Have been wanting to give the simulators at Axon a try for over a year now but it was hard to find…read moretime given my work schedule and inability to coordinate with friends to go down to their Beckwith location. We were trying to figure out what to do after lunchtime and I remembered that Axon was now open in Aberdeen Centre so we stopped by (reservations recommended). I have a Logitech/Playseat rig at home that's collected dust for the better part of 2 years but used to be more active with driving sims and racing games so I'm familiar with those systems and Assetto Corsa but it's my first time with something that simulates G-force. The friends that I came with have never really tried simulators at any level before so it was interesting to see how they fared. We all found the simulators to be quite intuitive, they gave us an orientation on a Porsche Boxster which was easy to learn on and did exactly what we thought it would. We tried two more cars and tracks and left very impressed with the quality of the simulators. I really liked the social aspect of it and being able to talk smack on the provided headsets. For those who have only ever driven on the street and in traffic, you don't ever really get to feel the sensation of a car that's about to lose control. This is a safe way to feel the sensation of steering getting light, understeer, and weight transfer when the car is upset. The best part was that all 4 of us left feeling like better drivers and were significantly more confident with limit handling. All of the equipment is considerably more expensive and state of the art compared to the arcade racing games we grew up playing so don't expect to be paying $1 for 5 minutes of Daytona USA. I think the era of those low quality arcade racing games is over as your average smartphone racing game is already way beyond that level of entertainment. Pricing-wise I feel that it's geared towards your more serious driving enthusiast rather than your casual gamer. I liken it to just having a treadmill and some dumbbells at home to actually investing in a personal trainer. There is value to your investment but understandably not all can justify the commitment. I think more options for drop-in/casual participants will help expand Axon's niche market as a $65-120 monthly commitment is a considerable expense (certainly more than my rarely used gym membership :P ). The simulators here are a lot more sophisticated and actually valuable for more serious driver training. As someone who's participated in a lot of track days at various race tracks, I left Axon feeling like I still had a lot to learn. There is an element of fear that you simply can't overcome in a real car which will always hold you back from reaching their actual limit, but high quality simulators like these give you a risk-free way of experiencing that limit (and beyond as indicated by the number of spin outs I had in the short time I was at Axon).

I asked to get it back asap. Said he would phone when ready. I called 5 hours later, might be done by 5 ( less than a hour to do) I said you have had it since 9, told me to hold, then came back and said maybe at 3:30. I seen where this was going. Went picked up tire and rim and new tire, took else where, they were busy but they would do right away. Asked why i did not just patch tire on inside? This was due to upsale of service manager! Ive been coming to the his place for decades! Maybe we both had bad days but i will travel miles before i support this place again. To bad as Troy is a great person / owner and staff freindly, but this service manager is one not to deal with if you go there! He upsells you goes out of his way to piss you off if you dont like his recomendations. what a ----

All I can say is WOW. Stay FAR away…read more I purchased a used bike from them. Everyone was nice, until they got my money. When I got the bike home, I realized that half of the advertised parts and accessories did not work, as well as some engine components being in dis-repair, leaky forks, and that a basic service was not even attempted when they purchased the bike from previous owner. They did not even wash it for me (looked like it had been through a trial run). This bike was advertised in good condition, clean title, and vigorously inspected by 2 separate mechanics, one of witch was the "head Kawasaki Race Team Mechanic". I swiftly contacted STAN, only to be completely ignored, along with TROY, who also completely ignored me. After almost a month, yes , a MONTH, I got an email from CRAIG stating that he had just been told to contact me to investigate what was wrong. To make a long story, after 5, 100km round trips to maple ridge, and the promise of them "taking care of me" at no cost to me, I was finally there to pick up my baby and leave this ordeal behind me. I almost died when they tried to blackmail me into paying a 400$ bill. I did NOT sign anything or authorize any work to be done in exchange for money, and they could not provide the contract with my signature on it. they said they were making things right, how they should of been when I bought the bike from them(not a cheap bike I may add). They threatened to keep my bike and take it apart. I almost phoned the police, but for some reason they decided to wave the fees.... hmmm.... So I get outside and hop on, start it up, and the several things that I was told would be taken care of were NOT EVEN TOUCHED. My turn signals were not NON FUNCTIONING (they worked fine before!) and no basic service was done. I looked at the bill they tried to give me, 200$ for wiring removal, 200$ for fork seal replacement! WOW! They then had the nerve to ask me to come back over a week later to fix it. At this point they were not getting near my bike again. Had to find professionals to fix my bike properly. If you have any love for your machine, take it somewhere else, anywhere else, even a high school mechanics class.

Every penny is worth spending here. Listen everyone ,if ever you think of riding a bike ,come here…read moreto get your training. I am telling this from my first hand experience as I just finished my basic training with them which covers motorcycle skills test after knowledge test. Basically they prepare you for road test with notes and hands on practice. There are industry experienced instructors who have gone to driving schools and have tons of experience learning and teaching. School has its own private lot to practice manoeuvre skills, braking, slow shifting etc. 2 days of theory class followed by 2 days lot training and 2 days on road. Isn't it worth $895.00 (Approximate fee for basic training ) Very well equipped facility with washrooms and small kitchenette. Enough gear for rain n safety. Chris ,Tony and all others are very helpful. Teaching style, patience and vast knowledge of biking world makes Chris an outstanding instructor. Christine, the administrator is also very helpful. In fact she can help u getting a road test date earlier then general public. Oh yah, a pacific ridibg t-shirt as a swag on last day. How Cool !!! I can just go on and on but enough for now. Do check them out if u wanna try riding a bike. Ur safety is at stake here so don't choose any other school then pacific riding .
