In our three years of living at Northgate Apartments we couldn't be happier to be leaving and moving on. All of the problems, maintenance, and lack of professionalism from members of the leasing office is why this was such an unpleasant experience for my wife and I. Honestly since we moved in we encountered problem after problem (a broken and filthy washer, gas leak from the dryer, garbage disposal broke and flooded the kitchen floor, bathroom ceiling leaking from who knows what and more...) Also, the walk through was scheduled to be done with a member of the leasing office but instead they sent the maintenance man. We had scheduled it via phone call, email, and in person and due to military orders had to have it done at a certain time and date. We were told the apartment was in good standing and we should only be hit for the carpet because of the seal coating from the parking lot. I had to reach out to them to receive our final bill which came as a surprise ($800) on top of the full month of rent we paid ($1200) even though we moved out in the middle of the month due to naval order expiration.  Getting in contact with anyone from the leasing office was next to impossible because they were either away during business hours, closed during business hours or don't return their messages left with leasing office staff.  Overall this was an awful experience! read more

This place has the most unprofessional malicious nasty group of women working in management and they are family so they stick together and lie against tenets. They manage Hickory Manor, Northgate Apartments, Eagle Ridge and any Monarch apartment buildings be aware there will harass you especially if you have a disability and have a caretaker or a person of color with a disability. I have an autistic adult brother that I care take and I bought him to the pool and they absolutely were so nasty and mean to me because I wasn't on the lease. Matter of fact even in the beginning they harassed us for moving boxes in the day he signed the lease. And It actually never stop from there he and his company (which would often be me since I do caretake) would continue to get harassed by management. Patiently waiting for the lease to end so I can get my poor little brother out of that horrible managed apartment complex. I'm trying to convince him to spend a little more money and break the lease and pay it forward so hopefully he ends up leaving sooner. The best word of advice I can give you is to absolutely do not sign a lease there they will glitter it up all the way until you sign the lease and then from there they will harass you. read more

This is the worst management I have ever encountered. The complex manager is both malicious and untruthful. I speak for several others when I warn you to keep moving and look for a better place to live. If you are looking for peaceful and friendly management this is NOT your spot. Nothing but unwarranted bullying the entire time I have been here. Yes it's a very nice apartment but you will pay out your bottom half and be miserable the entire time. Doesn't matter if you follow rules and choose to be a good person she will find a way to threaten. God forbid you have a catastrophic life altering situation they will not be compassionate or even call you to discuss a plan. You will just be slapped with an unnecessary law suit. Compared to most of the apartments around this area Northgate has the best pricing. I just moved here and I really like how they have the apt set up. Washer and dryer in unit with huge bathroom. 300 to $400 difference when you compare what northgate offers to other places around the area. The only thing I really don't like is the automatic door lock which pretty much guarantees a lock out, bang there goes $50. I was really impressed with how well they deal with snow removal, the company they work with does their best to get apt roads clear before morning. Will do another review as time goes by. UPDATE: lease basically says they can tow your car without any warning. I actually did get a warning at 9:25pm and car was towed at 12am for apt parking sticker. Picked up my car next morning for $160 not much to say but 24hr notice would have been nice. read more

I honestly don't know why they have painted walls on the pictures to promote the apartment because they don't allow you to paint ...I have been at Northgate for almost a year and a half and have had nothing but issues with water damage and mold get ready for water damage if you live on the first floor. I had to beg them to come out to fix it my washer it would spill water all over my carpet I would have to have maintenance come in and fix it constantly when I wasn't Home which made me feel uncomfortable. I even was home from work one time and the maintenance man tried to come in my home without letting me know they were coming by and I wasn't even dressed. In order to update your apartment for it to look like something worth paying $1200 you have to pay an additional $50 for new appliances the cabinets are outdated and the stoves are outdated unless you get an upgrade which cost more money if you're going to pay this kind of money you might as well get a house. They force you to have rentals insurance but the insurance that I got through them would not pay me out when I had water damage on all of my clothes I had mildew on my clothes from my closet read more

I have lived here for about 5 months now and I was very skeptical on moving into these apartments especially with a child. For those of you looking for a place to live these apartments arent bad. The amounts are reasonable and there floor plans arent bad. They have about 6 to 7 floor plans to choose from which is great (gotta love variety).They have a pool, washer and dryer in the unit, detached garage and they do have Security through out the night. I've personally met the gentleman and is very nice. The management may need work and I believe it may affect the maintenance department. Due those issues I believe they still get the maintenance done within a timely matter.... The person that helped me move in was Jennifer which was a GREAT help. She made my moving in process very smooth. She was very helpful and flacual with her scheduale. Answered all my questions and made me feel welcomed. read more

