I was initially hired by NRT as a driver. In the second week of August, I was brought in for onboarding, where I participated in driver training. During my in-class and driver training, I performed extremely well. Since I did so well in the training, I was provided a 7D vehicle and a route to pick up children without a 7D license. I was told that I will be given a route and a van under the condition that I take the RMV exam and pass it. So, I was doing a route for a month and a half picking up and dropping off children from Cambridge to Natick. After the month and a half period, I was scheduled to take the 7D exam at the RMV, and I passed it on my first attempt. This is when I went to the representative at the RMV and was told that they did not have my application on file and had to go back to my employer for information. This is when I knew something was wrong.
When I went back to the NRT office, I informed the managers that the RMV did not have my 7D application, and they told me they would find out what was going on. This is when later I was told a bunch of lies about why my application was never submitted. They first told me that it was because my driving history was bad. This is incorrect because I have a clean driving record and have been driving for over 20 years. I am also aware that they would have never hired me and trained me as a driver if there were issues with my history. This is when they told me the next lie and said it was because I failed the onboarding training. This is when I told them that if I failed the training, why was I still given a route and was driving kids from Cambridge to Natick? Then other employees were informing me that they were watching me through the cameras that were on the van and saw that I was driving well since I was given a route. I was driving on expressways and different terrain with ease and was told they were impressed with my driving.
This is when it started to be a hassle obtaining my 7D credentials from the RMV. I passed the RMV exam and was required to give the RMV information on the person who trained me, but they were not willing to provide me with that information; without it, I could not get the license. I even did another driving exam with the NRT instructor, and they told me that my driving was good. I was told that they were going to send my information to the RMV since I passed the driving training twice, but then they called me, saying that I was hired as a monitor and was never supposed to be a driver. If they wanted monitors, they should have said that when I was hired, but they told me I was specifically a driver.
I know this is discrimination because the company has a heavy Hispanic demographic and they tend to stick together. Since I started, they were all very rude to me and were not fond of me doing well during the trainings. They do not respect people for who they are; this is why they only have 2 starts on Google. If this was a company that was more demographically integrated, it would do a lot better. I am still fighting until this day to get my training information. They told me to take the 7D exam and the training, but now when it is time to give me my information, they do not want to give it to me. This is the worst company ever, and I have never experienced this in my life. read more
