After suffering an injury at work I was recommended to SOS. It took me 3 weeks to get in for an appt (camillus office). Once I arrived I was essentially herded like cattle, shuffled in and out. My NP had no interest in answering any questions, prescribed me 2 things, told me go to PT and was on her way (PT appt's were another 3 week wait). I needed to call the offices as I had some complications in days moving forward and was abruptly told "go to the ER" and hung up on. When I switched providers, although I signed a consent form SOS refused to send any of my imaging to the new provider, and insisted I go to any of their offices and have them burn me a copy for $5. I'm sure the doctors are capable, and not all results are typical for everyone. However I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you've got an issue. Waiting for surgery in 5 weeks, and they have no desire to help control pain. I'm in need of a total hip replacement and they suggest Tylenol. They think that Tylenol and ice will help with pain at this point I'm only going to them as they will perform a revision on my original hip replacement 7yrs ago. Would not recommend read more

I can't say enough about the great care that I received from Dr. Jessica Albanese and her staff. After almost 2 years of severe leg and back pain and unsuccessful medical care from other orthopedic specialists, I finally got the treatment I needed at SOS. After getting an MRI which showed my lower back problems, Dr. Albanese recommended and provided treatment. Six months after surgery now, I have very little pain and can stand and walk like a new person! I am so thankful to have my life back!!! If you or someone you know is thinking about using Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists --- think long and hard. I had a total shoulder replacement surgery on 2/7/23. The "surgeon" told me that if I did not have the surgery, the chances of me getting my arm up over my head was minimal at best. I had the surgery --- EVERY time I went to P.T., the therapist asked me if the top of my shoulder hurt --- NEVER!! I told him EVERY day I was there that my arm hurt in one spot -- near bicep muscle -- like he never even heard me. This went on for over 4 months. I NEVER got a survey --- I am STILL getting surveys every 6 months from a knee replacement from 4 YEARS AGO!!! I contacted S.O.S.1 week ago and they said the company who oversees the survey has no record of me having surgery on 2/7/23!!! I guess the surgeon is covering all his bases -- and butt, too - to not have a negative review!!! He left my shoulder lower than my good shoulder -- I can't wear v-neck, boat neck, or u-neck tops because they all shift to the right -- and slip off my shoulder!! My bra strap NEVER stays in place - it slides off my shoulder. My arm (near bicep) is STILL swollen -- I am in pain every time I have to put a coat or button down shirt on -- or when I am putting on/off my seat belt. Sleeping on my right side -- I wake up because it hurts!! I can't get my arm up very far -- enough to get my hands on my head to wash my hair. My "surgeon" told me on our last meeting --- Unfortunately, your shoulder did not heal as I had hoped. HOPED?????? I was counting on experience and skill!!! read more

Was seen by Dr. Everding in early 2021 for chronic pain in my forearm/elbow from a work injury - after he examined me He said the pain was coming from The Neck injury I suffered from the same incident - Long story short come to find out The Judge ordered me to investigate the other sites/injuries in early April of 2023 - After an MRI it revealed Chronic tendonitis (tennis elbow)(Lateral Epicondylits) I seen a physical therapist at S.O.S for the elbow/forearm and I asked her why is there sooo much pain in my forearm she looked at it and said build up Cartilage causing severe pain along with a Jacked up TENDON for Years like this - Ridiculous over 2 years of chronic forearm/elbow pain because he said the opposite of REALITY A INJURED FOREARM/ELBOW....HORRIBLE!. This was my initial appointment. Treated kindly and respect by Nurse Hunter, X-ray technician, front desk check-in, and Dr. Albanese. All were patient, listened well, and were helpful to me, despite the flare-up of my Parkinson's disease and dystonia. I believe I have finally found component help for my spine issues. My wife's appointment at SOS was at 3:30 PM, she was there to see the doctor for a post up, pretty much a simple visit, they did not bring her in for an x-ray they said they needed until 4:27 PM, it is now 4:46 PM and she is still in there, this is unacceptable they could have done the x-ray from 330pm when she got in there!!!! I walked in at 4:45 PM to check out her there Is nobody working in there at all , everybody has gone home, nobody at the front desk nobody there to ask questions, except a cleaning crew. This is not the first time this is happened with Syracuse orthopedic specialist but I can assure you it's gonna be our last time because we're not gonna be at the mercy or convenience of them when we make an appointment we are the patients, we are the ones paying with our insurance that we pay weekly to have ! But it seems like we have to make it convenient for them that is just unacceptable. And right now it's 4:49 PM and still nobody will answer a phone in there! It sucks that you make an appointment, and when you get there 99.9% of the time when you ask why is this taking so long it's always the same answer, the doctor is running behind, again unacceptable, maybe it has something to do with having 2 or 3 people with the same appointment time, sorry for the rant but now it's 5:00 pm and still in there.