My mother was a tenant at Northgate (6/2011-07/2021). Due to her illness, I switched her apartment to a 1st-floor dwelling 07/2020. I was put on her lease. My mother was hospitalized 03/2021. The lease renewal came up and I renewed it for her. She passed away 05/17/2021. I informed Northgate that my mother passed. I emailed them a copy of the death certificate on June 17, 2021. Since her original lease would have ended July 17th, they canceled the lease renewal & went by the original lease end date 07/17/2021. Jenny, the assistant, had me fill out a termination notice. I took pictures of the apartment 07/11/2021.I surrendered keys, 07/15/2021. Aug 10, 2021, I was emailed the move out statement, which noted fees for painting & carpet cleaning/stains. I asked for proof of damages, Jenny mentioned pictures were forthcoming. 07/18/2021 the manager, Lindsey, emailed me threatening fines if I continued asking for proof. read more

Apartments were decent. I lived there for 1 year. However the security at night were extremely rude and seemed like they were out to get you. Apartment prices were okay at best. However when you leave, be prepared for them to keep your ENTIRE DEPOSIT. I lived with 3 roomates all of which the deposits were kept by Northgate. Around $1200 and then asked for $200 more. DO NOT LIVE HERE, I REPEAT DONT LIVE HERE!!!!. The apartments are small and dirty. Prior to moving in. It's in an unsafe area. There are always people cutting through the complex that dont live there. Not a safe area for children. They claim to have night time security I think they just say that. My husband car got broken into parked right in front of our apartment. I've never seen anyone driving around at night. The staff is super unfriendly and rude. They never answer the phones. I had called once to complain about black mold growing in my master bathroom and they had the nerve to tell me it was my fault. Never did anything about it. We ended up buying out of our lease early bc it was so terrible living there. You can find much nicer apartments within the same price range. This place isnt worth it. read more

I lived in Northgate apartments for a year, I'm not the most impressed. The apartments are decent. My biggest complaint is the lack of care and security. I feel a complex's company that has multiple properties would have better security, like I don't know, CAMERAS?! Our cars got broken into multiple times with personal property stolen. When we went to let them know, all they said was to file a police report and that theres kids around here who are known to come steal. 1. If it is on YOUR property, I feel it is YOUR responsibility to either take care or at least prevent things like this from happening. 2.If it is KNOWN that this is common in this area how do you not have any cameras? 3.Also, the NOISE from people outside at 2am BLARING music,security needs to step it up. I NEVER see them drive around, the car is always in the same spot. During the winter the car was buried in and you could tell it hadn't moved in some time. It isn't very noise proof here. But, my only other thing I would let people know, is that from personal experience I have found apartment complex's with more living space that are way cheaper then here. Was stationed here for over a year. Seemed like an ok apartment near base. Terrible complex. Over priced. $1000 for a one bedroom. My car was broken into. Constantly smells of marijuana. Walls are very thin. Once I moved out I was slapped with an outrageous bill for minor messes. I highly recommend going somewhere else. My fiancé and I just finished our lease at Northgate. I gave 5 stars because these apartment are cozy (probably nicest in the area), staff is efficient including office staff and maintenance, pool is beautiful and clean, w/d in unit, sound between units is as close to nonexistent as you can get, neighbors are respectful, received more than half my security deposit back (which was a bit more than I expected), there's nice floor plans with a lot of hidden storage, there is a small workout room (small ok because not many people are in their at one time), nice clubhouse with book trade and pop and candy vending machines, clean hallways, and also I think the 1-3 STAR REVIEWS I SAW ARE COMPLETELY UNFAIR! Shame on those who have chosen 1-3 stars. We were tenants at Northgate for a year. Our choice to end our lease was simply financial. We were respectful tenants who played by the rules so maybe that has something to do with our experience at Northgate ? Or maybe the 1-3 star reviewers are just vindictive people. No place is perfect, but for the area, it's as close to perfect as you will get! There is an issue with finding the most convenient of parking in the evening hours, an issue I know the staff is working hard at trying to resolve. I had one issue with the office staff over a one year period and they were quick to fix said issue. I worked mostly with Jennifer who is always working. I'd say give her a day off but she probably doesn't even want it. She works very hard. I dealt with Aimee on many occasions as well. She was great, too. My questions or concerns (concerns were few) were always resolved and resolved quickly thanks to office and maintenance staff. They give a community newsletter to you under your door. They set-up special events for tenants such as raffles, pool parties, etc. the only thing I did not like about Northgate was the muffler and bass noise in the parking lot. Because of the area, I would not consider that an issue that is under the staff's control. The bass noise of music was only with cars coming in and out, it was very rare for a tenant to park and leave the music on. Like I said, respectful neighbors. All-in-all it would only be fair to say that Northgate was a pleasant stay and the best you will find in the area. We were sad to leave. read more

