This is my second time here (I live in Vermont but come here to visit my cousin/BFF). My cousin attends here regularly, but both times I came alone because the first time she had just given birth to her second child and the second time because her older child was not feeling well. The first time I was greeted at the door by a wonderfully friendly but not-overbearing woman, and I told her it was my first time here. We soon discovered she knew my cousin and her husband! They were in the same small group Bible study. Turns out, she is also the pastor's wife! She asked my if I preferred traditional or contemporary music--I love both (raised in a traditional-hymn-singing Baptist church down South, currently attending a hip Rock-n-Roll-style contemporary church up north). But the preaching is live in the contemporary worship hall, so I told her I'd like to go there. She walked me all the way to the opposite end of this large church, found me a seat in the crowded auditorium, and introduced me to the people around me. The worship band was rockin, the singer filled the room with their passion--you can't help but tapping your feet, clapping your hands, and singing and swaying to the music! But here's the important part: the sermon. Every sermon I have attended here leaves me comforted and assured that I am a beloved child of God, grateful for His grace, and inspired to serve him and obey him. Often, the sermon inspires me to really examine my life and make some specific, meaningful changes. More than once, it has changed how I was viewing a situation or challenge in my life. Always, I came away spiritually filled and grateful I came. The theology is spot-on, Bible-based truth. The people are so welcoming and kind; the community, vibrant. Childcare looks awesome. And the music rocks. So come visit--you will be so glad you did.
