His whole approach was different from any podiatry I had seen in the past. His state-of-the-art approach was to identify how I walked and the weight distribution of my feet using various technologies. Once, he determined the type of stance and foot orientation I had. He began treatment. This was the first time I've had a detailed image of my foot taken. The attention to detail in treating my foot condition was above and beyond. Dr. Brookshire tried not to treat the pain temporarily, but solve the problem permanently or with a long-lasting solution. After seeing him a few times, he finally came up with a solution to my pain, and my feet are not in constant pain anymore. Don't waste your time dealing with other Podiatrists. Dad's getting older and can't quite manscape like he used to. One day he asked me to help him with his toenails and let's just say that what I saw is something not easily forgotten. I'm the first one to admit when I can't do something, so I looked online for somebody who could and came across North Park Podiatry. We've been to both locations in Hillcrest and North Park. The Hillcrest location is a little tricky to get into, but they pay for parking, so it's not that big a deal if you're a decent driver. The North Park location is much more accessible and street parking is free. Both locations have super friendly, accommodating staff who are more than willing to deal with elderly talons. They also put up with Dad's stories (no, he wasn't in the original Top Gun) and questions about where everybody's from (he's just curious and likes meeting new people). They accept health insurance, but are also super reasonably priced if you want to pay out of pocket. read more

I requested to see Dr. Brookshier after a cortisone injection didn't help fix my plantar fasciopathy. He was very thorough with his assessment , taking X-ray and gait analysis to figure out the next step. Unfortunately the shock wave therapy he suggested was not covered by my medical insurance . Being a kind and good person, Dr. Brookshier offered to do the shock wave therapy for free. This is very unusual nowadays and I admit I had doubts initially but I was desperate for cure. After 2 sessions, my plantar fasciitis is gone and I am back to running. The shock wave worked!!! Dr. Brookshier is truly a healer. I've had an issue with foot pain I've experienced for years and it was progressing to the point where it was affecting my quality of life. It literally felt like I was walking on a bed of coals. I knew I couldn't wait any longer so I started looking for a doctor with whom I could consult. My first doctor told me to stop wearing tight shoes and that would take care of my issue. So I went on to my second doctor and besides the uncleanliness of the clinic and most disappointing, the doctor told me I needed inserts and tried to sell me a $400 orthotic. I began to feel it was hopeless and there was nothing that could be done. But I was determined, so I researched more doctors, read many many reviews and I discovered Dr. Forg with nothing but exceptional reviews so I booked an appointment. She Immediately diagnosed the problem to be a neuroma. She didn't tell me to stop wearing tight shoes, nor did she try to sell me expensive orthotics. After she explained my condition, causes and treatment options, I decided surgery would be my best bet. Because of prior commitments requiring travel, I decided to wait until I had no more distractions. About 8 months after my prior appointment with Dr. Forg, I was finally ready to schedule; however, I was devastated when I phoned the clinic and they told me she was retiring. As far as I was concerned she was the best and I couldn't imagine how I was going to find another doctor. The office told there will be another doctor taking over her practice, but I was still unsure. They informed me, Dr. Forg specifically chose her replacement, Dr. Trent Brookshier. I immediately felt hopeful, scheduled an appointment and I could not have been more pleased. Dr. Brookshier was a gift! He asked questions, listened very attentively, he was extremely professional yet personable with a great sense of humor. He was very knowledgeable and explained my condition just as Dr. Forg had. It was at that point in which I immediately knew I was in good hands. We scheduled the surgery which was a week ago, everything went well and immediately after surgery, he showed me the neuroma he had removed. From the time I left the hospital to my post op appt, my foot had barely any swelling or bruising. I've had minimal pain and that was only on the day of surgery. For the first week I had my foot wrapped and I wore a boot to protect it. Though today, my one week post op I was able to boot the boot and return to my sandals. My incision was beautiful, clean and I was very pleased. Believe me, I've had many surgeries and I have never seen such good work as Dr. Trent Brookshier's. When I'm completely healed, I seriously doubt the incision will even be visible. It was such a great relief to say good riddance to the culprit which caused me so much agony for way too long. There is no question Dr. Brookshier's authentic care and concern for his patients, his competency, his exceptional skill and talent will take him a long way in his profession. As a former patient of Dr.Brookshier, I definitely will refer him to anyone looking for an exceptional Podiatrist. Thank you Dr. Brookshier for your excellent care. P.S. Dr. Brookshier came highly recommended by a friend, so I went to see him after living with chronic plantar fasciitis in my left foot for over a year. I had been doing everything I was supposed to do (stopped walking for exercise, wearing a splint at night, frozen water bottle, compression socks, heel cups, etc.), but by the time I saw Dr. Brookshier for the first time, he explained that although I was doing the right things, my plantar fasciitis was chronic and there was nothing I could do, myself, to make it better. He said I had three options: surgery, a stem cell injection, or a PRP injection. His opinion was that the stem cell injection would have the highest probability of success, so a couple of weeks later I went into his office for the injection. I didn't have to wait months for an appointment, only a couple of weeks, which was awesome. I felt no relief after my first visit with him a month later, but he had explained it could take a few months for the injection to fully take effect. I was a little frustrated, but he was so encouraging and supportive that I left his office feeling way more hopeful than I had been. After my next visit with him, a month later, I still felt very little relief and was wondering whether or not the injection was going to work at all. I was getting frustrated and on the verge of pursuing the surgery route, but he was so determined to help me, so insistent on doing everything he could to provide me with some relief, and encouraged me to be patient, saying, "Surgery, no way, we're going to get you better!". Well, about a week after that last visit (just over two months since the injection), I woke up feeling some relief in my foot for the first time in close to a year and a half! I was so excited to tell Dr. Brookshier during my next visit, and when I did, he said that hearing that made his day. Almost three months after the injection, my foot is getting better every day, and it's the best feeling ever.