the apartments are very nice. But that's about it. If you are looking for amenities the current management has taken away just about every privilege you can think of. No BBQ (there goes the benefit of a deck/patio), no backing into a parking spot (who knows why), certain breeds of dogs aren't allowed and the ones that are poop everywhere and people don't clean it up, and arrive home late at night after a date night out and expect to walk to find a parking space due to guest parking in resident only parking. Go to management and to complain and NO action they will say they're doing their job. However it's not true. If you live there now do yourself a favor and get out. If you're considering moving there my advice is keep looking unless you like being told what to do with your money. read more

This apartment is the worst! First notice I got was one saying that I specifically was throwing cigarette butts down on my neighbors patio and they complained about it. I don't smoke nor does my wife. When we went in to talk to management about this she blatantly said then don't smoke and drop your butts down. When explained to her that we don't smoke she still persisted that we did and finally said that it was sent to my neighbor above us also! Second complaint about the management here is be careful driving through the complex, I was coming home after a normal work day and entered the property on my motorcycle. Once I entered the property I was instantly greeted with a slick spot that made me lay down my motorcycle. When going into talk to the manager she blatantly told me that was their property and I carried a four to five inch wide oil strip on my motorcycle onto the property to cause me to crash! When showing her the pictures and videos that I took she still insisted that this wasn't their property and I carried the oil on my motorcycle. Plenty of piss poor attitude obviously because they don't want to have to pay for not cleaning their property up. I don't recommend this place to live at all and I am counting down the days till I can move out! read more

HOME SWEET HOME! I'm back at Northgate Apartments! A place I call home:) Thanks to one of the BEST assistant property managers at Northgate JENNY for her hard work, deadication, and effort. She did everything under the sun to get me approved! She is by far the best, no seriously. She is sweet, kind, and helpful. I highly recommend Northgate Apartments. They make sure their tenants are well taken care of and I appreciate it as a tenant. The community is well kept, clean, & drama free. It's like good customer satisfaction. They would get 10 stars if I could rate them on a scale of 1 through 10. Maintenance does a great job as well. Horhay is excellent his personality is A1. He took care of all my needs in my apartment in a timely manner. People see so many reviews good and bad but by far this will be more than a good review this would be a great review for those looking for a place to call home Northgate Apartments is the place to be:) read more

Can't wait until my lease is up...I'm counting down the months, the apartments are nice and all but there deposits is outragious, I have to pay a deposit for everything dog, garage, apartment, the list goes on and on, I've paid a total 1400 dollars just in deposits and in order to get it back I have to live here 6 months after my lease is up, also pray that u don't loose ur parking sticker for ur car, or should I say buy a new car and forget to take it off of ur old car they charge u 25 dollars to get a new one. And if u just so happen to go on vacation or anything expect to come back and see sum stickers on ur car window that VERY Hard to remove, or even ur car towed, because that's what the sticker is stating, if ur car is not remove it will be towed within 5 to 7 days. I can't wait to get out of this apartment!!! The neighbor who lived below us (2nd floor) kept complaining about how loud we are when they were already informed that it's because I have a toddler who loves to run around the house. It's not our fault if the walls/floors are so thin that they can hear everything. I called the office today to complain about the same neighbor who complains alot since they were playing loud music that I can feel our floor vibrates. When I called, instead of telling me that they will call our neighbor; the person that I talked to just told me that these people complains about us every single day. Live here at Northgate right now. Love the apartment design, love the fact that it has a washer and dryer in the apartment. Maintenance takes good care of the property, they are always busy with some sort of project to better the property. The apartment was very clean when I moved in. The staff in the office is very helpful and friendly. Security is visible, I wish they walked around more than just driving, but they do answer their phones if there are any issues. I know first hand because I called once because my neighbor got locked out and they responded right away. I noticed some people are angry about not having a grill allowed anymore but I am glad since I have seen two balconies catch fire from unattended grills. They have grilling areas throughout the property now which are A.O.K with me. I recommend living at Northgate. read more
