I should have trusted my instincts the moment I walked in. Both times I visited, the waiting room…read morewas completely empty, not a single patient in sight. The only people I ever saw were Traci, and the receptionist. That alone should have told me something. Within minutes of my first appointment, before even reviewing the 15+ years of medical records I brought, Traci dismissed my long established panic disorder and insisted I was bipolar. She prescribed Cariprazine, a medication primarily used for schizophrenia and severe bipolar disorder, and told me to taper off the medication that had been working extremely well for years. I followed her instructions, and the side effects were so severe I nearly went to the ER. When I called, she didn't even speak to me directly, the receptionist relayed a message telling me to stop taking it. The Zoom follow‑up was even worse. She again cut the medication that was working and prescribed Desvenlafaxine, which is used for major depressive disorder. Once again, I followed her instructions, and once again I had major adverse effects, including my heart rate spiking to 190 bpm. My final visit lasted barely five minutes. She immediately told me she no longer wanted to treat me because I "asked too many questions" and "didn't want to be helped." Instead of calling me, she had me come in just to bill my insurance. She also pushed for a release of all my medical records, despite clearly having no interest in reviewing the ones I had already provided. Their stance on supplements was equally contradictory, claiming they're all placebos, except vitamin D, except vitamin C, except... whatever exception they felt like making. She even suggested I lose 5-10 pounds despite me being nowhere near overweight, all while she sat across from me drinking giant energy drinks. Afterward, my primary doctor was shocked, both by the medications she prescribed and by her attempt to taper me off the treatment that had been working and the speedy timeline. He confirmed what I already knew: these medications are well‑known to worsen anxiety and panic disorders. In my honest opinion, this practice is not focused on healing. The lack of oversight, the empty offices, the poor reviews across every location, platform and the careless prescribing all point to a business model built on billing, not care. As a former RN with 15 years of experience, I thought I could spot bad actors. I was wrong, and the two months I spent under their care were filled with unnecessary fear and instability. Please take these reviews seriously. I wish I had!

I have sought psychiatric treatment at many clinics. Unfortunately, I move a lot. I have also…read moreworked as a Mental Health Case Manager at a County Mental Health clinic. This office is great! It is a teaching practice, which is why an intern asks the initial questions. If you have a problem with doctors learning how to interact with patients, good luck finding anyone with bedside manner in 15 years. These questions about symptoms are routine. It shouldn't matter who asked them, they are written down and provided to the psychiatrist or physician assistant. Any concerning answers will not be missed as at least two sets of eyes are viewing your chart. I feel it is a much better system of checks and balances. As far as wait times.... everyone is given the same allotment for a psych evaluation or medication review. If you have to wait for 45 minutes, it's because a patient before you was in a crisis and took longer than the usual refill appointment. If YOU were in crisis, you'd be granted the same additional time. Have a little patience and sympathy for fellow patients. If all you need is a refill, then don't be upset about feeling "rushed"... psychiatry is full of unknowns. If some time can be banked, accept it. Take your prescriptions and go! I have never had a bad experience with ANY of the staff here. I am moving again... and incredibly disappointed that Chicago is not within driving distance of the office. Dr. Garcia got me through an incredibly rough patch. I will miss this office dearly.

Whatever you do, DO NOT BECOME A PATIENT HERE!!…read more I've been going here for the past four years, and I truly have nothing good to say about this practice. There was only one good person I met at Novi Psychiatry and Psychology, and she left within 6 months of me working with her. I totally don't blame her for leaving the practice. She truly cared about my well being and helped me through my mental struggles. After she left, I started to see Dr Garcia. All he cared about was shoving medication down my throat when I was struggling. There was one time I was in the ER because I was having an incredibly difficult time with my mental health. My mother decided to call the doctor on call to see what advice they had. Dr Garcia picked up. My mother explained the situation to him, and all he said was "tell her to take a Xanax and go to sleep; we will see her tomorrow." I didn't have a prescription, so he told my mother to see if any of my family members had one I could take. That's what we ended up doing. I was in the office the next day. They changed my medication and said that they were going to put me on a waitlist for an outpatient program. That never happened. Looking back, that is so incredibly unsafe, as I was a danger to myself back then. Thank the Lord that I've worked through most of my problems. We ended up finding a combo that worked for a bit until it didn't. So I went back in and saw Meg. One of the first things she said to me after looking at my chart was "Wow, you are like a walking medicine cabinet" due to the amount of medications I had been on during my time at the practice. I saw her for a little bit until she left. It wasn't the worst experience, but it also seemed like she didn't care much. Just a few more side things. I had a note in my file from the beginning that I would refuse to see men due to trauma from my past. That has been ignored countless times, and since Meg has left, it has been ignored completely! Second, I have never been seen on time for any of my appointments. Waiting 5-10 min is one thing, but most of the time it's between 30 minuets to 2 HOURS!!!! That is so ridiculous. I was in just yesterday and was called in early!!! Wooo, I thought I was going to get done on time, but that was not the case. I was sitting in one of the rooms for 40 minutes before the doctor came in. The doctor came in and spoke to me for three minutes, asking if I had time to stay for him to "check something". I said that it was fine because I had already been there for almost an hour at that point and missed all the other appointments that I had that day. He proceeded to ask me what I thought would be best for me. I told him I think I should up my dose, and he asked if I wanted to double or get a half dose... I'm not a doctor, so I have no clue. I asked him what I should do, and he pretty much said: "It's up to you, but I guess we will start with half for now". Last thing, all the girls that work up front are clueless about everything. I've asked many questions that I feel like they should be able to answer, and every time I get told: "I don't know". That truly was my last straw. I will not be returning. I'm sick and tired of not being listened to and having so many medications shoved down my throat. I cannot stress enough that I will NOT be back. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would!!!!

They take all of our concerns very seriously and have been extremely supportive during our struggles. Whenever we are in crisis, they have us in by the next day. They TRULY have been a great blessing to us. I refer them to everyone who might be looking for a psychiatrist. Sincerely, Michelle H

Apparently if you question her diagnosis after years of failure, you lack incite and therefore have mental illness of her prejudice. Sometimes one diagnosis doesn't work better than a list. I'm glad I found a new psychiatrist that listens and doesn't gaslight. I wanted to write a formal letter from my lawyer but it's literally not worth it. Medicine is a practice; hope she improves.
