The shop is set back from the road and looking at the outside, it doesn't look like much and the inside is pretty basic, but you shouldn't judge a take away from it's facade . The staff are always friendly, the food is fresh and the menu is pretty much what you'd expect, but with a wide choice of take away options in the area, there's a reason that this place has lasted over the years and that's because what it lacks in glamour it makes up in other ways. I have noticed on our visit that they have started doing a few meal packages recently, which appear to be aimed at the local market and in line with other local take always, not to my tastes, but I don't like to judge. Personally it's one of our local "go to" places when we want a takeaway because it's consistent and we know that if do want a change they would be glad to make a recommendation.

The restaurant does cater for vegetarians, however it appears they count dishes as vegetarian as long as they don't contain chunks of meat. One of the staff told me most of their vegetarian dishes do include meat products (eg, animal fat). The Good Date does cheap (around £5) business lunches Monday to Friday, although for some reason it doesn't open on a Saturday. These three course lunches are very filling, with the starter and main course both very large. The desert (an apple pie, ice cream or a banana fritter) are quite small, but most people tend not to have room left for a desert anyway!

The awesome thing about Oriental Cuisine is that it is part of a hybrid Indian/Chinese take away, both of which are in the same premises. However, the downside is that they both have separate delivery drivers, so if you rang for it to be delivered it wouldn't get sent at the same time, which is pretty weird. Makes no sense to me! The menu is pretty massive, too massive in my opinion! It is so hard to choose from the numerous chicken, beef, fish and veggie dishes that they have, prepared in a traditional Chinese or Malaysian style. A great deal to take advantage of is the aptly named 'happy meal', which is available at all times, and includes soup, an appetiser and a main meal with rice and small bag of prawn crackers for a fantastically purse friendly £8! I usually go for the chicken and sweetcorn soup, which is lovely, thick and gloopy, just like it should be. Then I get the classic spring rolls, which I'm normally not to keen on but the ones from here are yummy! Really crispy and packed with loads of Chinese veggies. The Kung Po chicken (hold the cashew nuts!) is awesome too. The bite sized pieces of chicken in light batter with sweet peppers and crunchy water chestnuts and baby corn is definitely one of Oriental Express' best dishes. The vegetable spring roll you could tell was fresh and in house made. The portions where a little too big for one person and could easily feel two people easy. The only downside of the take away was that the waiting area was cold and when the door opened the cold breeze went straight through you. A lot of customers that l saw where confused and trying to push the door than pull, a sign could have made things clearer.

There are seats around the walls inside, a tiled floor, television on the counter, everything clean and well looked after.
