. They have options for non-medical visits for behavioral issues if your pet has more severe anxiety about vets. They do not allow e-collars at visits, which is a good idea (imo, not everyone uses them appropriately anyhow!). My dogs, admittedly, are not the easiest patients. I adopted both of them as adults, and they have their quirks. However, the dogs aren't afraid and the team gets the job done without issues and plenty of bribery. To clear up some other issues with other reviews - Are they available after hours, weekends, and holidays for emergencies? No! They are not an er vet clinic. Yes, they may not be able to fit you in immediately. But they do have first call, same day appointments which has worked out well in urgent situations - when they fill up, they fill up. Staff will call you if there is a cancellation and they understand the urgency of your need. I can't blame their team for needing some sort of work/life balance! I believe they offer care credit and other options if you can't immediately afford the care your animal needs. There is some sort of gift basket raffle every now and again to raise money for needy pets. Overall, I recommend this office for the thorough care my pets receive. Thank you to the team at APC!
