Found this place on Google/Yelp because I wanted an authorized Audi Repair shop. Eddie who I met there was able to immediately coordinate with my insurance company within a day and established an adjusting review of the damages during Christmas and New Year Holiday. He gave me a ride down the road to the Enterprise Car Rental. After the approval was given by the insurance company to go ahead with the repairs, Eddie periodically called me every three day to keep me informed of progress. Overall, Eddie proactively was engaged and when I called, my call was returned immediately. Overall the experience was great. Essentially, i dropped off the car, he coordinated with insurance company, did the fix, and I picked up the car. The body fix was fantastic. It was restored to it original state with paint on new parts blended with other parts that as not damaged. The car was returned in beautiful condition. Wow what unbelievable service and a real genuine shop. I recently took my Mercedes E320 here to get some mechanical work done. I met with the owner, Randy, who was very knowledgeable, honest and helpful. He examined my car and called me in to discuss my options. He gave me a true honest estimate and told me what absolutely needed to be fixed and what else could be fixed at my discretion. I was shocked to say the least!!!! Most auto shops I have been to are always trying to scam me and trick me into spending unnecessary money. I could tell North Shore was different. They valued my car and money and wanted me as a long term customer. I agreed to having a handfull mechanical problems repaired: Front hub bearings, outer tie rods, front stabilizer, front breaks, air filter, wheel alignment, lube, oil and filter. The work was done within a few days and the car was driving like new. They even cleaned the inside out for me! I went there to get a quote for body work. I have to tell you this place wins an award for giving me highest quote to do the job. I was quoted over $5000.00 for a job that the dealer charged me $1480.0 tax included!!! I got 10 quotes and none of them was more than $3000.00!! I explained to the guy, that I was paying out of the pocket too & still he tried to rob me!! He walks around the car and makes up B.S story that I have to do this, and that. Plus he goes once I disassemble the car the price may go higher as I do not know what is under it? Mind you this was small dent on the fender and a cracked bumper that you could easily see under it, by just bending over. I would say make sure you get few quotes before you go to them. read more

When he arrived, he declined to take the car since he had not been paid yet, even though this was, again, arranged via the insurance company. I went to 3 body shop for a repair estimate for damage to my bumper. Guy comes out of the office, barely looks at it and says, 'Two grand. You need a new bumper.' Mind you, the replacement bumper costs $300, unpainted. This was more than double the estimate from the other two body shops that I went to. Definitely recommend! I broke down with my car last week and called for a tow truck. He arrived within 10 minutes (which was shocking as it was a torrential rain storm). The manager Ed would not let me take my car from his storage lot so I could have it towed to a salvage yard, It had been hit head-on while parked in front of my house. and the driver left the scene. He told me I needed over 900 dollars cash to pay the fee. I left the shop and retrurned with the cash and then he said I had to make an appointment to get the car since it was buried in the yard. It was Friday at 1:30 in the afternoon. He said to come back Monday and he would have the car available for towing and it would cost me three more days of storage totaling 180 dollars. He also charged me 250 for a 5 mile tow and 1 hundred to allow the insurance adjuster to look at the car. After threatening to call the Police and having him sign a statement that he refused to release my car, which is illegal, he relented and accepted my 902.00 and told me to return at 6:00 pm after the shop closes and get the car. I went up the road to check out the lot and the car was sitting right in front, not buried as he stated. The tow drivers there stated they often had problems with this shop releasing cars as he wanted to make money on storage fees of $60. a day.That's more than a parking garage charges in midtown Manhattan. Don't have your car towed to this shop, You have a choice, use it to choose another reputable shop. read more

I recently was in an accident, and was on my way to an auto body shop recommended by an acquaintance. I was stressed and drove up and down East Shore road having no luck, when I saw a sign that read North Shore Auto. This was not the shop I was looking for, however I pulled in because I saw a gentleman standing outside. I rolled down my window and proceeded to ask him for directions to the shop I was originally going to. He was very polite, gave me the directions. It was clear I was very upset. He offered me water, and he began to introduce himself as the General Mangager of the shop. We spoke briefly about my accident and the damaged my car suffered from. His name was Alex Aquilina. He said if I wanted , I should bring back my car tomorrow and he would help me. He was so polite and proffessional. The next morning I returned and was greeted by Mr. Aquilina. He was quick to get me a rental car, and assured me I would have my car back by in a couple of weeks. Mr. Aquilina was a man of his word. He represented his shop with pure class and professionalism. Mr. Aquilina went into full detail of all the repaires they did on my car. I couldn't believe my eyes, my car looked like it did the day I brought it home from the dealer. I would highly recommend North Shore Auto to anyone who wants quality, detailed work on their cars. I was in the process of getting a couple of estimates for my Husband's car for some very minor damage to a back door (a small dent on a back door, toward the bottom part of the door). The guy helping me looks at it for all of 5 seconds and says something to the extent of "there's no way this can be repaired; the entire door needs to be replaced." I was thinking, get out of town, are you seeing the same thing I'm seeing? A small dent can't be repaired?? The quote was a ridiculous amount, and the guy, pushing the knife in deeper, says something like "this is the preliminary estimate, we never know if something is damaged on the inside of the door." I know nothing of auto body repair, but please don't treat me as if I'm dumb as rocks! The second place I go to made me feel completely at ease and they were completely professional! They are a very reputable body shop that said it could be repaired (obviously). The estimate was for one third of the first quote from North Shore. So many crooks out there, it's unbelievable!
