The is occasionally food available at the front of the centre, but vending machines are available to use all day. Large toilets are available for the public and these are kept clean and tidy. Other facilities are available for fitness purposes. Prices for kids partys are very cheap and i could praise the service highly well worth a visit.

They have a sportshall which is used to host international sporting events, such as Netball, Futsal and Basketball. They have an excellent gym set up with all the machines you could ever want access to along side a free weight area. They have a swimming pool with communal changing facilities. The information around the venue is good as I get the idea that all kinda of classes are out on throughout the day. The staff were all very helpful throughout my time here. As a facility I cannot fault it. I couldn't give it five stars as I am not sure of the pricing structure and as we all know price can make a difference to all things. I would say there is high student usage but as it is part if the university that is not a surprise really. If you up in the northeast and need a gym, swimming pool or sportshall this is the place to go.

Inside they have a snack cafe bar where you can sit and watch the tennis. The Gym in the centre is quite small but has all the equipment. They also do classes in the centre such as legs bums and tums. It is surrounded by a big park brilliant for walking and cycling.

They also have a room which can be used for kids partys, i have been to a couple of those there to and the room is very big. Outside is a great play area for the kids and on a nice day you can go for a walk too. The is currently plans to build a large swimming pool at the centre, so i guess this will bring in more people, but overall well worth a visit as there is always something to do, rain or shine.

The building is only about 10 years old so its fairly modern inside. It does not have a cafe which is a bit of a let down it has a good Gym and fitness suite. The staff are usually helpful and friendly in addition a concordia center is not far away with more amenities.

Durham is English cricket's youngest first-class county. This is a lovely ground, well-signed, and easy to get to, with plenty of carparking near the…read moreground. There were traffic queues when we arrived for a 20/20 match in August between Durham and Lancashire, but nothing too annoying. Seats were comfortable enough, with a good view of the ground. we didn't particularly like the scantily-clad Durham cheerleaders and the increasingly excitable spectators who'd spent a lot of time in the beer tents, but would have put up with that if there'd been good cricket. But the rains came, bringing several prolonged interruptions, and in the end the game was abandoned. Not the club's fault, any cricket ground is miserable in the wet, but maybe they could do more for spectators when it does rain. The bars and shop got very crowded, there were queues at the unsheltered concessions. My friend said the chips were the worst he'd ever tasted anywhere, but he was wet and cold himself so that may be unfair.

They have 4 excellent gym areas, the Shokk (under 18s), private gym used for exercise on referral etc, the weightlifting and the lifestyle gym (state of the art equipment set over 2 floors- membership induction needed ) The pool area is a full size main pool plus a learner pool that has a suspended floor so the depth can be varied. A full range of swimming classes are available for adults as well as kids and of course Derwentside Simming Club is based here too for the more competitive or serious swimmer. The only let down is the bar / cafe area - there is a small soft play area - only really suitable for under 6 yrs - which now looks very tired and dated although the food is good and reasonably priced. The staff are all friendly and are happy to give advice on anything.
