Ranking a 3 becuase the business department is great. Now let's review the CNA testing part. This area would get a zero. Unless you have to test here, I would recommend somewhere else. Terrible....kids and parents, ask yourself why there have been 3 deans in 3 years. 8 week classes are attrition not learning. instructors dont teach, you teach yourself. DEI is heavy influence! Why is it a competition it is a tech school. I have had a university degree. This was the most humiliating experience I have ever had. I cried with my instructors....literally. No help when the school charged me out of state tuition when I live here in Green Bay. No availability for appointments in any departments. If you think they care, let me tell you otherwise. The one star review is for the financial aid office. My wife's experience with her education has been very positive at NWTC, and frankly we have had no complaints until the start of this past semester. The tuition isn't cheap but is much more affordable than any of the four year colleges. It is a great option for working adult students (which also describes my wife). However, despite filing for student loans/ aid in a timely manner, there was a delay for the fall semester in processing her loan. In addition to her tuition costs which we can't afford out of pocket, she had taken out extra funds to cover the cost of travel for clinicals, uniform costs and miscellaneous expenses which can add up quickly. Because of this delay, an additional $1000 (per week!) was put on her account while the problem was being figured out. instead of paying $5000 for the semester, she was stuck paying $7000 because the loan processing was delayed due to issues outside of my wife's control. She contested the hold on her account but the loan processed and deducted the $2000 in fees they had applied to her account. She now has to pay for expenses she had planned to fund with student loans out of pocket. Thankfully she did request more or her tuition would still not be paid and she likely would have been forced to drop out of the program. Despite the good education at this school, unless you have $20k plus that you can afford to pay out of pocket for a 2 year program, don't expect the financial aid office to work with you. read more

Nursing program: I felt this program was very challenging but overall, the school prepared me for the real life occupation well. There were A LOT of hoops to jump through and honestly some of the staff didn't care about the students; they seemed to be there for the paycheck. I was accused of cheating when I never had, and I had instructors tell me I should drop out because of grades or performance, but I proved them wrong and now I'm doing something I've dreamt of doing for a long time. Part time students get dumped on, with scheduling exams outside of class, or coming in for tutoring or skills practice, especially if you're working third shift while going to school, because these facilities are only open during the day. There were also a lot of unexpected fees we were not told about when we signed up. This was an excruciating experience and many people did drop out of the program due to stress, but once you graduate and pass your boards, you enter into one of the greatest professions and you realize it was worth the hassle. Most of everyone I spoke with in my cohort seemed to have had a pretty bad experience here, but I think it was honestly worth it. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. The dental hygiene program at NWTC was an absolute nightmare. From how disorganized the program is to the fact that none of the teachers were ever on the same page. Their lack of communication with each other was horrendous and the students paid for the teachers' mistakes. I also experienced mental and verbal abuse by one of the teachers of the program. I also witnessed many classmates being mentally and verbally abused by her as well. I highly recommend going somewhere else for your education. I currently attend college here for marketing. I have to say I have been to other schools but have never been treated as well as I have here. The staff is amazing and respectful. They work with you here. Plans fail, and they don't want to see you fail so they are willing to help you out in what ever you need. If you have questions ask them if you need help in your personal life they can direct you to someone that will listen. It is a great school full of great people. I really love all of the awesome things that they have for the students to do also. The student center and the student involvement club are awesome they can't point you in the direction of discounts and deals along with holding movie nights and having a TV and movie area for people to relax between classes. I have to say this helps a lot, it helps me prepare for the presentations I have to give that I get all wound up about. Check it out. Even if it is just to brush up on some things that you already know, you might learn something you didn't read more

I attended NWTC's welding program a few years back, and while it definitely provided me with a number of career opportunities I'm still benefiting from, there were a number of safety concerns I noticed during my time there that, in retrospect, have only become more troubling over time. Firstly, at no point in any of our courses were we taught how to properly insert our earplugs. This might seem like a small thing that most people already know how to do, but after spending a few years working as a professional welder myself, I can say that you'd be surprised how many veteran welders/machinists I've met who still have no idea how to properly wear their earplugs, and it's caused them irreversible hearing damage as a result. I had to learn how to do it on my own, which is utterly inexcusable for an institution that prides itself so heavily on adequately preparing its students for life in the industry. Second, we were never provided with any kind of breathing protection whatsoever, despite the fact that several hours of each school day were spent grinding material and being exposed to copious amounts of soot, dust, millscale, swarf, to the point where, most days, I'd blow my nose after class only to find my mucus ran black. Thirdly and finally, we were never provided with any kind of respirators to use when welding on highly-toxic-fume-producing materials such as stainless steel and aluminum. While the ventilation systems in the classrooms are up to code, we were forced numerous times to stick our faces right in a plume of toxic welding vapor almost immediately after being informed that the fumes we were inhaling had been linked to the development of Alzheimer's in adults. I love this school, and it's done a lot for me, but they have some serious strides to make in terms of prioritizing the general health and wellbeing of their students. read more

I am a nursing student, I love my instructors. You can tell they were very picky with who they hired! I learn so much with each class I take and the majority of the students are relatively nice (you'll always have those few bad eggs...) so if you ever need a partner for a project or somebody to study with, you're in luck! read more
