It was also the day their newly voted in Paster would give the sermon. He and his wife are fairly young; expecting their first child, a girl. Music was provided by three guitarists who also sang. I didn't know any of the songs, but the men were pretty good, they just needed to step up the tempo a bit. The church itself is small, but very nice. People were friendly and visitors are given a welcome package with the New Testament a pen and bookmarker. A nice gesture. The Paster preached on 2nd Timothy and I feel did a good job; in other words, the message was clear. I enjoyed going with my sibling and if you are looking for a Church home in the country, would recommend this one. As they say, "Boots and Buckles" are welcomed here.

Praise provide this and I forgot what a bonding time this is for a Christian. The remembrance of Christ. I also loved all the young people there. I am an older woman with two young adult children and can totally see the relationships they can build in this church. It restored my faith that young people are still actively seeking God and when our country is so evil....young people are involved and can help make a change, bring their children up with a Christian view and help set the moral compass. We went to the stations on Good Friday to hear the story of Jesus's life before His resurrection. The actors, the organization and the choreography was wonderful! Thank you all who participated because it was beautiful.Perfect name for your church...Praise.

I really like how everyone here is from a different walk of life, and everyone has such an interesting story! the pastors are very fun to listen to and there's none of that new day crap where people think certain sins are "ok" to do. its the true word and a great church!

My 3 year old son had 2 bruises near his eye several weeks apart and continues to play hard and be active and get various bruises. The members that worked with the children asked me passing through and I may have given a few different answers and sounded a tad nervous but that's just me.Then CPS was at my house and turned my house upside down and interviewed my 8 year old daughter and she still has long term effects from this experience.The CPS worker offered me a job because I have the appropriate degree and she said it was ridiculous that she had to make a visit. Nothing was found but LOVE. It was a huge rush to judgement and a very worldly and ungodly answer to a concern. They could have called my previous pastor where we were members for 5 years, they could have come make a house call and prayed with me if they truly thought there was abuse but they called CPS instead. I realize they are held to the Texas law but Gods Authority is much higher. I always have looked at my church as a family this is not how I would ever treat any of my family members.I would think twice before sending my child to their property. I feel this situation was handled improperly and that the church responded with a very worldly answer rather than in the Love of Christ. The Pastor was aware of the CPS decision and has yet to come to apologize

We've always valued the preaching, which is not based on feel good topics and supported by random bits of the Bible, but is a true study of God's Word, verse by verse. There are also so many talented, passionate musicians who lead the church in singing praises to God. At first, we met a lot of smiling, friendly people, but struggled to feel like we fit in. Since church wasn't exactly working out as a social fix for us, we started SERVING. For us, that meant spending time in the children, youth, and music ministries and going to help start a church in the heart of Mexico. That is when Hillcrest really became family. At Hillcrest we gather together to SERVE, not to be served. What a joy it is to serve alongside these people! We all need Jesus everyday. We are all learning to love and serve like Him. We would love to have you join us!
